@onlywhenpissed Yes I guess your right the excitement just took over lol . Anyway thats what happened . The latest on the hoard will be featured in an exclusive for the march issue of the American mag the gold prospectors so lots of new info and pics from experts.The hoard is with the British museum in London and is being investigated and valued by the treasure inquest team , inline with the law.Cheers.

Amazing to think that every day people or livestock walk within inches of these hordes across the whole of england...thousands of years down there and for the want of a good detector can be brought back to life and their tales told and shown.

Having had a fossil found and now in a museum i can tell you the thrill of finding something extra special....in my case to be the first hman to see it, in yours the author of one persons tale

Incredible--to think that some unknown soul, long dead, buried that hoard probably to keep it safe and never made it back to claim it. Centuries later your club mates find this amazing cache with 21st century technology. Good for you, and commendations all around for handling it so professionally. @Steelgreyeyes Cheers my friend, We record all our finds with the local museums and flo we have a great relationship with archeologists we have one or two from the northern archeology group as members which is great.Some say they are elitest but the new school of archeologists work well along side detectorists. Detectorists have filled our museums with wonderous treasures for all to see, Hoxen hoard, Snettisham hoard,

Staffordshire hoard to name but a tiny few. Thanks Guss
