  • Hello casualties.

Look at your bystander, now back to me. Now back at your bystander, now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me but if he'd studied at Medical school instead of not volunteering At St john ambulance he could at least be like me. Look down, Back up. Where are you? your in a traffic accident with the man you wish was me. What's in your hand? Back at me. It's a First aid kit. Look at again the Kit is now morphine. Anything is possible when your a doctor. I''m on an ambulance.

  • 2:15

  • Wow. A place where drivers actually know and understand exactly what lights and siren means.

  • if people would actually watch the clip properly, The reason the ambulance is driving slowly is because they cant locate the exact whereabouts of the casualty. And these guys are out there to save lives. Why is there so many idiots making stupid comments on the way they drive, after all its for a good cause! and they receive proffesional training!

  • check my channel

  • why do they keep turning the siren on and off?

  • @SuperBroomBrooom To keep the peace. That's what happens here, If they're not needed to get through traffic, they don't go on.

  • sh*

  • polisz paramedic??

  • they should get more powerful engines theese are very slow

  • @TheFullgeneral They are not "slow", the driver of the ambulance was driving as fast and as carefully as appropriate, and an excellent job he did too!

  • @TheFullgeneral The reason they're driving slow is because the exact location of the casualty hasn't yet been located! I've seen these Merc ambos and they have plenty of power!

  • ahh every one on the wrong side of the road and stuck in the 50s

  • Wheres your HILO

  • Love it when we make it within the 8 minutes! (Not me riding truck here)

  • Edgware road : )

  • This comment aplies very well for MedicAmbo5000. " It's better to keep one's mouth shut and let people think you are a idiot, than to open it, and remove all doubt!"

  • Screw londoners

  • @Waddle5blue When I read your comment I thought it must be an American saying that and I was right.

  • @bobtul. It is a legal requirement to get owt of the way. No matter where u are. There emergency vehcls 4 a reason. And in nz. We kan not go on the other side of the road to get past. It may cause a acident. Only police can use the otha road side. And our run is calld a priority 1 - red light

  • i dont know about ambulances but police cars usualy turn on their lights to rush down to the mc donalds

  • @orhun20

I dont know how the situation in your country is, but in Germany the car records when the lights/sirene are used. Drivers would get into bad trouble then.

  • @Plums99999 i was joking.. u dont need to be genius to understand it mate

  • it pisses me off that a vehicle or the use of public transport is becoming essential to having a career in this country. Public transport is crampped and sheer bordom and the same goes for cars. its so nice being able to find a job within walking distance to ur home but for most people that is usually not possible. I think we should be encouraging people away form cars and public transport and more cycling and walking and living closer to work to eliminate journeys.

  • pushing cars through red lights, thats wrong

  • @bobtul No its not they dont have to go thought they chose to.

  • not like american..i love the way they turn on the siren only if necessary

  • @TheCorbuzier yeah, the american's over use the siren and its just ridculos

  • @TheCorbuzier yeah, the american's over use the siren and its just ridculos, in NZ, im with St John, we only use the siren when driving down busy roads, approaching intersections, or approaching behins a car

  • @MedicAmbo5000 ANY emergency vehicle may under its authority use any part of the roadway deemed necessary as long as that action does not constitute an immediate danger to any another person. Only POLICE may drive on the other side of the road? I think you should consult with the New Zealand Fire Service and Police before making stupid comments. Also it is NOT a legal requirement to get out of the way for an emergency vehicle. You are obliged to give way or stop for the vehicle.

  • @MedicAmbo5000 Have you thought what other road users feel when they are in an intersection and you suddenly descend upon them without warning, siren screaming and air horn blaring? Try using the siren more often and you may find people are more prepared to take evasive action prior to you appearing suddenly and trying to force yourself through traffic.

  • No opticom in London I take it?

  • @bdkrma911 - Not reall a UK thing... More US and Canada.

  • How did you manage to film this?

  • @tiggywiggytiger Ridealong, I assume hes a civilian tagging along as an observer - a lot of emergency services do it over here in the UK!

  • @AlexHobbs2093 Oh im curious I live in the uk but never seen any1 do that!

  • Getting certified as an EMT-B in about a month.....can't wait to start working!

  • Lolz, the narrow roads full of Traffic reminds me of Wellington NZ.

  • Wo hast du den schon überall gearbeitet :O

  • american ambulances do look better

  • @burtbenediction No, American Ambulances are ugly.

  • A good video, although just after two minutes bullying other traffic through a red light keeping the siren on is unnecessary pressure.

  • @Silverfoxwolfen Those drivers chose to drive through the red light. If they had read their highway code they'd know that they are not required to jump red lights for emergency vehicles.

  • 比台灣好太多了

  • THis is like San Andreas

  • they are not really fast in UK ))) great vid bro

  • Comment removed

  • why are they driving so f##king slow?!

  • @FLHKSBonYT There could be a whole set of reasons. For example they might be needed, but not right this urgent second. Or there might be a paramedic on scene and this ambulance will be just transport when the patient is ready to be moved. There's no point driving at higher speed and risking an accident unless it's completely necessary.

  • @FLHKSBonYT They arent so f##cking slow....they are driving down probably the busiest road in london with hundreds of pedestrians on the pavements and lots of vehicles and bikes on the road. when driving on blue lights u drive as fast as is safely possible. The driver could go a lot faster than they are going but the other drivers can be so erratic and unpredictable that they would crash within 5 minutes, and then they will never get to the patient!!

  • The only thing that annoys me about this video is how they put the siren on when on the junction instead of approaching the junction.

  • Quick question, are most UK ambulances automatic now?

  • 這是我們台灣人應該學習的

  • What's the average annual wage for Paramedics in london?

  • Of course people move out of the way for emergency vehicles.no law in this country to force any vehicle to make way for emergency vehicles.its called courtesy. All emergency vehicle drivers are told to treat red traffic lights as give way junctions. remember once emergency vehicle drivers go driving on the wrong side of a traffic island they are soley responsible,no law will protect them if they have an accident, Thats why they try to stay on the correct side of the road at all times..

  • In the future the government are looking to work with the department for transport to adapt the gps on all emergency vehicles so's when they are assigned to a blue light call as they approach a set of traffic lights a computer automatically sets there direction of travel to green (and all others to red obviously) from a central base. This would be intertwined with the satelite navigation on board and all drivers are expected to use the route provided. Traffic updates are monitored at despatch st

  • How car is it, how engine - gas, diesel, and how horsepower? Thanks.

  • @Chocholousek1 From engine note I believe this is the older V8 Petrol Ambulance. They had a 4 Litre Rover V8 Engine as fitted to the V8 Land Rover Discovery. I think they are about 165 bhp but the more important figure is Torque to drive the auto box. They wouldn't win a drag race but I heard from a mate that the Ambulance weighs about 4 tonnes fully kitted with crew, so they don't do too bad. most of the later ambulances are Mercedes Sprinter Diesel with a big square box body.

  • Very nice vid. But I still freak out with this driving left side and stuff. Looks so odd

  • Yea no kidding, forcing people into an intersection is careless. I just turn of the siren and wait...

  • god the gear ratio on those truck are crappy, but that engine sounds great, cant wait to hear those sirens when i move there!! Hate the ambulance here in the US.

  • @fordgtjr

Its an old LDV Convoy (mid 90's) with a 4speed Rover 3.9litre V8.....not used in mainstream ambulances anymore here!

  • If you are an EMT in the U.S can you work in the U.K?

  • @brianbmf Well, if you can driv in the U.K you can definitivt drive in the U.S :p

  • Humm don't know what your laws over there are but Over here in the US if this ambulance was going we would have to pull over no matter what. I was watching people just staying in the road not even caring. However I did notice that its also seems a little tight in spots. However I think you guys have cool stuff compared to the US.

  • I'm a paramedic for EMSA in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It's the ambulance service that responded to the bombing in Oklahoma City. My daughter is marrying a guy who lives in Dawlish and I would love to third ride wit the LAS when I come over for the wedding.

  • They are going abaout 40 miles at out OMG That is so F**king FAST!!!!

  • nice taxi

  • @Falconfan1992 In the US... this guy could have easily been fired. Especially after pulling up to a red light and forcing cars out into the intersection (If you come up to a red light and are stuck behind a wall of cars... too bad! turn off your siren and don't cause another accident!)

  • @boobooq88

Thats the law in the UK. When you see any type of Emergency vehicle you have to move over for them to proceed to their destination, that also includes Police, Fire Fighters, Doctors Cab etc. Even when at a traffic light they had to move over and others from the opposite junctions have to be aware of the passing Emergency vehicle.

  • @jack253 Not true. Doctors do not have any exemptions. Only a courtsey green light.

  • @sky9878 A flashing green light on a Drs vehicle carries the same priveleges as a blue light, other road users should treat them with the same courtesy as a vehicle with blue lights and move out of the way and allow them to pass safely and quickly.

  • @mortgagewizard40 No it doesn't. Doctors do not have any exemptions to exceed the speed limit, treat red lights as give way signs, offside a bollard etc. Green lights = courtesy only , if you obstruct a vehicle on blue lights its an offence obstruction of emergency workers act.

  • @mortgagewizard40 If green lights carried the same "priveleges" [sic], they would be blue!

  • @boobooq88 Open your eyes, This is the UK not the US. You have no understanding of UK Laws.

  • @boobooq88

that's not the law in the UK... or in Australia or.. pretty much any other country that i know..?

  • @Falconfan1992 UK emergency drivers are actually very good concerning driving fast and safe; also in other european countries we go over red traffic lights with hardly slowing down

  • @Falconfan1992

You are a very special idiot. In the USA nobody cares when hear sirens because they use them all the time - even when it isn't necessary. Here in Europe, as you can see, people give them the way. The standard travel time of emergency wehicles is 3 minutes. - The USA can't even dream about that short time!

  • @23aztek

Your right - because you have been in every city in the united states and know all the averages for every city/service right? You my friend are a very special kind of idiot. Where I live the average time from call received, to on scene is 5-6 minutes in a busy metropolitan city. Maybe you need to go sip some more spiked tea or whatever you guys do there in London.

  • @Falconfan1992

As I said... 3 minutes are less than 5-6. -Simple maths. To answer your question: I lived in the USA for 2 years, so I've got an individual insight. I wouldn't impute that to the US-Drivers without a reason. I've seen it!

(And I'm not from London... you know Europe has more than a few cities...)

  • the ambulance goes almost as slow as the taxi... i hope no one dying...

  • @XLthefirst Its London you arsewipe, not a country lane!

  • Missing the martin horn

  • @akileeze it is driver protocol for any emergency vehicles driver to sound sirens and omit flashing lights when presented with a junction displaying a red light this gives less chance of there being a collision. What you see the driver doing in this video is following protocol.

  • horrible old LDV

  • @pyro999maniac from where do you know that?

  • @soldier312 because we have LDVs at college and the dash of this looks exactly the same and it sounds the same

  • I´m a medical doctor volunteer ambulance in the city of Mexico, and the way we operate is that there comes a police vehicle to confirm the service, time is lost but still people are not properly apply the culture of emergency medical services. Although we have access to GPS technology, we are using the maps because it is easier. I send a cordial greeting

  • what the fuck are these chinese rats writing?

  • cool, always wanted to go in a ambulance, how did you get to do it, or were you the casualty? :-)

  • Why are they so slow?

  • Was not impressed by the driver trying to force his way through red lights by using his sirens. When the driver is unable to get through red lights due to obstructions, he should keep his blue lights on and turn sirens off. The car drivers can panic and be forced to go over the white line on a red light causing an accident. Which in this case happened, one car goes over the red light while the other mounts the pavement..

  • @AKILEEZE

In the Netherlands, if the driver switches of the siren, then it is no "priority 1" vehicle.

    (Different rules)

  • Wow people actually get out of the way for emergency personnel.

  • @CFHpantera

    Isn't this normal?!?

  • @CFHpantera Not in Portugal.

  • @awesomedudemee forgot to add that it is required by law to get out of the way for all emergency vehicles - ambulences, firetrucks, police cars etc.

  • it is not a legal requirement to get out of the way, that driver pushed cars through red lights, if there were a crash the red light jumper would be at fault,, in the UK using sirens is asking for the road not demanding it, its up to the Ambulancs driver to get around the traffic,

  • @bobtul it is a legal requirement.

  • @Thirdwatchandgta actually its not in the uk emergency vehicles do not have any more right to the road then any other motorist i agree completely with you and forcing other motorists out of the way and into danger is completely unacceptable and they fully deserve any punishment they get. its certainly not the way i was trained!!

  • @jonjon18123 Emergency Vehicles do have more rights though. They are exempt from Road Traffic Laws and Regulations if it aids their work. For example, going through red lights and using the offside of the carriageway. drivers are also trained to 'dominate the road' in order to make good *yet safe* progress.

  • @CFHpantera Once I seen your comment the first thought that came into my head was "That's definitely an American making that comment" how right I was lol

  • LENTITUD,DESORIENTACION,ETC,ETC..........

  • nice job maneuvering trough traffic.

  • sounds like the ldv v8

  • God bless all rescue services around the world

  • wow do u do all these urself :) do u jus asked cud u ride along r wat do u do

  • I'll tell you what ambulance will haul ass to your doorstep if you have a serious emergency... German Ambulances and Polish Ambulances... they typically have the fastest response time and if your in the way you better MOVE

  • @JoeA320Pilot Post a link with the statistics. Thanks.

  • What type of engine did that ambulance have? It sounds like a petrol.

  • As far as having a hard time finding addresses and such, they do a terrific job "parting the sea" and responding at a reasonable time. My hats off to you guys. Keep up the good work, no matter what anyone tells you =D

  • Christ, is there any back suspension on that ambulance, seems like my Old Nissan patrol. I know there are cut backs in the UK but that's is terrible.

  • @Macinabit Its an old ambulance, (wikipedia LDV Convoy) they hardly use them anymore, mostly as temporary replacements, the Mercedes Sprinters/VW Crafters are so much better, comfort and performance.......and efficiency even better (2.5 5cyl diesels compared to the LDV which had a 3.9 V8)

  • Wow London Ambulance Service is rich, they have a GPS that can track the ambulance on a map, in North America, EMS dont have even a computer.

  • @starcraftguy1 ...strange, because my ambulance service outfits every single one of its units with a garmin gps, a dispatch computer and a panasonic touchbook for e-pcrs.

  • @CyberDeputySheriff01 i meant most, i know there are some with computers in them

  • @starcraftguy1

It's not only the London ambulanes... The GPS tracker is a norm for emergency vehicles in Europe.

  • @starcraftguy1 Do not talk unless you know what you are talking about. Our ambulances are fully equipped with computers. Dispatch has a live view of where we are, how fast we are traveling, plus much much more. We get a call, it pops up on our computer screen in the ambulance. It automatically routes us and gives us all the information you could think of. Our GPS is built in with our dispatch software. So please... please do not comment unless you know 100% sure that your statement is true!

  • I love it when Morons try to cross the street when emergency vehicles are driving by.

  • same siren as most police in the US

  • Those roads are tight! Holy cow.

    Respect!

  • One has just one complaint about all this, and that is the fact that the stupid film keeps starting and stopping every two seconds.

  • @cosmicgirl380612 Let it buffer then lol

  • wht sort of van is this? A Merc or Renault or something?

(The auto box makes it sound like it has plenty of poke!)

  • @ImRatherTall : It's a Mercedes, just google London Ambulance and you'll get lots of images of them.

  • @QFIhawkman

I know now, but I was wondering if it was that or the LDV? (at te time)

    Thanks anyway!

  • @ImRatherTall : You're right, In this clip it's the LDV, you can see the rather crappy ex British Leyland dashboard and outdated switchgear at the start. The Mercedes have a single grey "Premier hazard" control box which governs the emergency signals (on the attendant side) and quite a nice sequential semi auto box where the stick is mounted quite high on the dash next to the driver. Sorry if I misread your question.

  • Well done to the driver at 2:26 for taking the initiative.

  • Good on the Saab for clearing the red light......I'm sure driver checked it was safe to do so. Where I work, if you are behind vehicles who have nowhere to go we turn off the sirens until it is safe to pass. That way we don't spook the public into doing something daft.......which they have been known to do.

  • @D1MCV Even though the Saab cleared the red light, unfortunately its still illegal here to go through a red light if an emergency vehicle is approaching, you have nowhere to go and its safe to go through. People have actually been prosecuted for it here, despite the fact that the time saved on the journey might save someone's life. Its really daft.

  • @weeneldo well its up to the individual driver to ensure that it is safe to continue and not endanger himself or other road-users. No Emergency vehicle can force a roaduser to run the lights!

  • They're driving on the wrong side of the road!!!! Idiots! Just Kidding ;)

  • @crffinc stearing wheels on the wrong side aswell lol

  • @blackhawk7243

Its on the Right side lol

  • This is irrelevant to the video but is it just me or did anyone else notice the 10000000000 BMW wagons populating the streets, god there was a beamer in every corner, light, stop, parking space, Its like toyotas here in the US......anyway great video, looks really cool.

  • im gonna start training to do this job, im ***ing myself ahah

  • I just love how the traffic move aside when an emergency vehicle comes along.

  • at 4min are they lost ( just for my information)?

  • England is allowed by the rules of the road, turn on and off the sirens at intersections? In Italy is not allowed, then many drivers do it anyway, but the law does not permit.

  • @Miluca73 - they are still driving under emergency conditions (flashing lights are on) but have the discretion to use - or not use - their sirens as they see fit. I've been a paramedic for 12 years and these guys display some very safe driving habits.

  • awesome ambulance with complete computer and radios, in indonesia having an ambulance like that is a DREAM!

  • @aryowailangitoyo97 pff i think it would be rare finding an ambulance not outfitted like these in the netherlands!

  • stupid driving - entering a crossing and even red ligt, but no sirens, sometimes in the lat second.

    ThM

  • why do they stop t 4.08? then go again?

  • @crowderz100

the address shown by the triangle on the screen was slightly off.

  • it's so cool to hear the strobes :P

we have led on our ambulances, so dont her it :P

and we have the same siren too :)

  • no airhorn?

  • on the wrong side of the road!! oh wait wrong country!

  • Traffic is a bitch

  • ale zapierniczał jak błyskawica powinni na nauki do polski przyjechac

  • i like this kind of movies.... nice V8 sound BTW!!!!!!!

  • haha v8 come on it´s a diesel BTW!!!!

  • u mean a v8 disel isn't nice?

    for me: a v8 = a v8 dont matters benzin or disel.....

  • Comment removed

  • Would you want to drive a standard shift ambulance listen to the transmission & unpowerful engine.......sounds like a 4 cylinder

  • It's a 3.5 Litre V8.

  • Lights turns to green automatically?
