  • Mild cam, Big Cam.

    Either way it goes, It should still have a little bit of a lope.

  • @gibsonlespaul2 my 95 has a mild cam and its just a tiny bit lumpy, but you can tell when you drive it, huge difference over my much more heavily modified '00 with stock cam. if the power band is a low rpm it wont have trouble idling, it gets a little lumpy but you can just notice it. also with 3" dual exhaust hes losing back pressure big time so the lump couldnt happen anyways.

  • Now with that cam, did you adjust the computer or have to upgrade your valvetrain? Just curious, i have a 2001 ram 5.2 and am starting to work on it, so far its got the flowmaster 40 series and soon to come the k&n intake. But im tyring to get an idea, thanks.

  • I know this is probably the last concern when building an engine for more horsepower but what kind of fuel Mileage difference did the cam make? I am planning to rebuild my 360 soon and I am considering a mild cam so I am curious. Are the ported heads the only other thing you changed it's pretty much factory other then cams, heads, and exhaust?

  • yea its called mild, that way it doesn't run rough at low rpms so I didn't have to change torque converter. Only difference between a mild cam and stock is more mid rpm range power.

  • a cam dont dont have any suck thing as a lope althou it does have bigger lift than a stock cam ive stuck bigger cams in lots of motors and most of them u couldnt tell the differce

  • @fordboy111591 ARE you just fucking stupid... lope is what they call the sound a cam makes with a choppy idel..aka lift measures how far the valve is opened, duration tells how long the open cycle lasts. How long there is given in degrees of crankshaft rotation..which = a lope dumb shit... just search "cam lope" and im 21...i only mouth off when people try to sound like they know what their talking about

  • it pops on maybe once every two or three months but then I just clear it and I'm good for a few months

  • well I didn't say it was a big huge .600 lobed cam, its a "MILD" cam, mild cams give you more mid range power without having to switch to a stall converter, yes its "mildly cammed" its more aggressive than stock, but not radical, thats why it says mild cam in the title, so people wouldn't jump my ass

  • Yea I did.......i missed it so i bought it back because some shit was wrong with it and he didn't wanna fuck with it.

    Fixed ball joints, and got a new transmission and its good as new. Its been a headache but I'm glad i got it back.

  • I just spent about 3 months looking for a good cam for mine, I settles with a COMP CAM, they have hundreds for a 360 ranging from hydraulic flat tappet all the way to solid roller cams. You can go as mild or as extreme as you want, some cams will required many other engine changes. If you need any other info, write to me.

  • My cam is nothing special just a purple shaft mild cam......I recommend a Mopar Purple Shaft cam or a Comp Cams cant go wrong either way.

  • have you ever had any check engine lights come on with the cam?

  • once every few months the check engine light will pop on but I just reset the computer and it goes away.............usually doesn't come back on for like 4 or 5 months.

  • 7" Skyjacker lift, its a 5" Skyjacker lift plug 2" leveling kit and 2" blocks in the back

  • I would go with a Comp Cams Camshaft, or a Purpleshaft Mopar Camshaft with a .450 lift and not sure what kinda lifters, thats up to you to check around on.

  • nice truck. you should take out the fuse to get rid of that buzzer sound. i did it to my truck and its nice now that i dont hear that stupid buzz. theres a fuse in the fuse box that is for that buzzer. nothing will screw up if u take it out.

  • cat back dual exhaust 3inch pipes with 4.5inch tips. Cat is punched out.

  • Sounds Nice.. Question.. I want to get a Mopar Performance Pcm. Do you have it? does it work, and most importanly does it raise the rev limiter? I got a Comp Cams which should work up to 5800 rpm but my computer has a rev limiter around 5250. 97 Dodge Ram 4x4.

  • I do not have a mopar pcm, it does work and it does raise the rev limiter tho. Mine has a rev limiter of 5500.

    that truck will fucking move bein a 2WD short box.

  • I have a very very mild mopar purpleshaft cam......I would recommend atleast a .450 lift Mopar Purpleshaft cam thats what i am upgrading too
