Why is race even an issue????? He's a tremendous musician and human being. I've had the pleasure of meeting him several times and he's a class act and a great person.
@ClassicTracks2 Live Insanity is a live CD from this tour but not this particular show. This is a show from october of 1996 performed at G.I.T. in Hollywood. As far as I know there is only video footage of this show.
I had a couple of Black metalhead friends back in highschool and I remember how this guy was a sort of hero to them. They didn't get any bullshit from White metal fans, they got shit from Blacks who told them they were "wanna-be Whites".
Both of them had the same come-back: "If that means liking music made by real musicians instead of machines and being able to speak clearly instead of sounding like a jive-talking, uneducated idiot, then maybe I'd RATHER have white friends".
@Ev105 The best guitarist I have ever known in my life is black. He can play Cooley and Becker's stuff CLEAN, and also does classical/flamenco, bass, and fingerstyle jazz.
