when you give somebody money you have to take some responsibility yourself. you could ask your self what a charity organisation or a pension fund is doing with a guy like this. its like people who gets angry when they realize that george bush lied about iraq. when somebody got a deal and its so good that you cant turn down its a good idea to think twice.
Honestly, it kind of makes me sick that we are meant to feel bad for these people who "lost everything" (except their health, their liberty, their family, and 2 7-figure houses). Ohh no, the Jewish grandpa might have to do something undignified like work part-time as a Wal-Mart greeter. Yes, 15 million people died last year of lack of access to drinking water, and this is the real tragedy!
"Do you have any money to live on?" "Enough for about 60 days."
The amount of money this guy needs to live for 60 days (I'm guessing about $15k) the average person in the developing world could make last years. Also, they didn't "lose" an 8-figure family fortune because it wasn't their money to begin with. They got mega-rich stealing other people's money - their losing that money was simply a correction.
You lose a 8 figure investment , that like maybe ,10 million? , and now you're a fucking broke old man?? Should I spell the word GREED??? It hard to feel pity, for a greedy person.
ha ha... the jew investrors knew madoff's returns were too high...they just thought it was due to his front running...thats why so many of these suckers invested w him ...cuz they thought he was breaking the law and they wd ride along ...this is called karma
the explanation, jewish love money, and they didn't see and know that a jewish could stole them, it's a big family, and they meet them in synagogue , they trust religion like money, it's the story of cupidity and lies.
He would take deposits made by new investors in his fund, and pay out their principal to investors who had joined his fund earlier as though the money was legit interest/capital gains/dividend returns from investments made by his fund.
Madoff was well connected and was able to get officials to look the other way. Madoff's clients back then were not filing complaints against him. They kept getting checks and those bogus statements. The only reason he got caught is because the market crashed during the real estate bust a few years ago. Folks wanted their money and he couldn't pay em anymore.
So funny... we bitch about so many Black and Mexican people being thugs, and here is one white old cat who stole more money from people than all Black gangsters in the US combined. Would would of ever thought....
Great part in the book is Markopolos talking of how astonished he was the news media didn't seem interested in such a huge story. Seriously, no one could (literally) put two and two together?
Anyone investing with Madoffs after the very first notice of this being a scam 2000, that this injustice was occurring . The FCC in part responsible for the losses, Considering multiple contacts & did nothing!
I wonder if the FCC was not a part of keeping this hidden. Least steps be taken to never allow those notified & chose to ignore the dozens of signs, these people sitting in positions should never be sitting in seats pulling a salary .

Wealthy Americans on average have terrible taste.
Ugly homes, hideous clothes. No taste, no breeding. They are simply nouveau riche.

@juliogbox Thank you for the correction... It was a type-O.
Its been said... I guess there was corruption. The words walked right out of my mouth.
There were so many stories around for several yrs... it was almost inevitable some of them would turn out to be true.
