Medical Marijuana? Marijuana is less harmful than booze and there's NO REASON why it shouldn't be totally legal to just smoke it for recreational use.
Drug war deaths don't happen when drugs are legalised-competion would change to the way alcohol companies currently compete. When comparing harmfulness of the two substances, it is grossly unfair to include drug war casualties, as these stem from the illegal nature of marijuana, not its actual physical properties. I live in Utah. I know so many people who's lives are ruined just for having smoked pot. Not by the substance but by the law! They can't even get a job or a loan! They can't go to school! They go to jail for a long time! My friend got caught for possession and served 90 days in jail because he couldn't afford bail. This is just getting Ridicules!

Marijuana is absolutely harmless and I dont see the need in making it illegal. There is no such thing as an over dose on weed and the study that scientist performed on rats that "proved" Marijuana kills brain cells was completely misleading. @dmcarefuldriver Did I say chemotherapy is a 100% failure? My uncle went through the standard chemotherapy for his prostate cancer, and did not get any better. Matter of fact he lost tremendous weight, lost his appetite because of constant stomach pain, his skin lost its "color", and in his final days he looked like a breathing corpse. Chemotherapy is torture for most cancer patients, both physically and finacially. Your father was lucky.
@dmcarefuldriver Two family members of mine went through chemo. It IS torture. Chemo is killing other cells along with the cancer. They both lived, but marijuana made their lives easier. My grandfather was conservative his whole life, and he said his decision to try pot, instead of pharma pills, was the best decision he ever made.
You might want to really read up on all the wonderful preliminary studies that have been released concerning marijuana and it's affects on cancer. Educate yourself.
Your dad is a rare case, Chemo is terribly destructive to the body, that's why it works so well against cancer. Pot doesn't cure the cancer, it makes the Chemo and the side-effects there-of more acceptable to the patients who receive Chemo. I tracked it down, and the source attributed didn't publish an issue on the date posted (Dec 25th, 2007), so I read the two issues that were published that month, and they had NOTHING in them on Hemp Oil and cancer. There is a claim that there are no medical benefits to marijuana, but that is because the GOVERNMENT specifically FORBID any medical research on marijuana.
This prohibition is ridiculous, it cost too much money, marijuana is the largest cash crop in the USA.

Drug war deaths don't happen when drugs are legalised-competion would change to the way alcohol companies currently compete. When comparing harmfulness of the two substances, it is grossly unfair to include drug war casualties, as these stem from the illegal nature of marijuana, not its actual physical properties. If you had enough pot to OD, the weight would crush you. If prohibition were still in effect, the related gang wars would cause just as many casualties or more.

You're all missing the point, being able to smoke marijuana is a matter of freedom. If you smoke and then drive, that is a separate law, it deals with being intoxicated while operating heavy machinery.
I don't endorse driving while under the effects of marijuana. I don't see why that 'fact' should contribute in any way as it's not relevant. It has nothing to do with the ILLEGALITY of marijuana, it has to do with irresponsible adults driving while intoxicated.

There is no such thing as an over dose on weed and the study that scientist performed on rats that "proved" Marijuana kills brain cells was completely misleading. Matter of fact he lost tremendous weight, lost his appetite because of constant stomach pain, his skin lost its "color", and in his final days he looked like a breathing corpse. Chemotherapy is torture for most cancer patients, both physically and finacially. Your father was lucky.

@dmcarefuldriver Two family members of mine went through chemo. It IS torture. Chemo is killing other cells along with the cancer. They both lived, but marijuana made their lives easier. My grandfather was conservative his whole life, and he said his decision to try pot, instead of pharma pills, was the best decision he ever made.
You might want to really read up on all the wonderful preliminary studies that have been released concerning marijuana and it's affects on cancer. Educate yourself.

Its best to watch part 1-7 then skim through the comments. @DiamondChrome42 well study's show that it doesn't shorten your life at all, but it's not like you have to use the drug itself once it gets legalized. If you want to take the healthy way just don't, like with alcohol.

Sure, legalize marijuana. Then force pot smokers to pay for their own added health care risk, and force them to pay restitutions for drug violences in Mexico and the US. Then watch them cry like bitches.
