@RudeBoyRocket:: :) You are right with loosing time İF (and this is a big if :) )you just train for the hard reality. But to be honest, how often İ have the opportunity to fight for my life? And if İ have to, İ think İ am prepared good enough to give my best (which İ had unfortunately prooved several times). But to have fun with martial artists all around the world, to train safely and impove attributes like: Speed, power, coordination, reflexes and so on is much more inportant for me.
@RudeBoyRocket: Especially in Kali sikaran (which this demo based on) Sparring and Self Defence (we call it Self Protection) is a big part of the curriculum. We start Sparring and Self Protection (which are not the same) from the very beginning and we have more Sparring training then drills. For Sparring (knife) please take a look on my other video and tell me if you like it. :)
Now I've just seen the knife-vid and it does make sense what you're doing there. But don't you feel like loosing time with these excessive drills we see here? At least that was what I felt when I trained IKAEF-stuff for a year. Back to knife-fights: fighting with 10 cm pocket-knives is a deadly uncontrollable thing, where a "specialist" doesn't really have better chances than an inexperienced but quick street kid. It's not a thing for fancy thai-kicks, but for high pressure.
The lack of sparring yet becomes obvious when you rhythmically hit sticks on sticks to open the dance. Dancing is fine and fun, al right, but you guys also seem to seek ways for self defence. Does this go together well?
Yo this song is not for racist reasons putted up in here, it's just a fighter-song performed by Roy Jones Jr., who's a professional boxer.......maximum Respect for the video
I know its just a demo but have you ever heard of footwork? and why the music with vry racist comments you are not black are you yet you use the word nigger in you music what is wrong with you?
It is just a song, man. Nothing more nothing less. It is not my music. It is just a great song for training. Sorry if I offended you. It was not my Intention. Footwork? Whats that? ;)No, really, these are staticall Drills and no sparring.
no no one should play racist hurtful music. if it is so dear to you play it in private not on open media. it is wrong. and you shouldnt call people names you dont know well .
haha, yes, only the lamest white guys play rap music like this where the word 'nigger' is constantly repeated, they think they are cool
it reminds me of that scene in the movie 'office space' where the white guy has the rap music cranked, then turns it down and locks his door when a black guy walks by, hahaha!
and yeah, definite lack of footwork in these demonstration drills, this is a demo and so should demonstrate foot work as part of the drill
what a shame. westerners are diluting our native arts, sigh. rather looks like kickboxing and pinoys don`T fight like dat.

@fewag wenn du eskrima kennen würdest, dann wüsstest du, das sparring freies kämpfen heißt, aber ich sehe das du keinen plan hast.
