Ah this brings me back i was only 5yrs old watching this cartoon every saturday morning. Heathcliff IS PURE CLASSIC. and needs to be on DVD! I feel so sorry for today's kids with their shitty cartoons. My only question is WHY I never see Heathcliff & Riff Raff together in a episode except I saw the junk yard cats with Heathcliff. oh yeah RIFF RAFF GF IS SUCH A HOTTIE

Yup and also the early 90's toons like Batman TAS remember that? the best cartoon of the 80's is Real Ghostbusters then followed by Thundercats, Ducktales and Rescue Rangers then Raccoons and Transformers.

I grew up in the 80's and early 90s as a kid myself and as a teen in the mid-late 90s myself. Did you also watched Beetlejuice, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Batman TAS, Swat Kats, Spider-Man, Darkwing Duck, Bobby's World, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Eek The cat, X-Men etc.?

Heathcliff has actually been around longer than Garfield. Heathcliff came to the funny pages in 73' (I believe) as Garfield didn't arrive til 78'.

One of my top favourite cartoon themes! The cartoon itself wasn't all that great, but I still watched it anyway since I too thought Heathcliff was a cool version of Garfield :)

Memories of my kid years in the mid 80's. This would come on LA channel 9 I believe on most weekday afternoons. The 80's was a Golden Age of kid's cartoons. I loved Inspector Gadget, He Man and She Ra, Muppet Babies, Dennis The Menace and many others. What a great time it was to be a kid !!!

@LADYTHUNNDER I really fell bad for kids these days. They will never know shows like this unless we as adults have them recorded or on dvd. It's a shame that the quality of day time cartoons has really gone down hill.

@statiketernal I couldn't have said it better. Not only were the cartoons of the 80's the best. They had the best theme songs ever. I still sing a lot of them today. Heathcliff was one of my favorites, so was the muppet babies, inspector gadget, gummy bears, fragle rock. There's too many to name them all. It makes me sad when I think how things have gone down hill. It started to get bad in the 90's with crap like Power Rangers and all this Japanes anime crap. They will never top the 80's.

@statiketernal Oh yes, yes, yes. And Goof Troop, Gummie Bears, Punky Brewster and The Bugs Bunny Road Runner show, Garfield and Friends. Oh man. The 80's were the bomb!! Whenever I can I try to collect these shows on dvd or vhs. I'm constantly going on ebay looking for things like this. Because they are classics and they will never be again. And I forgot to mention another favorite of mine... Dungeons and Dragons. And how could I forget Spider-man and his amazing Friends & The X-Men. Love em!!!
