And besides, is there anything truly lost by learning how to shred like a wild man before most people have had a chance to learn a handful of chords? I definitely agree that we need to let kids be kids, but music is also a self-perpetuating gift. If you get into it and you get good at it, you have another means of expressing yourself. No harm there!
