Not sure if I have any Mescalero in me but pretty sure that I have Lipan Apache from
South Texas (moms side) and Chiricahua (dads side) possibly Warm Springs or a relation to Victorio's band. It's an on-going process of searching but DNA helped me
get things started.Contact me by email for more info.
my daughter and i were very fortunate to have been invited to a sunrise dance, where these dancers completed the ceremony. what a spiritual experience!
"Naashgali" or "Naashgali Dine'e" means the "Mescalero Apache People" in the Navajo Language. Some Navajo dictionaries suggest that it comes from "Anaa' naaghali" which means "Enemy who glances about", while others reference that it comes from "Anaa' nisgali", which means "Enemy that travels lightly", (i.e. someone who takes only the neccessary items for battle). Either way, it refers to a once enemy that was very efficient in conducting battle and/or war.
You are absolutly correct!! After some minor research using an unabridged Navajo Dictionary, the word "Dzilgha'i" was suggested. It shall be corrected. Thank you for your keen attention to detail.
White man should not be in our reservation!!! Or black man....
