Hate to sound like a pedantic guitar geek, but that's a Gibson ES-355 (what B.B. King called 'Lucille') in Pete's hands. And something tells me he didn't smash it or bounce it off the floor.

@telebob59 This is an obvious studio recording for "live" appearance, seems to have only one guitar in the mix though. Yeah he smashed up some semi valuable guitars but nothing Like a 355. It's funny he got playing SG's and Pauls because he could brutalize them without them falling apart when in fact he was recording Whose Next with a big hollow Gretsch which if he wind milled it the bridge would be knocked off or atleast out of position.

@uhjigali I hate to say it, but I think Pete is guilty. In spite of his genius in musicianship, he always gave me bad vibes, anyway. He said he was researching a book on those kiddie porn sites, right? How lame. Buddied up with Gary Glitter, who we KNOW is guilty...why in the hell doesn't Daltrey disassociate himself from that creep?

What's the make of Pete's guitar here? It looks like a Gibson, but what make? Whatever it is, it must be a prop guitar. I've never seen any footage of Pete playing it live. This was his Gibson SG era.

Looks like a Gibson ES-335 in Cherry Red (off a colour pic I have seen of this show - check out the Tommy demos on Youtube).

It was a Gibson ES 335 semi-hallow body guitar. I also was surprised because Pete had been using SG's quite a bit during this period.

I remember watching this when it came out sometime in spring, 1969, sitting with my first real girl friend on her parents couch. Memories flooding back...

Well, I'm a girl, so I can rave all I want...to this day, Roger takes my breath away.
