Okay I hunt and fish, yea I think Whales are really neat, but I think the deer that is in my freezer are neat too, and the elk that I shot, was very pretty. BUT. I need food. cetaceans are not keystone organisms so if this fishing is susstainable then there is no problem. Shark overfishing is a real problem, they are a keystone predators. The fact that thier reputation isnt popular and other than the illegality of it, no one really cares vs. whaling etc. and yes many chondrichthyes are protected. A single teleost bony fish tuna undergoing the same processing as this fauna is no more "Epic". Removal of tuna from its ecosystem ruins the entire ecosystem.

Well, many ppl here in iceland don´t like this either, but many ppl don´t do anything about this caus they dont see anything wrong with killing them, but Those are mostly the elder ppl caus when they where young the whale was something they often ate and so goes for all fish we eat now, fish was the most resorce around when that older ppl where young so they were used to eath whale. It is not like they can have 3-4 cubs at once mostly jsut 1-2 so they can easily be exsticht with in few years.
