Yep, on the last day of the war in Europe the 10th PRG spent the day escorting in surrendering planes. They encountered a few hostile pilots and they were shot down or ortherwise forced to ditch. Some of the Germans were carrying passengers crammed into their radio compartments behind the cockpits, desperate to escape capture from the Russians.
While the actual dialouge is made up here, the paint and names of the pilots is as accurate as I could manage

These are F-6C photo recon Mustangs depicted here. The 10th also used F-6Ds which looked like the P-51D but with the accommodations for the cameras.
