I have rolled lights before at upwards of 90mph. It is not as fun as you might think because in the back of your head you are constantly thinking what if there's a car over this hill and i can't stop in time or what if someone is in the road but your adrenaline is off the charts but with no where for you to direct that energy it can be hard to stay under control. But when someone's life is on the line you gotta get there. Ended up the call was cancelled as soon as i got near but still.
A City of Gardena police officer was shot multiple times, and an all-units officer needs help call went out. LACSO was responding to assist. It was a massive response with several hundred officers/deputies involved to set up a parameter to capture the shooter. This kind of response is awesome. It's good to know that when they need help, the whole cavalry answers and has your back.
The intersection block was a nice move. Down here where i live no one cares to yield to an emergency vehicle anymore. Even though the fine has doubled and is starting to touch the one thousand dollar range. The "Sam" (supervisor) unit sometimes will not be in an SUV (Tahoe with us) but in a newer radio car. Some prefer a radio car vs. a Tahoe because of the handling when rolling code. Turns can get a little precarious while enroute to a "deputy in a fight" (tend to drive alot more faster) call.
At the time this video was shot most of our radio cars, as are all the ones in this video, were equipped with FS Interceptor 400 units. Now we're mostly equipped with FS SmartSirens as well as the FS Arjent "surf board" lightbars.
To be in those units responding is no fun task either. Andreline is super high - pushing the car to the limit while trying to get there safely. Thinking about the fastest route to get there, who called it in, how are they doing, and yelling in your mind "hold on just a little bit longer" all at the same time....

I have rolled lights before at upwards of 90mph. It is not as fun as you might think because in the back of your head you are constantly thinking what if there's a car over this hill and i can't stop in time or what if someone is in the road but your adrenaline is off the charts but with no where for you to direct that energy it can be hard to stay under control. A City of Gardena police officer was shot multiple times, and an all-units officer needs help call went out. LACSO was responding to assist. It was a massive response with several hundred officers/deputies involved to set up a parameter to capture the shooter. This kind of response is awesome. It's good to know that when they need help, the whole cavalry answers and has your back.

The intersection block was a nice move. Down here where i live no one cares to yield to an emergency vehicle anymore. Even though the fine has doubled and is starting to touch the one thousand dollar range. Personally i like the fact its been raised hopefully they will learn that an officer down is more important than their trip to walmart or to get more lip gloss for themself.

The "Sam" (supervisor) unit sometimes will not be in an SUV (Tahoe with us) but in a newer radio car. Some prefer a radio car vs. a Tahoe because of the handling when rolling code. Turns can get a little precarious while enroute to a "deputy in a fight" (tend to drive alot more faster) call.
