I love how they built up the commercial to make it look like the kid is looking at the girl, because that's what the audience is expecting. Or would be expecting if they hadn't read the title. But still, it really shows us that our brains are so hardwired to straight kids wanting other straight kids that we don't even consider gays to be a possibility, and when it happens, we're so surprised by it. Someone who is homosexual is attracted to the same sex while still identifying with their born sex. A gay male is still a man - he does not, in any shape or form, see himself as a woman. Now, a TRANSGENDERED person would need the gender reassignment surgery you mentioned. Their mental gender identity does not match their physical state; it's like being trapped in the wrong body.

The beginning of OUR time was created long after the Universe existed. "Time", as we know it by the 24 hour system, was non-existent when the Universe formed approximately 6 billion years before people. Sexuality would not have existed without people.

Are you aware that most primates and monkeys are a form of colorblind? This means that, at one point, our ancestors were completely colorblind. At one point and time, 100% of humans (like "Lucy") were colorblind. I would suggest looking up "evolution of color vision".
Therefore, we have gone from 100% to a mere 7% over the past 6 billion years. As I'm sure you're aware, evolution does not happen overnight.
