  • visceral, growling, emotional; sounds like saying goodbye to an old friend, for the last time. brilliant.

  • music doesn't need big words to sound intelligent

  • It's a shame that people can't talk about a good song like this without mentioning tripping. If you really appreciate this music, you shouldn't need drugs to do it.

  • i'm sober right now and I feel like I just peaked after eating a quarter of shrooms

  • i once had this playing in my car and as the song built and built a massive thunderstorm came over me and right when the beat really came in the rain started pouring, and as the song faded out the rain got lighter and stopped and the clouds cleared with sun shining through. definitely one of the most unreal experiences ive had.

  • Yeah, its like your brain is hardwired to recognize the melody or something.. Listened to the original when i was tripping on shrooms. its beautifull..

  • still the best tune ive ever heard, reminds me of dreams i didnt know i'd even had

  • pretty fucked up. I like it...

  • the only guys who will ever understand me are these guys...

  • drug use in the creation of music, to me, is irrelevant. regardless of what substance a human being is or is not on, music is an expression of the innate.

  • @meredithmeredithful truth yet some natural substance of the same source can act symbiotically through human consumption as a means to reconnect one to the innate, as found in nature. i'm talking entheogens, or course

  • @meredithmeredithful but musical expression acts as a channel to the same source that these substance do, and intermixing the two certainly isn't a necessity, though sometimes in the mystical states these two human phenomena share, one prompts the other....

  • What a wonderful track and remix, heavenly!

  • does anyone else get the most insane nostalgic feeling ever when listening to this?

  • @myroflcopter you seriously explained it all.

  • Unreal..

  • This is like Beethoven's Ninth, to me, in the sense that the first time I heard it I didn't get it and didn't like it. I now get it. I now like it.

  • :D

  • This!!!

  • This is rubbish

  • insane textures at the beginning, the awesome thing is everybody on here probably was picturing something different in their mind and the fact we were is a testament to this song

  • This is one of the best things I've ever heard. It is so very nostalgic that I don't even need drugs to have a trip by listening to it.

  • Love it! Mind blowing remix!

  • You're a fucking asshole and shouldn't ruin BoC songs like this.

  • first 4 minutes are just douchey bullshit...

  • @TRBNGR666 Nah it's ambiance, it creates atmosphere...If you were high you would probably find it more interesting. He really takes his time here..

  • @TRBNGR666 Actually not that the remix is divided into 3 parts for 9:19.

Part 1 0:00-2:02 has ambient music with ambient synthesizers with aeroplanes on the Highway

then at 2:03-2:16 Silence with sound effects 2:14-2:16 and Part 2 2:17-6:11 with

Silence 3:36-3:48 Fade in 3:49-4:09 then rock the party with the remix of Dayvan Cowboy

at 4:10-5:39 then Fade Out 5:40-6:11 then Silence 6:12-6:47 Part 3 6:48-9:05 then Silence 9:06-9:19 then

That's the end of the remix.Do you see what I'm saying!

  • @benjaminkabukabu yes that definitely changes my perspective, thanks

  • @TRBNGR666 Also What changes my perspective is not only the likes

of Boards of Canada or Royksopp in September 1997-June 2006.It's my music and my albums

from 2013-forever and selling 780 million copies worldwide and winning hundreds of awards and becoming

the biggest selling artist of the UK better than nowadays artists like Tinie Tempah En Dubz Magnetic Man or Katy B.And 9,000,99 million people all around the world supported me..........

  • @TRBNGR666 and also Supporting Charities in 2025-forever and writing songs and soundtracks

about real life problems and changing records labels and record producers younger or older than me.

And also people all around the world will be voting for me on the internet in February 2014 to get

Grammy Awards and other awards for Best New Artist. And also this video helps me to remember my childhood

from August 2000-July 2010 and to follow many events for many years.

  • @TRBNGR666 and also to put all the haters of my music to shame and have

9,000,99 fans of my music worldwide and have 0 dislikes.Got IT!

  • @benjaminkabukabu well when you put it like that...Your music SUCKS!

  • @TRBNGR666 No There's not one rubbish song by me.All of my songs are excellent and

I'm selling 780 million records worldwide.Lot's of people know me since I was a baby.

  • @benjaminkabukabu you seem delusional bro.

  • @benjaminkabukabu 17 subsricbers and no uplaods im confused?

  • it almost sounds like the beginning is a sample from the Saving Private Ryan Soundtrack - Omaha Beach. Just distorted as hell. Then the actual remix kicks in. Strictly my crazy mind though.

  • This remix came out when I was 9 years old in Year 4 on July 21 2006

when I ran out of the door with a bag of sweeties with my classmates

doing a loud cheer when we went home.I played this remix

on August 20 2006 when I was playing the whole EP

Trans Canada Highway. I played this remix on August 20 2006.

  • i came back to this video just to say that this song means a lot to me. the original dayvan cowboy does too. something about this song gives me flashbacks to early parts of my life. i really miss those times. i'm young but i've forgotten so much. this song helps me remember.

  • This song makes me drift away from tangible reality.

I don't know if I like being there, but I'll tell you one thing: I rather enjoy the ride.

  • THIS IS AMAZING!

  • There are 4 dream-like echoing notes at 3:30 which are distinctly Dayvan Cowboy, very emotive. I also hear a resonating bagpipe-like nod to BOC.

Very much a soundscape. And very cool.

  • LSD

  • fuuuuck i can listen to this over and over

  • Aren't remixes supposed to resemble the record being remixed?

  • @johnnyjohn2005 no you're thinking of what is called a cover

  • @johnnyjohn2005 A remix is a reimagining of a song. It doesn't have to resemble it at all.

  • What's with all this hostile discussion? Mellow out for chrissakes!

  • nuda nuda a potem tylko nuda

  • Worst Remix I've ever heard.

Call it something else, but don't call it Dayvan Cowboy.

As Dayvan Cowboy, this song never starts, it stops here and there, but never becomes anything like Dayvan.

Just make your own damn song!!

  • i wouldnt advise it

  • at 3:00, it's sounds as if someone opened a box of sorts and unleashed a intermingled blend of sounds and music

  • Comment removed

  • This is like a communion with a higher being. This is a trippy song.

  • This song reminds me of electric fields fors some reason.

  • this is my elemnet odd nosdam

  • Dude... your a dick!

  • You most feel proud or smart for your comments but all in all none of it makes sense.

  • Just because what we're doing is incorrect in your opinion doesn't mean we have to stop doing it. Would you like to see proof? Allow me to display it. Let's assume that just because what we're doing is incorrect in your opinion *does* mean that we have to stop doing it. Naturally, we must assume that, because we cannot *not* stop doing it, something will immediately stop us -- however, the present is here, and I see nothing stopping us. We continue the discussion as though nothing has happened.

  • what the fuck am i reading

  • Cheese on rye, that's what.

  • definatelly its psychedelic drugs visions sound n music

  • fuck you and your "rules". they dont exist.

  • you havent got a fucking clue.

  • neither do you.

"there are rules in music, blah fucking blah"

know what you're looking for right away?

    you're an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • explain these "rules" properly then, smart ass.

have a nice life, enjoy your leukemia

  • @cullyvan umm, shutup and get over it maybe???

  • Comment removed

  • F**k everyone: shut up ignorants. close your mouth and listen to BOARD OF CANADA. f**k everything else

  • you can curse on the internet.

  • @xxmarka really?....Fuck!

  • @xxmarka

I dont think you fucking can you cunt !

  • @xxmarka and in real life

  • Yes, everyone is entirely ignorant aside from myself and my own opinions. Let me be brash in telling you fellows that you must cease from discussing various matters concerning Boards of Canada and that you listen to Boards of Canada.

  • people stop generalizing about using drugs to make this music...some people are just very creative and original. i'm not denying that drugs don't aid in music but not everyone does it and as a musician, it's very insulting.

    cheers

  • Amen. All i ever did with dope is get stuck in a loop.

  • try acid or shrooms..

  • @TheFeelin89 Listened to a lot of weird shit out there and never tried an ounce of anything, and never will. Wholeheartedly agree. Don't need drugs to make OR enjoy weird-ass music.

  • @InstinctualJealousy Ahhh, I see what you did there. We all know sugar cubes don't weigh a full ounce.

  • @TheFeelin89 I am pretty sure they have experiemented - I read it in one of thier rare interviews.

  • @TheFeelin89 yeah our brains generate natural drugs like dmt and melatonin

  • @TheFeelin89 Amen.

  • what the fuck is this shit. what'd you do to the song. this is some crazy shit but I cant help but like it.

  • awesome video man!!! two thumbs up.

  • 5 stars for the video. and 6 for this awesome remix.

  • I trip on robitussin and get down to Boards Of Canada all the time, I love them to death

  • Don't be silly.

Get some good mushrooms and do it properly if you wish to trip

  • kids and their cough medicine :/

  • EPIC

  • How is it even POSSIBLE to make music like this ?

  • Ahhhh, i love this genre. Boards of canada have to be the best but odd nosdam is very talented as well.

  • my only criticism relates to the music itself - i can barely hear anything familiar from Dayvan Cowboy - I'm not even sure this is a remix. Aside from that, it's still a great track and a beautiful video.

  • thats cause its dayvan cowbow in reverse.

  • @M36RY4N The strings in Dayvan Cowboy are slowed down, and the notes of the guitar were probably distorted.

  • Very organic.

  • I love ambient music and I am completely sober. In my eyes, the music can achieve highs even greater than the ones you get by putting foreign substances in your body.

  • Agreed. Personally, I only get high on life. That's all the drugs I and anyone would ever need, really.

  • odd nosdam- level live wires

    highly recommended

  • I most definitely second that

  • Absolutely fantastic Thank you!

  • beautiful song. definitely one of my favorites.

  • Excellent. Very good remix.

  • I get mad with it all the time but am just glad this has been put up or I would prob never have heard it, thanx

  • who cares!? Drugs may be bad, but has brought artists like BoC to a new conciousness that inspired them to write masterpieces like this! Without drugs, all of the music today would sound like Christan rock!

  • that is not true, and as a musician i find that insulting. I never said that drugs were bad, but that i found the music intoxicating. I'm sure that any well rounded musician would find what you just said offending.

  • alright i apologize for what i said, but i must say, i know for a fact that drugs were involved in making this masterpiece of a track.

  • Go on - how do you know that for a fact?

  • No need to apologise for your comment there Nicetry75.

Music is for the better for drugs.

We may not be as a society, but the 60s brought out the best of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream and you can go on.

Matt Bellamy from MUSE uses Shrooms once a year to "SEE" other approaches

  • Matt does shrooms? Awesome. Muse is my favorite band and now has gone up in stature in my book :D

  • they almost got kicked out of japan for wacky adventures around the streets on shrooms and trashed hotel rooms involving hookers.

from the mouth of the man himself.

  • like omg offended

  • I second that.

    I most certainly did.

  • The biggest source of creation is usually uncontrollable emotion. Its funny, because being bipolar I don't need drugs to achieve this. Thats why I say people should leave it up to biology. Let those of us bred to be creative be creative and those people who destroy their bodies and brains with drugs go off and find something else less taxing.

I don't need drugs to do music, write, paint or draw. Please don't generalize.

  • Agreed. That was some of the most ignorant shit I've ever heard.

  • wow....what a self-loving, ignorant tosser...

  • neither do i. you're a dick. because you are bipolar we should just let you take over the music making?

    fuck off.

bred for creativity? you're an idiot.

  • To begin, I was simply making a joke. So the mere fact that you could get so pissy because you were unable to pick up on the sarcasm of it makes you an ass buddy. Secondly, I still do agree that if you need drugs to produce art and music then you are pathetic. So if you fall under that category, then you are an even bigger dick/idiot than you believe me to be. And sense we are on the subject, scientifically people ARE born with early an disposition to excel better than others including art.

  • well first off there was NO indication of sarcasm at all.

merely "look at me on my high horse".

tone cant be asserted through text.

im not disputing anything about people needing to use drugs or anything like that, you basically said that since you have bipolar that means you should say what goes? no. and for a start, im not a burnout. you pretty much are up your own ass but fuck it, enjoy being a pompous douche :D

  • Hey , for the sake of just about everything, you should start being nice. If you are curious about these rules (and you dont want to spend years and years learning musical theory) then you should have a look at the book 'this is your brain on music' by Daniel Levetin. It's a good book.

One more thing on the rules thing, you dont have to follow them of course but in order to break them its best that you know what they are to begin with, then you can bend them.

  • Comment removed

  • If you don't believe, spend less time getting high, marveling at the creations of others over the internet, and get educated like me. You'd be surprised by some of the things you will discover. Once again, sorry you got so pissy over an old post that you didn't understand. But I won't it against you. For the sake of humor, however, I will end by saying Fuck off you burnout nagging twat. :)

  • dont do drugs. listen to boards of canada instead.

  • how bout do BOTH!!!!!!!

  • wtf? drugs?

lol coz its psychadelic u guys think of drugs...

    srsly...

Its a very very good remix! thank you for uploading it.

  • I know, right? I listen to plenty of psychedelic work, even created some woozy work myself, and I don't do drugs.

  • but you have done them right? xD

if not you're missing out on experiencing your own work in a new way

  • "If you don't think drugs have done good things for us, then take all of your records, tapes and CD's and burn them. "

    -Bill Hicks

Who the fuck cares whether you do drugs or not? Nosy, NOSY fucking people. STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING WITH THEIR FREE TIME!

  • get pissed

  • because of music like this i do not need drugs.

  • thank you drugs

  • yeh this sorta music seems like damn good fun to get stoned to... not that i am ever going to try lol another good song all ya people may like is Massive attack - teardrop

  • yeah, i listened to BoC while on a large dose of shrooms and it changed me, almost a year and i still feel so inspired and alive when i hear them

  • awesome aint they i posted that 2 weeks ago and ime still listening to the only 12 songs of thiers i have on my mp3

  • I personally find it really interesting :)

BOC we want you in Barcelonaaaaaaaaaaa!

    (That would be imposible though)

    XD

  • I do not agree completely my friend. Why should you be on drugs to listen to this music? I think that the only good thing about drugs is that in some cases they are inspirational ( so many artists use drugs). BOC are inspirational without the drug part. P.S. drugs suck

  • some people have had intense experiences while on drugs listening to BOC for the first time, so they have a stronger emotional link to those synergistic experiences.

  • It's just a different point of view of one of the best's songs of BOC...

If you differe with the artist make up your own artistic interpretation, and we will then coment on it*

  • Dreamy visuals...

I'd like to share one in a similar genre -

    youtube. com/watch?v=mrMhrHgcPho

  • i finished a bag of Cool Ranch to this

  • nosdam is the shit!

  • Wow what a boring remix. BoC is already laid-back enough. People don't need to stretch it out with lots of empty noise. Oh well.

  • Only Odd Nosdam could try to make a weightless and happy track into an ambient track of 3 parts.

  • This is an all together different song. Its not Dayvan cowboy at all. Why didnt he just make his own creation instead of leaching off of BoC. Too long, boring, and uneventful.

  • fyi, nosdam was asked by boc to do the remix; the name of the modern remix game is to "make it new," and in most cases, the final piece is original-artist-approved, resulting in more of a strange/unique collaboration rather than a redundant "new" version of the same song (check out the 12" dance remixes for those '80s pop songs...madonna...duran duran...)

  • ahahahah, I thought it said ad naseum, but it says odd nosedam... nevermind you wouldn't understand

  • this track reminds me of the early 90's tunes of KLF days...chill out and trippy, the kind of tune you'd listen to on a summers day with a spliff.

    Rod

  • great video! Definitely worth 5 stars. Please try out my strange musical instrument quiz when you have time.

  • Woah Boards of Canada on YouTube...

  • Omg, I'm only 3 seconds in and im pumped..this shall be dope:)

  • K, I finished listenning, pretty cool, but the original is much better.

  • words.

    good vid mr fan.

after seein a couple of vids made for nosdam tracks and listening to his whole discography, I feel pretty free to call his music Kaleidophonic. or Kaleidosonic.

Kaleidophonic hiphop. sometimes. ambiental. noise. experimental. atmospheric. sometimes.

    - It reacts and projects and tracks and it gets to the max, it's in depth, it attacks/ but it's Relax With Pep

  • wow your a tosser

  • oh man, that's funny because I know what it means vaguely but it's funnier still because you're english

  • Digging the beatz on this track! Flows really good, keep ripping that shit!

  • lovely
