The metacritic score and majority of the critics are way too harsh on this game, but it is mediocre usually. On occassion it has its moments of brilliance but it has issues with controls, bad ai for Amy, and awkward design that really damaged the game. I really liked SOME of it but it has been a frustration to play as well, I only recommend for hardcore Survival horor gamers, others will not be forgiving enough to see it through.

what makes a game that has good ideas but terrible execution any different from a game that has bad ideas and bad execution? bad design is still bad design, regardless of the possibility of the premise. clearly this game needed a much longer development time, because it seems like the game is still in beta stage.

However, with regards to this game, it is full of bad design and therefore deserves to be treated as such. Also, it is blatantly incorrect to compare a game from one genre to another simply because of the score it gets. Derek likes the ideas. Great. However, his points against reviewers opinions are not consistent which makes much of his argument fall apart

I played the trial and while the game is absolutely terrible, it's still very much entertaining in a bad game sorta way. Not something I'd pay full price on, but $5? Unless they fixed all the technical graphical stuff, just...maybe.

And yeah the game has an amazing atmosphere some 5/5 star voice acting! But the problem is the frigging game play! For me it was a disaster! That game has no idea what it wants to be! Either a shooter, hack n' slash, or a RPG! Don't get me wrong here the concept was great! But the game itself! Sorry! That game just doesn't have what it takes to be called good!
