  • If Tom Sawyer was in school today, he would have ADD or ADHD. He would be in school all the time and his aunt would consider going out on adventures in the woods too dangerous for him. He wouldn't con the other kids into painting the fence. He wouldn't be Tom Sawyer. Parents think they can get an easy way out of parenting by drugging their kids. What world do we live in now? This is insane.

  • I'm just saying, sometimes medication is actually needed. I keep trying to get him back on his adderall, partly because I think it'll help him calm the fuck down and partly because I know a few people who will pay good money for addies and my friend is always willing to give me whatever drugs he can get his hands on.

  • I have a friend who has been diagnosed with ADHD and Asperger's. He's not on any medication because his mom conceded to his request that she take him off of it when he was fifteen. Now he's twenty. He's an obnoxious, manipulative, compulsive liar who absolutely WILL NOT shut the hell up even if you beat the shit out of him. He used to steal things from us, he got kicked out of one town for getting mad and breaking a little boy's arm, and he has threatened suicide to get attention.

  • hey, Hey, HEY! <3 <3 <3

    Dis way, Miiiizzz MaddY?

    Dis way?! you little bitch!

  • @MrBigYum thnx for all the free promotion on ur myflopvidsandfailedrants account bahahaha

  • Kids get so many medications because people are too lazy to actually ask kids what is going on and the insurance companies and schools are too cheap to pay for counseling.

  • What about viagra for eryctyle disfunction.

  • Furthermore, all this shit can be chalked up to one thing: LAZY FUCKING PARENTING. People are too lazy to fucking discipline their kids and use this ADHD crap as an excuse not to deal with bad behavior because it's "too hard" to be a parent. I had friends like this who'd attempt "time out" for 15 minutes, but the kid would be back doing the same shit 5 minutes later. If you don't have the energy to RAISE your kids and discipline them like a decent parent would, then DON'T FUCKING HAVE KIDS.

  • BTW--this video is CLASSIC. It's interesting to note how few "cases" of this shit were diagnosed before video games, IPods, 24/7 internet access, texting, etc., In other words, all the technological crap that kids can't live without for longer than 30 seconds without going into seizures because they've got the attention spans of a gnat. Total sensory overload. People need to learn to sit the fuck still and just chill the fuck out w/out having to be "entertained" ever fucking waking second.

  • LMFAO. ADD/ADHD/ABCD/LMNOP/whatever letters of the alphabet you string together--it's all bullshit. Kids need a good swift kick in the ass and a few spankings, but NOOO--God forbid you DISCIPLINE little Johnny or Suzy beyond stickin' 'em in the fucking "time out" corner, 'cause fucking CPS will get on your ass & you get accused of "child abuse". I got spanked maybe 3-4 times during my entire childhood & I didn't become a fucking serial killer. Fuck "time out"--doesn't work. And ADHD is CRAP.

  • Its really funny i have add/adhd. I laughed my ass off.

  • I had ADHD bad when i was a kid and my mother would up my dose of ritalin to make me calm down.

  • ADD is very real. I've suffered with it my whole life. I do feel like they should have better ways of diagnosing it so that people can be taught how to deal with it at an early age, without being diagnosed with a bunch of medications their whole life. When I was growing up, it was unknown and if you had it then you were stuck trying to find your own ways to deal with it. ADD kids with proper medical treatment have proven time and again to have a high IQ and can do a lot with it, with guidance.

  • hey, there are upsides to these medications as well.. my kill - death ratio in counter strike doubled when I was taking aderal

the fact is though, you can beat add/adhd with a little determination and discipline, I now focus better than ever and I don't take hey anyone wanna go ride bikes

  • I somtimes think mad goes to far i have a problem that they f*** you mad tv

  • There is a lot of sad truth in this video. My Kindergarten teacher told my mother that I needed to be put on Ritalin. In Fourth Grade, I was tested for ADHD... I passed the test with flying colors. The truth of the matter is that I wasn't underdeveloped. I didn't have a learning disability. I was gifted... I was ahead of everyone else, and because I didn't know how to manage my time or energy, I got into trouble. But drugs wouldn't have solved that. They would have made the problem worse!

  • Zoloft actually makes Anxiety worse. It did for me at least....

  • i miss mad tv

  • My teachers tried to get me on that bullshit when I was 9. Just because I wanted to prove that the word "conundrum" is a real word to my dunce of a teacher. Never touched that stuff, just poured it down the toilet.

  • The guy giving pills to kids looks a character that should be in family guy

  • Was that Boy Babbling?

  • A Parody To The Song Conjunction Junction!

  • "Parents push the pills just to make you quiet." Truth right there. The down right truth. Funny as hell.

  • @TheSegafrogz It was back in the mid-late 80s sometime.

  • they left out the trademark "estatic" aniamtion of the boxcars.

  • weird to think that in times gone by, "hyper active" kids were praised as great warriors and leaders in difficult times. it really says a lot about a society that has come to exclude certain, perfectly natural, types of people :/ imagin Boudica, Shaka the Great or Alexander of Macedon were given this stuff in thier day

  • I have a pretty bad case of ADHD, if it weren't for adderal i'd be unable to get anything accompplished, i take the dosage im supposed to and it works.

  • @Dstorm20xx yes but could you learn to manage yourself and eventually cut back on the pills? Probally, many people learn to manage themselfs with mental problems like ADHD, Anxioty ect. If dyslexics can do it you can too

  • @kara2lucy

I take 1 pill on days that I'll need it, that's it.

  • @kara2lucy its not as easy as that.

but i understand. you really cant say that until you are someone who has a learning disorder or other

  • If we classify child development into ADD or ADHD that's pretty sad. Kids were not meant to shut up and sit still when there young. Now it's considered that if you have to much energy to sit down or listen to what a teacher has to say, then DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS!

If you won't listen to what we have to say, then rather than try to teach you and be patient, will use suppressant drugs....

If ADD exist, Then every single boy in the United states has it!

  • Y r parents acting like drug dealers 2 there own kids?? Y turn 2 drugging them up? it's sick thats wut ya'll learned n parenting class?

  • Well, this is offensive. Oh well. It's funny anyway.

  • my son likes the regular song "Conjunction Junction" (1974)

  • That's funny. But honestly ADHD is a load of bullshit. It's just a label they slap on kids who have a bit too much energy. (and who could blame em! There kids for god sake!) so once they label him/her with ADHD they feed the kid depressants to make him/her shut up. It's sad honestly.

  • @twostepRMX

If you think you can determine my son's illness with a loud opinion, what medical school did you flunk out of or go to in your imagination?

My son's illness is as real and as physical as a broken arm or diabetes, so you're the one full of bullshit. When you can show some credentials you'll be entitled to an opinion under appropriate circumstances. Till then, shut up.

  • @Davidkevin

Shut up, already. Whether ADHD is real or not, it's not exactly that big a deal isn't it? So he can't sit still, what a tragedy. This video isn't trying to make fun of people with ADHD, it's making fun of parents who push pills on their children so they won't have to feal with their behavior. Or when they overreact and think children have ADHD because they're hyper. And who cares if they make fun of you, can't you take a joke?

  • There's ADHD in my family and none of us need to be made fun of by "comedians".

Why don't you make fun of kids with cleft palates or deformed limbs while you're at it? There's a whole generation of Thalidomide babies -- now adults -- to mock.

    Prick bastards.

  • @Davidkevin It's not making fun of people with ADHD (or ADD), it's just making fun of giving drugs to kids who have it to shut them up. (That doesn't make it any more funny, or right, I'm just saying)

  • nice try im sure he was a wack bag long before meds

  • madtv is too much

  • Funny as hell, brilliant!

  • They didn't mention Lexapro

  • a.d.d express lol

  • omg i feel so bad sry ery1

  • i be not dum i smart.

  • How could this be offensive? It's not far from the truth.

I see parents doping up their kids because they "don't want to deal". I knew an 11 year old who was a drooling zombie from all the meds. The parents said "we want quiet family dinners, and now he can sit at the table and not make noise."

I said "why not let him leave the table when he's finished eating?"

They replied "it's OUR house, and we want things OUR way! We expect him to shut up when we want!"

  • i find this offensive because i take meds for anxiety! If u were like me u would feel bad! I know this is a joke but it still hurts! I need those pills or else i would freak out every second.

  • Waahh Waahh, I'm ADHD and didn't do drugs and got a 4.0, so kids should take drugs to make it easier to get a 4.0... WTF is that? You claim to be a success DESPITE ADHD and no medication, you are a poster child for this video. Going on Wellbutrin in your 50's might make you feel nice and happy and work better, that doesn't mean it's necessary to put every kid who acts up a little on drugs.

  • "Conjunction Junction" parody are "Dysfunction Junction"!

  • As an unmedicated person w/ ADHD who struggled in school (K-Univ.) working her butt off for top GPA & win scholarship $, this lampooning of meds shows profound misunderstanding for brain function issues folks have.

I'm now 52, finally on ADHD meds -- it's a wonderful relief to NOT struggle to process the constant barrage of input & think more clearly.

If your kid's got a fever, you'd give 'em a pain reliever to get them healthy.

    Same w/ADHD etc..

You give 'em what they need for health.

  • your a dipshit! my mom put me on meds and they fucked me up!!! i function perfectly fine without meds and my ADHD isn't even that active now... all you have to do is wait till the dysfunctions become dysfunctional, not pump your kid full of chemicals.

  • hmmmmm.... and I'll bet that you resorted to doing some other form of self-help ( i.e. smoking pot or using alcohol) to deaden your frustration levels while you did your "waiting game" for the reduction in dysfunction to happen.

And there is not need for name calling. keep a civil tongue in your head please.

  • nope, i've always lived a life free of drugs and alcohol and it doesn't bother me, it's like that stupid childhood friend that you never hang out with. also, i think it's you who needs a civil tongue! just cause i don't take meds doesn't mean i'm a junkie just because you say so. i'm really offended, you've never even met me and you assume that i'm a drug addict and an alcoholic because i don't take meds. that's probably what you did though... how else would you have come to that conclusion?

  • oh, and there is no waiting game. it's called "maturing". i grew older and over time it went away, i didn't sit in class and count down from 10. now i'm 16 and making my way through sophmore year without any issues. all you have to do is wait and by the time your learning the important stuff, you can do it without any issues...... unless you couldn't.

  • Very pleased you are drug free all the way around. Glad too, you are finding success w/ school. Marvelous that you have mild attentional issues and have been able to develop coping skills. Others w/cognitive function issues are not so lucky. As for illicit drug use, nope, but I've watched many ADHDs opt for this style of self-medicating. It is sad and painful to see occur. Not everyone "matures" out of their brain dysfunction..... so folks need to be respectful of their disability.

  • Oh, and ....as for my abilities.... I'm and have been capable of academic success; it's just not as difficult to meet the rigors of keeping a 4.0 GPA as it was before. Recall tasks are easier now because there is less brain clutter & static. Like a radio signal... thinking now comes in free of interference.

May you always have an easy path strewn with acceptance that fosters compassion within and kindness expressed outward. Peace.

  • oh, thanks.... now i feel like a jerk. sorry

  • 1:09-1:18 lol!

  • Again, the show's neo-con writers insist we should be able to hit, spank or yell at our children for behavioral problems/ disorders by "good ol fashioned" abuse/ discipline. The overdiagnosis of ADHD, OCD or bipolar, autism or Aspergers, and Tourettes maybe from better techniques by pyschiatrists over the decades, but the skit blames it on parents, teachers & the big pharma-backed doctors or hospitals. I guess to "fix a troubled" child is to give em pills to make 'em behave not like their age. +

  • @devulboy1 Damn fucking straight they should be able to DISCIPLINE their kids beyond the "time out" B.S.. Spanking is NOT abuse. You never heard of this shit years ago, because parents actually DISCIPLINED their kids, not 'cause they weren't diagnosed with this crap. Everyone's scared of being accused of child abuse for SPANKING. "Acting their age" does NOT include constant inappropriate behavior. There's kid behavior, and then there's behavior that needs GOOD OLD FASHIONED FUCKING DISCIPLINE.

  • Wake up the Sheep!!!

  • This is complete nonsence! Taking pills when you are a kid does not have any side effects what so ever. I took zologt since i was three and I never once _drool_. Exuse me...

    bfjdmsadhmukvdoihlfhmnhdkgkjndikghjxikgcijhhyz;hjldbif;lxsgh

    -falls asleep- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • mmmmmmmmmm.........zzzzzoloft

  • grate that awsome

  • LOL @1:22

  • once i heard respredoll i knew it was drugs cause my brothers have to take it

  • OMG this is soo true about schools.

  • And we wonder why kids have problems...

  • Lawl its still funny though :)

  • Fuck you Zoloft. You made my brother try to kill himself T____T

  • :'(

  • i try to kill my self to on that shit i had a knife i was going to stab my self in the brain because i was hearing shit

  • @TheMilfman7 Ummm I got to ask, why didnt your family tell the doctors that he was showing signs of depresson...and why did he take a pill that was advertised on TV thats a sure sign of crappy medicine

  • @TheMilfman7 What does T________T mean?

  • @stanleykubrick98 person crying. Top of the T is the eyes closed shut, and the stem of the T is the tears and shit. and the underscores are the mouth. there. You see it now? :P

  • @TheMilfman7 Yeah, I see it now.

  • @TheMilfman7 Your brother had a negative reaction to Zoloft? I did too! I started having intrusive violent thoughts with Zoloft, that doesn't sound like a good sign....

  • @TheMilfman7 Trust me i know how you feel

  • my gosh i take zoloft and this was the FUNNIEST thing i've ever seen!!!!! i mean as long as you don't actually take it seriously it's hyserical :)

  • i take luvox!

  • I have ADD and BiPolar Disorder. lol, but I just take copious amounts of coffee, that oes the trick for the ADD, lol. And then I just deal with the mood swings....

I agree with the psycho drug pusher parents of todays culture. I try not to take meds if I can help it.

  • I may have adhd, or it's just my culture. I probably don't.. but I dance to take my edge off.

  • onething i always thought about the real video this makes fun of is where is the engine thats moving all those cars around

  • i can't get over how funny this is

  • Those trains were full of diseases!

  • Stupidity kills.

  • Hilarious!!!

  • Yeah, I think it's sad now that any kid who can't sit still now is instantly thought of to have AD(H)D. Show me a five year old that CAN sit still for five minutes! And then they put 'em up on all these drugs as a quick fix when there are other alternatives like yoga, or martial arts lessons (worked for my friend). Remember that one time when every kid was diagnosed with ADD, put on drugs, then they came down with depression at the age of twelve and then were put on even MORE drugs? Sad really.

  • @EternityEyes I agree totally, I just got diagnosed and Im 18, with ADD because I learned how to sit down and focus when I was younger. But I do admit the pill dose help me stay focused on boring subjects

  • @EternityEyes first im again all the so called mental help drugs. But ritaline is a stimulant(upper) so if you dont have Add and u take it it will have the opposed affect

  • @EternityEyes Seriously!! And what's up with that AIRLINE FOOD?! Am I right??

  • @EternityEyes

yea they should rename ADD or ADHD, KBK which means Kids Being Kids

  • Can someone PLEASE upload the "Interjections!" parody???

  • SNL is nowhere near what it used to be back in the days when Eddy Murphy was a key player. MAD TV now has it beat hands down.

  • That was an absolute scream.

  • Remember that funny thing that was on MADTV?

    Nah, me neither....

  • oooh im peaking and you add ppl lighten up its not like add is a serious or even real problem

  • omfg i have add i could care less

  • why cant you people just enjoy the humor and not be so serious about it?

  • stick with SNL folks

  • i have ADD, and i found this funny.

You should be able to laugh at yourself

  • Why not, people are already laughing at you...

  • they are, i just laugh along with them

  • My old boss had severe ADD, and it was a key factor in his ability to do the kind of work he did. When he took his pills, he could not do that part of his job. Glad you have a sense of humor about yourself. :-)

  • yeah most of the fortune 500 companies have add/adhd.i have add....i'm a fucking spaz(AT TIMES),and i don't take pills.WHY because what i've learned (from my childhood) is you can either spend $120.oo for adderall,OR beat the fuck out of the kid.apperently the free one was effective(enough).AHAHAHAH i hate my life...

  • I have ADHD and I thought it was hilarious

  • notice that they pour thing ON the tankers

  • Soma, anyone? You can carry your morality around in a bottle.

  • I was at one point given both zoloft AND concerta.

I pulled out all my hair.

    I've been off meds since.

The FDA can go fuck itself.

  • why?

  • We need the pills because we expect the wrong thing from kids.

Years ago, the school day was shorter and they had more sports and other activities. There was also no TV. Kids had afterschool jobs, and they weren't all expected to "get into college."

Nowadays we exect the kids to sit through a longer school days, with less P.E., fewer enjoyable activities (shop and mechanics class are gone), and too much studying.

  • Amen!

  • MAMA I DONT WANNA DO MI HOMEWORK I WANT TO WATCH TV YOU CANT MAKE ME YOU- mmm a green one

    jajajaj!

  • sounds like my lil brother lol

  • DOPIN' UP KIDS WITH BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS!! :)

omg, this shit is so funny!

  • How many Public School House Rock sketches are there and what are the names of each one?

  • it's funny couse it's true

    sad :(

  • Now i have Aspergers aka watered down of Autism this video is still hillarious in my mind.

  • omg i have that too!!!

  • It's canned laughter. Something very nasty about it.

  • adderall and Dexedrine are fun :)

  • Hrmm.. I think thats called, "drug abuse."

  • not if your ad/hd like me. i have used both and they work but i hate they

  • The part that's most like real life is the whole "the give you a quick fix to make you feel real and when you go to school you won't act like a fool.".

It's not the kids fault, it's a result of lazy parents. And why is 95% of ADD drug use in the United States and Canada alone? Do kids in Europe not have behavioural problems? OR are North American drug companies glorified drug pushers? My parents made me take some Adderall but I got spacey and numb so they stopped because I was a zombie.

  • Good point. I'd say you were lucky. My parents saw it was making me a zombie but continued it for several years. I'm not sure what the permanent effects are, but its not good i can promise you that. That we should bathe the developing brains of children in Neurotoxins. You ask why this is so strong in America? A major profit is turned out from pills sold. One might ask if these diseases are real or as serious as they say. Tired leg syndrone? Anti anti social pills? Weight loss drugs?

  • It's all a load of crap. This is a made up diagnosis meant to sell more pills. There is no way that all the kids who are given Ritalin, 1 in 10 US schoolchildren, have A.D.D. It is exactly what the video says "They want a quick fix like a happy meal to make you feel real so they don't gotta deal." They just don't want to even consider that school is boring.

  • @homestarfan2008 yeah i mean you don't have to have a college degree to know that school's boring.

  • without meds i'd be a dead woman literally. Over-diagnosis is dangerous. But so is mis-diagnosis. I'm lucky that i have a shrink who uses medicine very sparingly and cautiously, the RIGHT way, to see in a scientific manner how it affects me. You can't just go *bang* 200 mg of zoloft and think it's gonna "cure" you. ppl see it doesnt work, then they go off it cold after 2 weeks (not enough time) and do the same thing w/ another pill. also you need talk therapy, not just drugs, to really help.

  • @skunkfromtheashes i can't remember the name of the medication but the first time i took it it made me super sleepy during school and after school. i took a similar medication during 4th and 5th grade and my grades excelled, mostly in science but still. i think it was ritalin but i don't know for sure.

  • I suggest you look at who developed a lot of these so-called "neurotoxins" before you start with the "North American drug companies" rubbish. Adderall (Shire - UK), Risperdal (Janssen - Belgium), MTPH (e.g., Ritalin - Novartis, Switzerland)... NONE of these is a North American company.
