@iszalgocomin I thought it was, because you wouldn't be able to do anything that relates to data or programming without knowing hex and binary. Erosion corrupts data at given addresses, thus requiring that knowledge.

@gmodfan11 Firstly, you need to know that most applications on several systems follow an arrangement of HEADER, CODE, DATA. You want to use a start address of at least 1000 to skip the header, whatever it is. Next since you know that what you want to corrupt is code and not data(includes sfx, gfx), then you want to choose an end address using your best judgement. It can vary from app to app.

@gmodfan11 For roms, I set it up so that I can test it, restore it, and re-corrupt it on the fly. I typically get into hundreds of iterations, so many times I won't count the iterations. I also take several savestates from different locations of the game using the original rom, and load them with the corrupted rom. This way if the title crashes, you can skip it and see what the game does.
