- what about some numbers that matter - like the TRIPLING of house prices during the Howard years - medians up from $150,ooo to $450,ooo - ie $300,ooo bigger mortgages on the same property - meaning an extra $600,ooo-$900,ooo to ultimately be paid to the banks in interest over 30 years. 30 years = approx 10,ooo days, so thats an extra $900,ooo over 10,ooo days - ie. $90 a day increase just in mortgage payments. So who gives a toss about the $5 per person per day debt Labor is racking up?

And yes EVERYONE pays tax of one form ar another - even your 12 year old daughter pays GST on many of her consumer goods and services. More to the point - debts are pushed forward to future generations and in 6 years or so she pay income tax. Or uni fees - whatever - EVERYONE pays into the system somewhere.

Julia Gillard has one of the sharpest, most biting, scintillating intellects that we've seen in Australian Politics, for a long long time. I can't think of a Federal-level Politician in recent decades who even comes close to her brains & political acumen .. not even Keating had her nouse & her brains & clear-vision.
