I think the tennis match was the defining moment for them both esp. Leyla because they were so bent on competing. Leyla came out of her shell a bit because she was challenged by Tala. I also think that when they met at the rugby game that too was a defining moment because again Tala challenged Leyla's passivity and sheltered nature. Leyla's feeling challenging by Tala caused her to become attracted to her and Tala became attracted to Leyla because of her need to bring her out of that shell.

ok I rlly loved this movie but no offense but I was rlly waiting for the defining moment before the sex scene where it's just like oh yeah they rlly like each other. I guess you could argue that it was when tala read leylas book or they were at the picnc but me and my friends do that and I'm not like in love w/any of them. after this they're like completely obviously in love but before that.....
