  • After a few month's of listening to almost only Zeppelin, it's SO nice to come back to a band that doesn't stand for excess.

I've missed you Clash, but i'm back now.

  • 77people who have no idea of what REAL is. Who needs em. We got each other. And we've got the memory of The Clash. And the music will live on forever!! Thats REAL.

  • cool i am ur girl toy

  • 77 people are police or thieves

  • 77 dislikes? What the hell? Friggin Fascists.

  • joe strummer is a genial

  • they'll come - just need some more time to simmer...

  • With the US and UK in the same straits that they were in the 80's, it is telling that there are no bands like the Clash. The corporatization of "art" seems complete.

    Long live the Clash!

  • Comment removed

  • @nfrasc1

yes but it wasn't a corporation. it was a guy looking for a real band/ and they are a REAL BAND!!

  • @nfrasc1 Utter rubbish, they were not manufactured.

  • Comment removed

  • @nfrasc1 by using {4} you are using wiki, come back and argue when you were drinking with them. They may have been put together, but they were not manufactured the way groups are now. There was no, lets get 4/5 boys together, do this or that, etc. Not trying to argue, but I was around then, had many a pint with them, I will prefer my messed up memory to wiki.

  • Have you ever tripped and listened to the Clash?

  • more than a punk band, they were years ahead their time... i like this version even more than the original murvin/perry-tune

  • dude this song sounds so awseome its the guitar

  • Simonon's bassline makes this song what it is

  • clarkyboy67, your words leave us speechless! CLASH is awesome!

  • @highschoolmusical841 *prediction was right* how surprising. yeah, i wish i kept up arguments as well, but people just ignore me or go to my channel to vandalize it, if your so important to say "you could always just go fuck yourself..." why not do the same? red pages is right on everything, and you were wrong, i think that makes you a bit more useless. i think like red pages said; your name speaks louder than you.
  • @highschoolmusical841

    nerd, lifeless nerd,

at least my friend redpages has SOME form of respect.

i wouldnt be budging mindlessly into this lil' argument that you cant seem to drop,

but i happen to be a good friend.

just drop the damn act already, and DONT reply with the stupid "thats not what i meant you brainless fuck" because that wont end good for you.

  • This is my favorite Clash performance on film. I like how it's shot and I love how we can see Joe close up..sweat, spit, chipped teeth and all. He's not worried about the slick, "rock star" image. The music and the conveying of a message are the most important things. My favorite covers, such as this one, attempt to do something new with what is already a great song. I love these guys.

  • This thread is Dildos

  • @clarkyboy67 thats wisdom cheerios from south east asia

  • Buena!

  • nice T-Shirt ('RAF'); to use the sign ('Red Army Fraction, star, and gun') in public still counts as a criminal offense in Germany.

  • @7ot7eN That being said, Joe is wearing a Brigade Rosse T-Shirt, an Italian terrorist group.

  • l'original est de Junior MURVIN, c'est un bijou que les Clash ont un peu amoché en le faisant rocker

  • the name of this song in mexico would be police and drug dealers, scaring the nation with guns and amunition

  • Well there's the police. And the "rioters" are nothing but thieves.

  • looooooooooooooool i don't mind people taking originals and making their own but this is so bad people please listen to the original by junior murvin lol 1977

  • Boys I go away of trip to seek and to know the members the clash that are alive it will look for them for inglaterra I love you the clash

  • From the moment that I knew the clash I perceived his energy of changing the world in exchange for nothing because of it it will mount a band as them to change the world thank you the clash I love you

  • English police apparently shoot first ask questions later, look at Mark Duggan and Jean Charles Menezes and nobody is held accountable, scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition.

  • @SickOmega Duggan had a loaded gun..a real and inlicensed gun on him when he was shot. As the saying goes "Live by the sword..Die by the sword."

  • Great video of the Clash. Joe Strummer was a true rocker. Did talk a lot through his arse though. But still, true to his beliefs.

  • @clarkyboy67 but is a cover, i'm glad you like reggae lyrics too.

  • Oi oi Tottenham!

  • two kids doing much more tham most of us will ever do

  • i like the name jimmyjazz, great song

  • Great song, sounds almost foreign

  • para los estudiantes de chile, todos a las calles a sacar al gobierno infame de piñera

  • When/where was this recorded? So young...and alive RIP Joe x

  • @ibusinessmediatube - Was filmed at Barbarellas in Birmingham in Summer of 1977!

  • When/where was this recorded? So young...

  • @MrAnonEmouse1 cool, gonna have to watch that now.

  • Midnight To Strummer.

  • SCARING THE NATION WITH THEIR GUNS AND AMMUNITION!!

    RIP JOE STRUMMER

  • Welcher Song von den Broilers hört sich so an (vom Rythmus, klang), da war doch eins verdammt ....

  • Sorry not even close... does not have the soul or feeling like The original. cool remake tho.

  • @lynch42o Its not about having “Soul”. The first album didn’t have enough tracks, so they decided to make a rock n roll version.

This is the farthest thing from the original, so you may as well say that “Sweet Child O Mine” didn’t have soul like Junior Murvins “police And Theives”.

  • mi idoloooOoOOoO¡¡ sin duda alguna¡¡

  • amphetamines!

  • i have that shirt :)

  • Rock out with your cock out.

  • the "real deal"

  • Brilliant.

  • Nice user name haha

  • This kicks ass. And while it's controversial, hell yes @ the RAF

  • @offensive80 The shirt was made to be against the RAF. Its a Brigade Rosse shirt. Brigade Rosse was an Italian terrorist group from the 60/70’s. Joe bought the shirt because his dad, being a foreign diplomat (but strangely, Joe was poor as hell after he left home) was constantly talking about them.

  • @PBANDSNOW My mistake. I just saw RAF and didn't connect it. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • @PBANDSNOW terrorist group is a bit extreme, eventhough they were quite extreme. maybe you should call the extremists. (;

  • @thomasvdeng They were extreme, but aren’t extremists. There an Italian Leninist Terrorist group.

  • HAHAHAHA i had Voodoo Child playing in the backround to this and it actually fits :D

  • oh yeah

  • The police is only to protect the Rich people who stolen it all from the hard workers.

  • 75 dislikes??? they must be hip hop fans lol or just nobodys with taste in their a s s e s.......... "Hear what i say"... long live The Clash

  • @nevetsyelkcub hip hop fans? the clash were hip hop fans idiot

  • @wookiewhat Hip hop barely existed in the 70s

They were mainly influenced by other Punk bands aswell as Reggae groups.

  • @Donkeyn00b thats not the point... in the early 80s when they made sandinista they used to call mick jones "wack attack" because he liked rap and hip hop so much. they made rap tracks like The Magnificent Seven

  • Youtube must have an error because its only showing my views on the video?

  • 40 ppl are polica and 35 are thieves

  • Brilliant

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICK!!!

  • CLASSIC!!!!!! RIP JOE S.

  • (insert number of people who disliked here) (insert stupid action or threat here)

  • @MrSeabass1991 HAR!

  • how sad is it that the top two comments are about the dislikes and not about how kickass this tune is... get over it...

  • @AsaBenson Your comment is about the dislikes too.

  • great joe ,the story of a generation

  • @highschoolmusical841

First of all, I'll pass on that. And It's Simonon. Not Simeon. Quit trying to be a know it all. You suck at it. ahaa ahaa.

  • This is some really great footage. So much energy.

  • In these troubled times, we are once again in need of music like this. The brutal tactics of Police and Thieves have taken the street once again in Barcelona, and the Righteous need a soundtrack!

  • arcade and clash are both good music.

  • police are thieves. esp. on the Paris metro.

  • Thanks for uploading this, jimmyjazz! :-D

  • The energy that goes into any clash song is much greater than a dub step or electronic song. Those songs are made by kids in their moms basements. Joe strummer, Mick jones and Paul Simonon are great song writers and musicians who have more talent than people like ones who make dub step.

  • GO ON

  • @Goochlore you just don't get it do you???

  • @Goochlore

you just don'n get it do you????

  • @daffyd1uk i get it. you dont get it you clash dicksucker.

  • @Goochlore ROFL... Electronic music and synthetic crap is real music in your opinion?

Christ you're the dumbest person that ever lived on this planet.... "Dead mouse"... Let me laugh...

The Clash = Real instruments, real singing, some meaning lyrics... You just can't compare that to the fucking pre-made synthetic crap of today's music.

Plus, you quote Bob Marley as another great music style... Bob Marley is poor compared to real reggae and rocksteady music.

    Get knowleges, whiner.

  • @bloodyhoody2 I do not agree with that narrow minded statement. An electronic instrument is a real instrument.

Bob Marley is "real" reggae and he was fantastic.

Then again you're probably just trollin.

  • @telecomboring I'm not trolling at all... In my opinion, some mouse clicks on a program, mixing some sounds you didn't even made yourself is not music... Music's supposed to be about instrumental skills... Playing guitar and clicking on a fucking mouse is the same thing, in your opinion?

Oh and, about Bob... I'm not saying he wasn't good, but compared to real old style reggae, he's nothing. He's just being uber-commercialised and that's shameful to say he represents reggae.

  • @telecomboring I'd also like to add that a lot of electronic hip-hop/rap music is just rip-off from real artists... Which just totaly sucks... Adding some scratches on a Johnny Cash song and some beat isn't music... That's just... Making money over someone else...

  • @bloodyhoody2 Don't want to argue. About electronic music I'm clear in my mind that you are wrong. I agree there is some bloody awful and downright lazy electronic/ pop/ hiphop about, but that doesn't mean it's all bad.

  • yeah, best gregory isaacs cover EVER

  • 75 people were police.

  • one more thing-- why would joe appear on B.A.D. tracks if not friends with mick??? Where do you get you're info from???

  • @highschoolmusical841

Does your screen name not say it all. It's in an interview with joe strummer... in a book. I believe though you can find these things online as well. Won't you feel like an ass when you see what an ass you are??

  • @highschoolmusical841

Does your screen name not say it all. It's in an interview with joe strummer... in a book.

  • Thats not true-- Mick and Joe Couldn't stand each other as long as they were in a band together. They remained friends though untill Joe died. In fact their daughters are best friends which caused them both to worry. Thats a fact. Look it up.

  • Comment removed

  • Clash the best band ever!!!!! Way before their time, just wish they would have gotten their shit together and stuck it out. Mick and Joe just didn't lie each other....to bad!

  • The clash are so underrated... best punk band ever for sure

  • lyrics from 2:52 to 3:19 sign is red now, check the plates, you have done wrong, what ever he said, dont you try to aurgue yeah, are you with me,i am your commanding offcier, what she said, going to fix you, slip on a rag,oh yeah. oh and he says nazi crowd at 3:46

  • those little fucker that vote down music . just do it to piss us all off . . it really hurts because the music means so much and they dont even know what--what is

  • christ, i need a copy of this!

  • @tragicallyhiprule LMFAO top five?! lmfao his name is joe strummer? hes so imaginative in coming up with a stage name. what an idiot. you reply was the best one that i got. there must be some subliminal messages in this song because all you people are brainwashed into liking this bullshit.

  • @Goochlore You could just stop being a troll, it'll save you time and realize the shit you're doing is pointless. Many of us love The Clash, but because you have a diff opinion, you feel the urge to jokingly fuck with us just to get a rise out of us? And you call STRUMMER an idiot?

  • @Showdown91 Dont even dare to call idiots to the trolls favorite band the "Virgin Wolves" or they will come with a razorblade to cut your wrists and after that cry about how mainstream the classics like The Clash are, sure, they get a lot of airplay nowadays dont they?

  • @chucho90pulsar I didn't call "virgin wolves" idiots, I just said it's fairly retarded of him to troll the people here just to get a rise out of us.

  • @Goochlore

    are you disabled?

  • oh look! another punk band with a song about police, so original.

  • @Goochlore Just what is your point in watching this video? If you dislike it then fuck off

  • @Goochlore this is a cover...... good job!

  • @Goochlore as for originality, you do realize this was written 30+ years ago correct???

  • @shiphigh , he's not saying that he's saying the clash are covering junior mervins police and thieves which they are and he's saying they done a good job

  • @howardbastard what?

gooch was criticizing the song, obviously unaware the clash didnt write it. 'good job' was sarcasm towards him, although i DO think the clash did a literal good job! haha

  • Whoa whoa, he's entitled to his opinion...even though it is wrong...

  • The original reggae version by Junior Murvin was also good, check it out

  • Comment removed

  • THIS is Punk Rock!

  • WOT A VERSION GO ON THE CLASH PEACE FOLKS

  • Maybe they don't sing or play instruments well, but it doesn't matter, their music still fucking awesome!!!!! My so-called great music, is what they wrote in lyrics and how they express by music. ;)

Sorry that my English is poor, I'm from Taiwan (ROC)

  • @SunnyChenrock no, they are bad.

  • @Goochlore what? :O Oh no you didn't!

  • @Goochlore what is good then? Seriously? This band is one of the greatest of all time. Joe Strummer is one of the top five song writers/rock and roll personalities/musicians of all time.

  • @Goochlore Or your ears are...

  • @Goochlore Said by a guy whos main three videos include one of three semirude crying-screaming emo guys-girls called the virgin wolves ... you sure know a lot about music dude

  • @chucho90pulsar if you would have givin the virgin wolves a listen, you would have relized that it is FAR from crying-screaming emo. plus the virgin wolves actually have talent. They are a local band and not mainstream bullshit like the clash. You sure can think for yourself and listen to what every 'punk' kid listens to in highschool and jr high.

  • @Goochlore The three times ive played your video i see no difference between them and my chemical romance or any song from the Twilight soundtrack, and seriously do you really think that i only exist to listen to The Clash? i just recognize when someone has got the attitude and the talent, and by the way your underground has become the new mainstream dude

  • I wouldn't be alive w/o Joe, Paul, Mick and Topper. Granted, great music. However, it somehow shifted from my auditory experience and brain and dug deep into my blood. Fascinating how my young child moves his body to Clash.

  • Is he off his face here or what? Coke, speed?

  • From Genesis to Revelation...the Clash will keep rocking out!!!!

  • Jamas habra otra banda como The Clash

  • The Clash will always be one of the great rock bands. And like all great rock bands, not everyone in the world likes them, so go listen to music you do like.
