Ahh, the living legend, still inspiring the old ways...no one will ever top him. Jake has nothing on you unko. You are beyond comparison, always have been, always will be.
troy the best!! fell in love with his playing when first listened to Kaau crater boys... his playing style is his trademark I think a milestone for contemporary hawaiian music... mahalo...
Sorry I no more one inspirational "Ukulele" story to tell ...BUT, I just like you to know that I am a Ka'au Crater Boys fan and truly enjoy listening to your awesome "solo" music. You are truly blessed and a blessing. Keep the music alive my braddah- Fa'afetai tele lava & Manuia le aso - Braddah "T"
Troy you are the man. Hello from your friend in Brazil, I bought a ukulele and you sign for me. I am learning to play, you are great playing, I hope come back soon to Honolulu to see you playing again!!!
This is how the ukulele was meant to be played. I have been enjoying Troy's music since the Tropical Hawaiian Day CD came out more then 20 years ago. Has it really been that long? dang
Gonna have to second what my good braddah Pakesi (howzit!) an others have said. It's because of folks like you an Uncle Eddie that I wanted to start playing uke. Mahalo for that, an keep it up.
You are the resaon I wanted to start playing the UKE! Its going on 14 years now and I still love it! As you can see from ma videos!... "Surf" was the first song I learned! I think surf is the 1st song every1 learns! I still try to imress people with my atempt of "On Fire". I even did a video of no ho paipai on ma youtube!.... Thanks for all your insparation! UR THE MAN UNCO!!
Iaorana e mauruuru roa Troy, have a nice pleasure to listen your music .. feel so cool ! Greatsssssssssss maybe a day you will come to my island Tahiti !
Now first of all its been a privilege to listen to you jam session, i even got to participate back in the day when you came down to San Diego.
You were one of the reasons i also picked up the `ukulele, and many of the players today would likely say something very similar.
You definitely did it justice to Uncle Eddie Kamae, Aunty Myrna and to the Sunday Manoa (Uncle Peters solo is probably one of the best ever) and you did it beautifully.
Wow it's certainly an honor to watch you jam. You are an icon for me and your ukulele playing set the standard for future ukulele players. I would like to watch you play live just to feel your mana. And shake your hand. And maybe take a picture with an icon of mine...Mahalo Troy. :)
Very interesting harmonized section in Morning Dew - extremely melodic. Man that SunnyD sounds so crisp with those GHS strings. Love that ending in Pua Lilia - sounds like a 12 string recorded with the ukulele on top. Mahalo for da post! Johnny Pal of MangoDaville
Troy was good seeing in Waikiki, U da Best, keep up the Aloha Spirt. Hope to be out to see u Jammin and c people get ahhh by your music. Aloha Uce
