@HaloGears360innit Why would you ASSUME I declawed the cat because I have it? The cat was a rescue. Was slammed in a car door as a kitten and has been deaf since and she was also missing the last third of her tail. ALSO, she was declawed when I rescued her from the people that had abused her. Wouldn't it have made more since to ask me if I was the one that had her declawed rather than automatically assume?
@1softkiss Yep, would have been more reasonable. So did you declaw the cat? From your awnser back I assume you didn't. Would be weird if it weren't so. Anyway nice to see this akward combination living together.
@HaloGears360innit No, I didn't declaw the cat she was like that when I rescued her.I'm VERY against taking away that part of life that animals have been born with to help them adapt to their environment and to survive. They have been friends like this for ten years now and my cat is also great friends with my other adult Ball Python as well as my ten foot Coastal Carpet Python which I also have videos up of. Thank you for the compliment it is wonderful to watch their bond :O)
@HaloGears360innit Actually in the video I said that the cat was declawed when I got her. That's the purpose of placing that information either in the video or in the video info under the video :O) A slight oversight but it does happen so no harm done :O)
@zOMGLaserGunzPewPew People don't seem to have a problem with it obviously. The snake had a rat bite on it's head and neck from being fed live rats, was dehydrated and infested with mites and missing the last third of it's tail because the guy had ripped the shed off forcefully, skin and flesh. It took a year before I could even put my hands in his enclosure he was so mean and defensive. He almost didn't live and now he's calm and still has scars from the rat bite.
@Frequency404 I totally agree with you with the exception that Ginger my female Ball Python was the first snake Deffer bonded with and she wasn't a rescue but I think their relationship opened the cat up to trusting and thus having been abused she took to Tipr instantly and he accepted her affections immediately with no reservations at all and they've remained like this for ten years now. Nice input and great points and I believe it had everything to do with Tipr's recovery.
@TheEasonator Thank you MOST sincerely :O) It has been my pleasure to give them both a better life and they truly have enriched mine !!! Can't count the smiles,, laughs and overall calming effect they have on me when I'm having one of those not so great days.
@Alucard0715 The guy that had Tipr had left the snake outdoors in a glass tank with a screen top on it all summer close to their barn. The snake was dehydrated, had a rat bite on the top of his head (You can still see the dark scar) and had a serious rat bite on his lower jaw near his throat. He was mite infested and the guy had ripped off the snakes stuck shed and tore off all the skin on the last six inches of his tail exposing a bloody bone when I got the snake and now has a black tail tip
@1softkiss It really angers me that people can get away with treating their reptiles in a manner, but oh no, if its a normal/typical domestic animal, they can get in trouble. Reptiles need more representation in society.
@Alucard0715 I hate the fact that any animal is neglected or abused but for the mere reason that Ball Pythons are cheap and easy to get they seem to be the most poorly treated of all snakes :O( It really brings tears to see the way some people treat snakes and all we can do is try to educated them. Dogs and cats are abused also and if HSUS would use the funding they collect for the welfare of the animals there would be fewer that do suffer.
thank you i never knew you could use thoughs. my old friend told me to use olive oil or some type of cooking oil for that so i will try the vitamin e gel caps when i get paid again. and go down to the dollar store.
thanks again.
I also had a cat that was sort of neglected my sisters husband he doesn't know how to treat cats so when he deployed to iraq i took her she took about 2 to 3 months to get use to us and become a cat again. not frightened to get beat or screamed at.
constrictor who got out and strangled their two daughters who were only about 1 month ago. the careless owners forgot to lock the cage so she couldn't get out. so now when i take my boa's out i get looked at all the time. But i trust my boa's around my 1 year old nephew they have not shown me other wise not to. I don't leave his side when their out but he lovest to pet them.
yeah so do I can't stand seeing animals being hurt. My female is the sweetest thing you could ever have. i have 3 big boa constrictor's my 7 foot male super hypo jungle male my 4 1/2 foot pastel boa constrictor female. and my 7 1/2 foot 25 lbs true columbian jungle female boa.
People who should hate snake's should watch you're beautifull video and see how sweet and caring they are. Just about a month ago up here in spanaway we had some careless people who owned a 13 foot female boa
@pitbulllover45 Thank you for the support and wonderful compliment !!! We all that love snakes try to emphasize to others that snakes aren't aggressive animals. They prefer to have no confrontations with any living creature unless looking for food. In captivity they don't strike or bite their handler unless the handler is not paying close attention or being careless and using bad judgment. Snakes don't try to get out unless they aren't content with their environment or they are hungry.
products that will hurt my snake but if you could help me out i just need a little help to figure out how to help her shed that last part of skinn off her body.
all the way down to her tail. She was just a baby at the time i got her they were only feeding her once a month at just a young age. but now she is 4 1/2 feet to longer i havent messured her lately.
owe also do you know of a good shedding product that will help her shed i have been soaking my female for about 20 minutes every two days but she has some shed still left on her chin and top of her head. i don't know any products that will help her with it i don't want to use any damaging
@pitbulllover45 Buy some Vitamin E Gel Caps. Stick a pin or knife in the tip and squeeze some of the gel out onto your fingers and apply it to the areas on the snake that are having shed problems. I've done it for years and it's incredible and won't hurt the snake at all. You can buy a bottle of 100 caps of Vitamin E Gel caps at the dollar store for a dollar and the stuff is amazing. Also great for helping heal injuries that aren't infected and helps scale rot heal up.
that is pretty neat i have never sean that happen with different animals. I rescued two of my animals My golden retriever/lab mix and my 4 1/2 foot female pastel boa constrictor. My dog was so malnurished he was skinn and bones the guy i got him from barelly even fed him anything he only weighed 29lbs when he should have weighed 60 to 70lbs at 1 year old. But now he weighs 79 to 80 lbs and is healthy as a horse.
My female boa was so malnurished also you could feel her back bone
@pitbulllover45 Thank you for the input !!! It's a strange friendship but my cat is also great pals with my other female adult Ball Python and my Coastal Carpet Python. I thought perhaps it was because both the cat and snake had been abused and still think they bonded for that reason and then it was natural for my cat to bond with the rest of my snakes once that trust had been established. Great to hear you love saving animals also :O) Hate people that abuse and neglect them.
@glucosemeter I sent you a message with a link for my most recent video of my cat that shows her now. She's an amazing animal and very loved as she was a rescue when I got her.
@madelynnlynn Thank you :O) Actually my male and female look a lot alike except the female is reduced pattern and my cat is friends with both the 8 year old Ball Pythons but she's closer to Tipr, my rescue. I really think rescued animals make incredible companions for us humans as well as with each other because they seem to understand we helped them. I'm really glad you liked the video and I will definitely check out your channel.
This is absolutely wonderful! Humans have been given dominion over the animals, and what you have done here is what we should all strive to accomplish (create peaceable kingdoms wherever possible!) And, of course you know I especially like the last sentence in your description!
@ZooVisitorMM Thank you Merry. You know I totally approve of any environment for animals that they can progress in and live a great quality of life. The most important thing is they have to be in a positive environment to react with positive behavior. There is SO much humanity can learn from animals about social behavior and how they react to different stimulus and their environment. At least snakes are advanced enough to know that it's a good idea to totally avoid humans in the wild.
@jxz107 Welp it is a great experience to witness and the world is for sure full of ignorant people that see only what they want to see and the imagination sure does goes amuck with many ignorant people. LOL Seriously, look at animal rights groups and HSUS, heck they feel it's wrong for humans to bond with anything except cats and dogs. ROFL
Love it! I had a ball that I loved very much. He was so friendly and loving towards me and other members of my family, including the cats we had. I never really kept him caged and had pretty much free run of the place; with in limits. He and my mom's cats love to curl up together and soak in the sun. Never an act of aggressive behavior towards each other. The loved each others company. Great vid and thanks for posting.
@bnaguy1977 Thank you for your great comment and for your input. I love hearing from people that have also witnessed this bond between snakes and other animals. I have several friends that have cats and dogs that are close like mine are. One has a huge black lab that walks around the house most of the day with a big boa on his back and they curl up and sleep together too.
very lovely video ! it's amazing how your cat and snake get along with eachother ! isn't the first time, a weird pair of animals bonded. i think it is very interesting.
@BrittanyNicole1990 Thank you Brittany I really think the type of environment they are kept in has a lot to do with their individual stress levels and in a quiet calm atmosphere they are all less likely to be defensive or aggressive. I've never had any negative behavior from them and it is good to see more situations being brought into the public showing that snakes can be social creatures.
@ReptoMan12 They are amazing. Have been for many years and my cat will go to the enclosures and stand and paw at them if I don't have a snake out so naturally I have to take one out for her to bond with LOL Thank you for watching and for the nice comment :O)
@lakaboo86 Thank you :O) Deffer is like a big mother to all my snakes. I don't however allow her in the room with the big Argentine Boas if they are out because my cat is used to socializing with the other snakes and not so familiar with my big ones so Deffer gets closed up in another room when the big ones come out. I made that mistake once and forgot to close her up and had Nosey on my bed and Deffer ran and bounced on the bed so I had to intervene a strike.
hmm iunno theirs the very odd shot of your bp coiling her, if she was hungry or something i think snakes cant think that why, thats me though but anywho interesting vid !
@ReidHarris7 My ball pythons have never coiled my cat ROFL They curl up together and sleep together and the snake crawls across the cat back and forth a lot but never any negative behavior.
@RpLaIcHzEiT Thank you :O) I'm really blessed with some wonderful animals that are a huge part of every day of my life. We are all definitely a close package deal here in my home.
