Thanks for uploading this.I'm from Srilanka,When this happen I was 6(I followed cricket from 1995).I have a cousin who followed this test match on ABC commentary in Short weaves. It's great privilege to see this with wonderful CH9 commentary and also the presentation ceremony.
These are some of the most unforgettable moments in Test cricket. I am now 34 and I remember when this Test match happened back in 1994, satellite television hadn't come to India big time. I was in my pre-university college. I used to wake up at 5.30 am and tune into the Short Wave in radio to hear the commentary. On this final day, I quietly managed to take transistor to my college and bunked a class and took the transistor to the terrace of my college and listened to this remarkable 1-run win
@mymentor I agree. I've been searching for this Test for days with "91/92 in the search box. I just decided to click on anything with WI vs Australia before '95. It is 91/92.
How arrogant and detached was Richardson at the presentation? I think he was desperately affecting to show a Richards-like calm and confidence with 'I knew we could do it...we look forward to winning in Perth..' - not an ounce of recognition concerning the other side, or the significance of the match. Only an automaton could genuinely behave like that.
calm down...... please tell me why he should he be concerned of the other side ,a side that was number one at that time(btw he did give them recognition of their bowling if you listened properly), and what was the significance of the match?
For what my comment is worth. I would still rate the West Indies of the late 70's and 80's the best players ever. And I am from Australia. The only weakness they had was playing against spin bowling. Also I am an Australian cricket tragic.
@mtp0202 The WI players of the 70s upto early 80s had NO weakness against spin bowling. Lloyd was an excellent player of spin. So were Rohan Kanhai, Richards, Kallicharan and Greenidge. Even Jeff Dujon was pretty good. It was only in the late 80s when Greenidge and Richards got older and others had reired that they had weaknesses against spin. Haynes and Richardson admittedly were not patient enough against the turning ball.
A very uncharacteristic Adelaide Test that was; low scoring, however it was the bowling that really contributed to that. Tim May had a great match 5/9 in the 2nd innings and a fighting partnership at the end.
I was fortunate enough as well to be watching this match on tv in Trinidad..up until 4am. What a great game..best finish to a Test match I have ever seen..
had there been an aussie in that catch incident on 5.32. he would have celebrated and mislead the umpire and grab the wicket..........born cheaters are a sheer shame to the game.....
what a cricket match,i was fortunate to watch tht match in 1993,ths match should be the best test match in cricket history, thnxs for posting tht mate.
@jamal22066 i think the commentator said it hit the bat. the replay shows the bat trying to swing out of the way and the ball hit the back of the bat. no one complained, so that's what must have happened.
Border throw the ball down in the dressing room )my memories he really was pissed off you could tell Border did not really want too be interviewed

You sure this was 1994? I'd put my life on the line suggesting this was '91/'92 season.

@joetyer I tell you what though, he knew something we didn't because they won comfortably in Perth. Windies were such a great side back then.

Amazing how similar this is to Edgbaston last year. And Langer is still playing unshakably, twelve years later, as I write this. The git, LOL.
