WW2 ended due to massive Soviet losses sustained in repelling Germany, they simply had more men. as to this issue,i only have experience with small arms.i have shot my AK'S on range with m16's.i would prefer the russian weapon in most situations i think.based on my reading,i see since ww2,the rooskies have a very solid history of field weapon excellence.the t34 tank[best of ww2]ppsh 9by18 submachine gun[also best in class],ak47[argueably best in class].i mean we do great weapons but so do the rooskies.ive seen these people up close,they are a formidible foe by any measure.so are we.

@gamergotaids There was no recognised country named Russia from the end of 1917 to 1991. That is a fact. It was a Republic within the USSR which was the country. WW2 ended due to massive Soviet losses sustained in repelling Germany, they simply had more men. U.S. aid and involvement along with the British and other allied forces helped immensely. 1 on 1, Germany probably would have beaten the USSR. Of course they're afraid, it woudl go nuclear. In which case both sides lose.

@gamergotaids If the fighting was guaranteed to be conventional, they wouldn't be afraid of defeat as it wouldn't happen, but afraid of losses certainly as casualties would still be high. But you're insane if you think Russia can take on the entire NATO alliance and win. Case in point, the U.S. is stronger than Russia in every possible way except nuclear weapons, however in a conventional fight, those aren't involved anyways. So if the US is stronger than Russia alone, NATO is just gravy.

The M1A2 is arguably the best tank in the world. You can't even spell Spetznaz correctly. Who cares about them? They're roughly the equivalent of U.S. Army Rangers. The U.S. is superior to the Russian Federation in nearly every regard except Russia still has more nuclear weapons, though that's hardly relevant since we have enough as well.

The US then saw the Soviets had fields filled with SAMs, so they kept out of the air space. The whole time, the US government was trying to get out of it, but when they saw a casualty and pulled out. The Russians threatened an attack immediateley after, but the US president had a conversation with the Russian Prime Minister, and the US pulled out.

Not only do both the American and Russian military forces have better technology and weapons systems, but they also possess the necessary experience. The last major conflict the CPLA had was in 1979, the Sino-Vietnamese war(third Indochina War). The U.S. and Russian Military budget combined is well over 700 billion dollars, China only 98 billion. Yes they have greater numbers, but when it comes to a war with US/Russia that just means more losses

as to this issue,i only have experience with small arms.i have shot my AK'S on range with m16's.i would prefer the russian weapon in most situations i think.based on my reading,i see since ww2,the rooskies have a very solid history of field weapon excellence.the t34 tank[best of ww2]ppsh 9by18 submachine gun[also best in class],ak47[argueably best in class].i mean we do great weapons but so do the rooskies.ive seen these people up close,they are a formidible foe by any measure.so are we.
