  • @JamesYeager Thanks for this video and the other XS sight demo video. They convinced me to get these sights for my Sig P226. After having them installed and fine tuning the rear sight a little they are the best sights I have ever used. Thanks again for these videos, they definitely helped out at least one person.

  • wow! this guy is a good shot man I wish I can shoot that accurate I need more practice to get better but it's not easy well that's life.

  • So, how much of the target does that "Big Dot" front, cover at

the max distance you personally feel they should be used at ?

  • i was born and raised on old fashioned stock glock sights. now that i am in law enforcement i am considering these but i am still skeptical.

  • Great videography! I'll bet that helps a lot of people.

  • Are you focusing on the the top of the front sight (big dot) or on the center of the big dot?

  • @jkmcdani He said SEVERAL times, you're putting the dot over where you intend to hit.

  • what would the sight picture look like if I have one on a Bodyguard 38 since its only a front sight replacement?

  • Hey James,

Just out of curiosity, do you know if any police departments have started implementing XS Big Dot sights on their duty handguns?

  • @jroberts7387 we are allowed to use XS on our duty guns, i have them on my G21, G30, S&W 637, Remington 870 and Colt 6920

  • i just got a set of xs for my g19 from ur store and have only put 100 rounds through them at one setting. im not doing as well w them as i had expected. i am not on your level but i am not green either. im just used to 3 dot sights. do u think me not having it down after only 100 rounds is bad? i know 100 rounds aint much but i usually catch on pretty quick w anything that pertains to fireams. any words of wisdom for a fellow c town neighbor?

  • @Mr00buckshoot Take your time, that assessment of these sights is like when you first started shooting. You were not great at it but it took some time to get used to what it felt like. Likewise on these sights, put another 900 down the range and you should be right on par. Hope this is taken as constructive and not as an insult to your shooting. I plan on picking these up since suresight is in trouble. You'll get better just practice as it's always said.

  • James, is your rear sight Tritium as well?

    Thanks for the vid!

  • I've got an EMP40 cal and older eyes do you rec the big dot?

  • buy can you shot accurate with this sight at 50 meters or even 25 meters away?

  • @fichmant - How about 100? Look up my other XS video titled "XS Sight Demo"

  • @JamesYeager SIGHT PICTURE at 25/50/100 yards please --- Thanks a ton

  • @ChristianArmorOfGod - It is the same. Past 15 yards use the TOP of the dot.

  • @JamesYeager WHAT? Bullets usually fall - what do you mean past 15 yards top of dot? where on relation to the back site and HOW do you distinguish center mass hits at say 50 yards or 100 Yards --- I'm mostly concerned with the longer range hits as the closer ones are relatively close to the set sights anyway

  • could you show the difference between the Bid Dot sights and the Std Dot?

  • @kpiza - I only recommend Big Dots.

  • @JamesYeager Hey Thanks, Do you know of any places in AZ that would sell and install the product?

  • @kpiza - We sell them and you can install them yourself. I have a video on here that shows how.

  • How bright are these sights in low-light and no light conditions?

  • I'm sold.

  • this is a great video mr yeager. i couldnt hit shit with these sights but after watching this im more accurate than traditional sights. i was given these sights for free so had no idea what to do with them. i was trying to aim the center of the little dot with the tip of the rear tritium post. anyway thanks

  • Man I need these on my pistols as I can't see s#@% anymore, especially at some of the indoor ranges

  • would these sights fit a tokerav pistol

  • @tyler1768 - Sorry no.

  • Would you recommend getting the big or small front sight?

  • @t1msguitar - XS 24/7 Big Dots

  • How far away were you?

  • @t1msguitar - I was in Tennessee

  • @JamesYeager arent you legally required to be drunk or in the process of becoming drunk to shoot a gun in tennessee?

  • @tronclay - You are correct. I actually had a few beers, a shot of whiskey and a fist full of Valiums prior to shooting.

  • Thanks for the video. I just installed them on my sr9 and my bench accuracy has improved even though they are more designed for fighting and quick acquisition like you said. I found my time between accurate shots even went down significantly since I am able to focus on the front sight much better.

  • I'm seriously interested in this system for my PX4. I take handgun classes fairly regularly and this seems like a great system for the quick target acquisition in that kind of setting. How is the night time visibility compared to the popular 3 dot systems like Trijicon or Mepros? Do you find the regular sized front dot to be any better for range accuracy or any less effective in combat scenarios? Thanks!

  • Just ordered some of these for my sr9. Waiting patiently for them to come in the mail.

  • Hey James, I am picking up a Glock 22 next monday My main question is that I like to go to the range and I like trying to shoot tight groups and practice marksmenship HOWEVER my G22 will be my home defense gun. What I would hate to do is take the fun out of precision shooting with stock sights by replacing them with XS sights BUT I know XS is nice for tactical shooting. I guess with mainly shooting @ a range I would hate to be disappointed in XS for target practice. Any input on this ?

  • @mixwell1983 these sights are not for you. go back to worrying about dick size and tight groups. these sights are for warriors who want to win the fight.

  • James, I just got my XD(m) 40 back from Springfield Armory on Thursday. Saturday was my first chance to out go test the new XS sights. My first 5 shots were amazing. I had 3 in the Bullseye area (10), and 2 shots in the next ring out (9) all close together. I was never able to shoot a group this tight using the stock sights. Just had to say THANKS for putting the Demo Video up.

To bad they don't make them for the Smith and Wesson M&P 9c. ;-)

  • In one of the shot show videos the rep says some of the police dept. require qualifying without correctve lenses and these sights allow them to qualify without their vision corrected, sounds good to me.

  • No problem out to 25 yards with my Big Dots on my XD45c and even 40sc. I can stay within the 7 ring.

  • After watching this video, and then having the Springfield Armory gunsmith recommend XS big dot sights to me... I just sent my Springfield XDM 40 back to the factory Custom Shop to have them installed.

Mr James Yeager thank you for taking the time to make this video.

  • How do you think these would perform in IPSC/USPCA competitions (as opposed to shooting at a black ring at exaclty the same distance one shot a minute, that people for some reason like to do here in Sweden)?

  • Thanks for the informative video, im sold. ordered them and will put them on my Glock 19. Good shooting!

  • First off, I've been shooting in some form since I was 7; but as someone who spent six years as a RED HORSE engineer and was subsequently issued an M68 reflex sight, I am a HUGE proponent of the XS concept for BOTH rapid target acquisition and accuracy. Yes, if you understand what parallax is, it is at least as, if not more accurate than other systems. If you don't believe me, read a Kahr review concerning accuracy (same concept). *Hint : Keep both eyes open; you should be doing this anyway*

  • I'm sold! Thanks for the vid! Will be purchasing some of these babies for my Glock 27 this weekend!

  • could you be any closer to the target?

  • Actually I could but what is your point? The other XS video has me shooting out to 100 yards with my pistol freehand. Is THAT far enough?

  • @JamesYeager no. i want to see a 300m shot, and more accurate than a rifle! jk but from the video (just so i have the sight pic straight) it looked like the outside ears of the rear sight were even with the center of the golf ball? i know the idea is not to get hung up on sight pic but i would like to know how they work before i invest in them. cheers! great vid btw!

  • @jawbone83 - Just put the Big Dot where you want the bullet to go.

  • @th1alb - Yes

  • xs sights are fucking awesome !!! I just got them for my glock 19, and my accuracy was unbelievable! I was drifting left and high with the stock sights, and sometimes all over the place! These sights are even good at 25 yards +. Its like fishing with diatomite !!!

  • good shooting!

  • Hey James, thanks for making this video. I was wondering if you recommend any other mods to the venerable Glock (extended controls, etc.). Once again thanks for the video!

  • Thanks alot for your video on installing them, and also for showing me how the sight picture should look like. I have some on order, cant wait to get them installed, will be on a Glock 19 used for everyday carry.

  • i just put mine on today for my g27 it's dead on well close as i can get them but they look great cant wait to try them out thanks

  • @inventionssk- Haha I forgot I watched this video a few mths back and comment. You have to remember, these are combat sights not sport shooting sights and yes he isn't too far from his target but that group is pretty damn good. Ya it isn't far away but you don't show your system or theory behind it and why it is better. I understand you don't want people to steal your idea but you should pat it or whatever and market it if you feel it is that much more superior.

  • Damn I have heard good things about them.. I'm going to check out what they have for 1911's or possibly my Taurus PT92.

  • @mixwell; if your Taurus is like mine the front sight is part of the slide and cannot be replaced.

  • Not true. They put sights on many guns, like S&W J-frames, that do not have a removable front sight.

  • I would say that is pretty fucking accurate if you ask me.. The proof is in the shooting.

  • @mixwell1983 : "The proof is in the shooting" in THIS particualar shooting, you mean?! How far is he from that target ? 4 - 5 meters ? I don't consider it a proof ...

  • I am shooting while looking through the camera viewfinder to align the sights and talking the whole time. I invite you to better me.

  • No. thanks. My level of spoken english would make any "talking while shooting" video rather entertaining... But you have to admit yourself that any shooting on the 4, 5 or even 6 meters away placed target doesn't prove the gun sight accuracy (despite what mixwell1983 has colourfully stated). And on that one, I'm sure I can better you - just check out my YouTube video.

  • I have another video on here where I shoot at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. Is THAT good enough?

  • I had seen the other video before I posted my first comment here. Yet, I still posted it - my answer to that is then obvious. I think I'm both faster and more accurate with my own pistol sight than you with the XS. .. XS Sight is probably one of the best sights for CQB up to some 10meters. But If you need to go further or need to get a 100%head-shot accuracy out of them, you still partialy can, but you must double your effort and focus. With my pistol sight, I don't have to...

  • Everyone says they are better/faster than me on the internet. I have Simunition guns if you ever want to find out if you really are or not.

  • 2 questions:

I know it is tritium upfront, what is the lollipop in the rear, ie at night what is the site picture?

What if the game(s) is IDPA? It would seem they would be fine for this since that is the aim of the game to be a gunfight "simulation"

  • :))) You missed my point, mate. It hasn't never been YOU vs. ME. My point was that I developed a pistol sight that is better than XS Sight, nothing more. Come on. :)))

  • All I am asking is for you to prove it is better. It is time to put your money where your mouth is....mate.

  • It'd be higly impractical to travel 24 hrs just to prove or show something. This is 21st century. I'm ready to send a lovely presentation to Mr. Dave Biggers, and a prototype as well in case he'll interested. I'm kind of sure YOU will be there when he evaluates them ... Just a question how to get to him- last time I wrote to him he didn't bother to answer ....

  • So you won't test your sights against me? You talk about how good you are and that you are faster than me but you won't prove it.

    Stop wasting may time.

  • I'm curious to see if you can back up these claims somehow too. Either way, I win. I am pretty curious to see what your sights look like, though.

  • are they very snaggy getting out of holster?

how about durability. do they seem as tough as stock sights?

    thank you

  • Awesome video on the XS sights! I've got them on a compact 1911. Thats one of the best I've seen to show someone what the sight picture is on sights...very well done!

  • Just got mine on the other day. Excellent repeatability. Consistent groupings, quick acquisition....waaaaay better than the stock Glock sights. Two other guys I shoot with who dont even own Glocks tried mine out with these on it and couldnt believe how accurate they were. Fist sized groupings with rapid fire shooting at 10-15 yards. I recommend them to anyone.

  • I bought a set of XS sights for my Glock 27 and have put over 200 rounds through it so far and found it superior to any other sights I've used. It beat the Advantage Tactical Sights hands down. I went from a decent shot to a pretty good shot with these things. Just my opinion anyway.

  • How far away is the target?

  • great video. could you make a long distance 1st person video? im really interested in getting these sights but i dont think they make them for the gun i want to buy them for. do they have plans to make the XSsighs for a HK P30?

  • James,

Do you only rec. these on glocks/handguns, or are you also a fan of these on an AR platform?

  • Best review on these sights I've seen yet. Nothing makes it clearer than a POV video during shooting. Thanks.

  • Very helpful vid. What distance is this shoot? Thanks in advance.

  • HOW MUCH DO THESE SIGHTS COST ?

  • $120ish

  • once again Yeager cuts thru the bullshit and demonstrates by example

    SS/DOL

  • Was that the big or small front sight dot?

  • Big Dots

  • As an S.R.T. point man and Police firearms instructor the XS sights products in my opinion are above all the rest I have installed them on both my Glock and M4. When kicking down the door I would not trust any other sights.

  • hi. whene im trying to align sights with a very not accuarte glock airsoft im oftenly can put the front sight some where inside the rear sight [ the f. sight is completely inside the r. sight but no perfect alignment ]. for what range is such alignment is enough to hit a man size target if i have the rear in the center of the target?

  • when you shoot do u have both eyes open or one closed because im wonderning if there is a proper way to shoot with both eyes open

  • It is always best to shoot with both eyes open.

  • why is it best to shoot with boths eyes open and how do you shoot with boths eyes open because when i use both eyes the gun goes blured and the target goes blured and the gun goes off target

  • It is best because you need to see during a gunfight. Try putting a piece of transparent tape over your non-dominant eye and shoot with both eyes open. It should become natural eventually.

  • man i beg of u to make more vids like this except show it eith quick fire or with 100 yards pepper poppers. this video really is great i hope u can make another like it

  • I have these installed on a Glock 19, and have practiced in low light situations. There is a vertical bar of tritium in the rear sight and the center of the front sight has a tritium insert. So at night, dot the " i " and you won't miss, I can attest to that.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd say he'd be just fine seeing as how both front and rear have tritium.

  • I had a big dot on my Kimber 1911.

It did very good for USPSA L10 and IDPA CDP.

I changed it to Tru Glo last year, fiber optic sights are great.

  • Nice demo, but how does it fair in the dark? If you get a chance can you show us a small demo in a low light/dark situation?!

    Thanks!

  • JEEZ! That was fantastic!

I am looking at these for my Sig, so contrary to standard sights, you actually put the dot where you want to hit and not right below it as with standard sights?

  • Up close just put the "golfball" where you want the bullet to go. From seven yards and further put the top edge of the sight where you want the bullet to go.

This is the reason they work at longer distances....because you do not cover the target with the sight.

  • Thank you for the response, I think I will be getting these for my Sig.

  • Sold!! Mp is getting outfitted with them tomorrow!

  • yeah that sight looks pretty gravy. youre always going to be nervous shooting at a real person, so it is best to have a big ass front sight that doesnt need a lot of thought. "are all three dots in a line?"

  • Wow. .Great demo. I'm sold. Getting the Big Dots for my XDM.

  • Excellent, James as aways. I want some for my Glocks.

  • do they make these for xd pistols?

  • Yes, all models of XD

  • Yes they do.

  • So, I have a .45 commander for a carry gun, but shoot the occasional IPDA match. Would you recomend these sights?

  • I recommend them for any gun that would be used in an emergency.

  • Def. getting these for my glock 19. Thank you!

  • Is the sight picture the same for a 10 yard shot and a 25-30 Yard shot?

  • As the demos say, and as they advertise, these sight are primarily for self defense, not for targets, but once you learn the sights, you'll find they'll also suffice well as target sights

  • I will have some coming in in a few days. Can't wait!

  • Anyone who is so hung up on the 100yard sight picture with these needs to consider that if you are having a handgun fight at 100yards you have much more to worry about.

  • i love XS sights, my friend had some on a hi-power and they worked really well for me

  • Can you show us a sight picture at 100 yards?

  • I sold a Kimber to a friend with the XS and he told me that he didn't like them because they were not accurate, I told him "just try tthem before you remove them". He called me the day after saying that he was going to install XS an all his carry and competition pistols. They do work really good. 25 yrd shots in the center.

  • you make it look so easy lol

  • Great videos. Very helpful.

  • Very good sights.

  • Nice video James. I am trying to decide on a XS night sight for my G-25.

    Tanks

  • Thank you so much for this vid!

  • very helpful, thanks

  • 5 stars.. great vid!!!!!!!

  • This video convinced me to try a set of BigDots. THANKS!

My G17 now sports the bigdots and I'm shooting 20-30% faster and with better hits (even head shots at 25 yards) with this combo.

I've shot IDPA/IPSC/SS for 5 years and would say that after you develop a natural index from practice, traditional sights will slow you down. (it's mental, but still an issue)

BigDots let you "threat focus" while confirming your "sight picture." With standard sights you would have to slide index only.

  • Wow I didn't really understand the whole concept of these sights till I watched this. They work in low light situations right?

I'll definitely be looking at these when it comes to sight shopping for my new 19.

  • Yes they work in low light.

  • on this glock you use the stock barrel... or is it an aftermarket

  • The Glock 19 is completely stock except for the addition of XS Sights.

  • these guys are no joke. i finished off disk 2 of 3 of the Fighting Pistol videos from these guys last night and the amount of information, and they way its presented is above and beyond any other pistol training video i have ever seen.

i think i am going to pick up a set of these for my USP full size and try em out.

  • i have watched my copy of Fighting Pistol i think 3 times now. every time i watch it i pick up something new that i didn't retain the previous, or it just further re-enforces good habits. i plan on picking up some XS's for my USP full size as well, and probably taking a coarse with Tactical Response.

  • Very interesting, thanks for demonstrating these sights.

  • Lol, you just sold me a set of sights.

  • Wonderful camera work (and great shooting) - are these sights self install or do I need to take my Glock to an armorer?

  • A friend picked up a pistol with these on them. The first time I went out and shot with them I was hitting hitting targets at 50yards no problem. Also faster on target times as well.

  • I have them on my Beretta Elite. I really like them. VERY fast to acquire but you need to train with them so you don't revert to using them like conventional sights.

  • You should be training anyway. :-)

  • Oh, I know, but sometimes I go to using another gun(s) that don't have them for awhile and when I switch back, I find I have to get back in the groove. Once you have used and trained with them for some time, getting used to them again is MUCH faster than your first time out.

  • Took some getting use to, but these sights work great. Put the dot on the target and you'll hit it. Took about 100 rounds to adjust and get my sight picture correct, but these are great for fast aquisitions.

  • I recently picked up a used HK P2000 and it had these sights on it. Now I know what the sight picture is supposed to look like! Looking forward to training with you guys.

  • How far away is the target?

  • About 20 feet.

  • Just bought a pair for my Glock. We'll see how it goes.

  • Would these sights be good for IDPA shooting?

  • They are what I use for competition.

  • I'm SOLD!! I have A Glock 21. And I think The Big Dot Wil Suit Me. Am I correct is that A good choice for my weapon?

  • If it is used for fighting there is no better choice.

  • How bright are the night sights? Also, it looks like it would be tough to find that small little "i" on the rear sights.

  • They work fine for people using them in our low light training.

  • Big Dots

  • hey James. I'm torn between standard slot and post style tritium sights(meprolight) and these for my 1911. I think with proper training and experience I can get just as quick with Meprolights. But these XS seem so much easier. Ahhh decisions decisions.

  • No "notch and post" sight is as fast as XS Big Dots. If you do things like shoot on the move, shoot at moving targets, or shoot multiple targets you will see the difference QUICKLY.

  • Do you recommend XS Sights for IPSC shooting? If so, which Dots should I use? Big?

  • I like the way of recording this and the sight you are showcasing.

  • By the way at what distance were you shooting on this video? It looks rather close but might be the camera angle. Not being a troll just being curious.

  • Nice video James. I am trying to decide on a night sight for my G-19. Is there significant difference between the big dot and small dot accuracy wise?

  • what this video is teaching, isjust onhow to kill another person.

  • Yes. I teach good people to kill bad people.

  • well yea, im US soldier in iraq and i hate the fact that sometimes i might have to "kill" another person if needed.

im just not a fan of killing.

  • It is an unfortunate fact sometimes. I hope you are not put in that position.

  • Why the hell did you join the military then?!?!

    Jay

  • College money is my guess.

  • Nice dude!!!

  • just got back from a combat pistol course with the big dots installed, first time shooting my XD with 'em, once accustomed to them, i won;t go back to post and notch for anything, thanks james for this vid, nothing like seeing it in action

  • After all the talk about these sights, this video finally got through my thick skull what everyone was talking about. I'm having a set installed on my BUG as we speak. I can't wait to try them out. If my bosses don't shit a brick, they'll probably be going on my duty gun very soon.

  • Kick azz video and I have the XS on my G-23 Yeager is has always been strait to the point and No Bs only wish i could train more with his team. Thanks for the help & info this year..

    Chris

  • Yeager's the man.

  • I have Big Dots on my G19 and G32...as has been previously stated, they are the best sights for a fighting pistol.

  • I've shot, stock glock sights, Meprolights, Trijicons, and some weird "target" sights on everything from Glock(Buy Glock!), 1911s, Sigs, S&W and other inferior gun designs... None of them were as fast to aquire on the first shot and all the way through to slide lock. Big Dots now sit on my Glock 17, my fathers Glock 17, and they'll be going on my mothers Glock as soon as she picks it up.
