  • "Prepare to meet your maker..." Oh lol

  • Pity theres not a higher def version up...

  • pretty good :)

  • This is part of something else - not 'Colour of Magic' but where is the full series that it is part of?

  • @Saiaton

    Discworld...

or do you mean a sub-series in discworld?

  • bloody fuckin hell, part two of this is blocked in my country because of some Sony bullshit, part 1 was pretty good though, i wanna watch part two.

  • @JoeEnigma You can find the entire video on the official Snowgum Films website.

  • @SnowgumFilms tyvm, brilliant film :) i love Terry Pratchett, I have read every one of his books about 10 times each :D this is a pretty good adaptation of Rincewind, the coward that he is, hehe.

  • "Nullus Anxietas"...

    "No worries"...?

  • David Jason was good as Albert in Hogfather but yeah this guy is a better Rincewind

  • Most inept wizard? Do you think that Ridcully or Ponder Stibbons could manifest themselves in real life? Do you know how much magic it takes to forge a mind, a body, and a soul out of ink and paper? A BUTTLOAD, that's what!

  • the deformed rabbit is one of the most famous discworld jokes

    glad i finally saw it

  • Baga?

  • @zorrderschnitter94

    He says Bugger

  • I want to make this guy my ringtone.

  • XD oh wow

  • I'm sorry, but whenever I read a Rincewind pov book, I read every single one of his lines using Eric Idle's voice :P The games must've spoiled me, I guess.

  • ... No potatoes then?

  • Woot Luggage!

  • This is great...

I'm pretty pissed that they didn't make this guy play Rincewind in the tv-series "The Colour of Magic", cause he's not suppose to be old, only cowardly....

    Still, very funny

  • @dracognia: Isn't he meant to be old, though? That's the way he's depicted on the covers, who does them?

  • @Eagle0600 First a guy called Josh Kirby made the covers. Then he got replaced by Paul Kidby, who changed Rincewind's look to young, which Pratchett called "exactly as I myself imagines him!". The Rincewind of Kidby and the Rincewind of this film look almost exactly the same.

Also, old people tend to be... not so good... at running through entire countries

  • @dracognia: I just thought it made it funnier. Still, if Sir Pratchett said he looks young, he looks young.

  • @Eagle0600 Pratchett has never actually said how old Rincewind is. Some covers he's old, some he's young...and I haven't come across any passage in the books so far that narrow it down. I like to think of him as being around 40-ish.

  • @bagbunny in Colour of Magic he's sad to be 'young for a wizard' so I'd agree with you at 40-ish

  • bull that he takes over..he should not be so "heroic"

  • it might just be me, but ive always thought Eric Idle would make a brilliant Rincewind

  • He voices rincewind in the Discworld point'n'click games. And it's not just you; he's perfect in it

  • That "Wedge, look! That's a tree!" was very Python-like. ;D

  • Love it!

  • I can't stop watching this, I absolutely love it! This Rincewind's far more like the character then David Jason. I mean, he's a great actor en all, but David was too fat, too charismatic and not cowardly enough to play a convincing Rincewind.

  • Lol this rincewind is truly pathetic and wetter than a mermaids knickers. By far the best RW I have seen. Better than David Jason, whos face was too well known for the part and I kept thinking hey hes albert from Hogfather. I always thought Rincewind was a medievil Shaggy from Skooby Doo.

  • it's a pity that "the colour of magic" movie team didn't have these people working for them...

  • I love how we get absolutely no explanation for anything, but we just assume Rincewind got the short end of the stick again.

  • Ook!

  • The wand went up his nose. That was funny. Rincewind is always awesome.

  • MY SISTERS BOYFRIEND FILMED THIS!

    How coool!

  • 5* for this video :)

  • "Do you think he realizes he's pointing that backwards?"

    Lol! XD This great!

  • the thing is they have missed the essential Rincewind, never look back, away is always better, Rincewind in full run is an Olympic champion (only faster)

  • yeah, one of he's greatest quotes:

when you runnaway it doesn't matter where, it only matters "far"

  • was any of this film from an actuall book, or is it just an improvisation?

  • looooool

    prachett for president!^^

    5 stars!

  • Lol "I don't kill people the luggage does!"

  • they are filming run rincewind run 2 (thank god)

and of course you are all correct mr troy larkin is the best rincewind ever ^^

he better pay me for sayin that....he said he would...

  • woot for wizzards

  • Holy...! This Rincewind looks exactly how I pictured him in my mind, and sounds almost exactly the same, too! :O Creepy. This actor makes a better Rincewind than Sir David Jason. In fact, this film (overall) is probably better than The Colour of Magic film!!

    Make more! Make moooooooore!!

  • Great film! It's really Rincewind how I think of him in the books! Great Job! Could you make another movie with him? ;)

  • "Oh, bugger!" Sweet! Pratchett rules!

  • the voice of this rincewind-actor is great!

you know the pictures of paul kidby?

he had drawn the charakters exactly like i thought of them!

    damn this movie was great!

  • Terry Pratchett, being one of the worlds best writers, is a genius, and his character Rincewind is hilarious.

Putting Rincewind in a real - life movie (even if it´s just a short movie) was therefore both a genious and a hilarious idea.

    Two thumbs up!

  • It's just a shame that Terry won't write anymore novels with Rincewind being the central character. That's why most of the latter half of the Discworld novels don't have him in them anymore, because Terry was quoted to have said (paraphrased): "I'm sick of Rincewind. I hate him now. I don't want to ever write anymore stories with him in it. There won't be anymore Rincewind". I hope he's changed his mind after the release of this movie?

  • Oh my gawd. You're kidding, right?? Rincewind's, like, the best (with the possible exception of Death... mind you, he can't get rid of Death). Yeah, I hope he changes his mind...

  • No,I wish I was kidding. I too, love reading Ricewind's adventures, even if he's a clumsy, cowardly buffoon. We wouldn't want him any other way.

  • Oh God...

    :( I Love Rincewind adventures...

  • I do too. Just like Invader Jem, I find Rincewind and Death being two of my favourite characters in the Discworld series and I hope Terry brings him back seeing how popular he (Rincewind) is with us fans.

And I always liked Eric Idle as Rincewind (especially doing his voice) and wished he would portray Rincewind in person too.

  • Oh yeah, you 're right, Eric Idle was the earth version of Rincewind!

I was thinking that few hours ago... Did you read my mind? XD

  • death was actually introduced as an accident to make a joke work

  • Lol yeah totally, Rincewind is one of my faves too ^_^

Remember, his method of running is very efficent, so efficent that when he starts he cant stop xD

  • Far better Rincewind than Sir David Jason!

  • I told you they were brown!

  • @Orfuss Yeah, though both of them keep looking behind them when they're running away. That's very un-Rincewind like.

  • @Orfuss

Yeh I haven't the foggiest why the director chose David, he's almost the opposite of Rincewind in my mind.

You can't be round if you run from danger so god-damn often.

  • Rincewind could outrun roger banister at the 4 munute mile

  • Words cannot express my love for this film.

  • Soo...no potatoes?

    xD Hahah, awesome film!

  • Hahahaha, I love how he just runs through the crowd of soldiers

  • Liked your nod to Sam Raimi and Evil Dead ^_^ Excellent film!

  • And also the word that the witches were going to use is actually "Terry Pratchett" backwards.

  • I really love this. What made it even better is that my dad was one of the soldiers/woodsmen.

    Medieval re-enacting is great!

  • This is pure brilliance.

Oh, and the "You meet your maker" bit? *snerk*

  • It's impressive, that actor really is very similar to how I picture Rincewind to look like!!!

  • Rincewind is one of my favorite characters in Discworld. For a Wizzard, he's a coward, and a total dick with magic. And that's the reason everyone loves him.

Also, he was a multilegged suitcase that simply PWNS.

  • Sorry, it was "he has" not "he was"...

  • I have to admit it - that is the perfect way to portray Rincewind on film. My only complaint is that his costume was a bit cleaner and brighter than it should be; maybe a few stains of mud, blood, past mini-fires and sweat would've made it even more cooler.

  • I agree, it should be really worn stained and the edges should be falling apart.

  • And the hat should look moth-eaten and its coloration messed up.

  • Rincewind looks absolutely perfect.

  • Haha that's brilliant! The soldier-cum-woodsman's Cockney is spot-on.

    "So, no potatoes then?"

"Very well. We could use someone to put up the shelving."

    :DDD

  • "look. I dont kill people, the luggage kills people!"

  • Oo, shiny. Absolutely great, actually.

  • thats brilliant has a flaver off Monty Python and it very funny and the actors in this should be brought on to the silver screen and more off the discworld i think should be!

  • My word these people and this Rincewind actor should definitley be in a production ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes! And throw in John Cleese as Mustrum Ridcully!

  • This is so funny! Almost as good as a passage of the book... and man, that guy who plays Rincewind is HOT.

  • Low-budget, but well-acted by people who understand the characters enough to make Pratchett's brilliant writing come across. Reminds me of Monty Python and the holy grail appropriately enough.

  • Scratch that - BRILLIANTLY well-acted by people who understand the characters very well.

  • Those amazonian warriors are cute!

  • There is one scene that clearly reminds of a similar one in Bruce Campbell vs. Army of Darkness, was this intended? :P

  • It certainly was! It appears in all the Evil Dead movies. ;)

  • Iv also watcheed both parts an it was great i loved it im guessin that story was based on Terry Pratchett's novel Eric i read that 1 a short while ago it was great keep up the good work but 1 question did you get to meet Terry Pratchett and if so what was he like? blob1993 xx

  • This is just brilliant. You really caught the essence of Rincewind. Its a shame that he now will be played by the Albert actor from Hogfather.

  • That was awesome :D

  • Har, shelving. Cool stuff.

  • Awsome! rincewind is one of m favorite characters from discworld

  • lol I've yet to read the book this is based on (unless it's just a generic Rincewind misadventure) but the jokes are definitely pratchet's style. I especially liked the Moving pictures reference.

  • It is a generic Rincewind misadventure... Altough some parts are based on the end of Interesting Times and the beginning of The Last Continent.

  • poor poor rincewind

  • I just finished watching both these parts, I loved them instantly. I've spent a large chunk of my life in Melbourne and started pointing out places I recognized in the second part.

I must admit, I fell in love with the leading amazon, just my thing for imposing women I guess. and from the start of the "masculine duties" speach I knew straight away about the shelves. Too much Pratchett is never enough.

A great film, 5 indie stars
