What cracks me up about this is how you can hear them complain about how Michael is faster than Mika, brakes later, etc. Yet, all you ever heard when Michael was in F1 was how he sucked. If that's the case, how come he was faster than Mika?
Sucking, as in "not being the world's most sporting person"? Well, taking out your main title rival out of the final race etc. is not unheard of in F1, success and unsporting behaviour sometimes go hand in hand. You can't rerun the whole race, so the benefit of the doubt is given when "racing".
Who needs telemetry when your flying along at them speeds i think its more about feeling and sensations to go faster or improve on a particular part of the race track.
Mika Hakkinen outqualified Senna in Mika's first race for McLaren. There's one famous picture from 1993 where Mika appears to be flying with the MP4/8,hence the flying finn.
"Flying Finn" was a catch-all term for fast Finnish Motorsport drivers, with Keke Rosberg being the first F1 driver to earn the name. Since then its been applied to Mika, Kimi and seems to be a good title for Heikki Kovaleinen.
its from 1993, the bbc ran a series of around 6 or 7 episodes called a season with mclaren! it has some good stuff on ayrton sennas final season. i've got it on video somewhere
It's also nice to see these people don't treat the drivers as perfect gods, they're giving honest answers quite interesting! Mika has always said he's "flat out" though!
Interesting insight into how a test session works. I think this is too long to be a season review. It'll be a dedicated documentary not sure what though, reminds me of the Benneton Behind the scenes documentary kinda

Incredible that this Ascanelli is behind Vettel's amazing win!

Pat Fry: "The (active suspension on the) car is jumpy when throttling at the start."
Giorgio Ascanelli: "We shouldn't have any correction at zero speed? Unless we have a pressure problem, or unless.."
Pat Fry: "We can't have a pressure problem if he's revving the bollocks off it can we?"
Classic.
