  • NEVER AND EVER BUY HP ENVY!!!!!!POOR LAPTOP

  • Mmmm well these new laptops r coming out cheap, there not firm B/ but I wana get 1

  • I'm Fucking in love!!!<3

  • you got ripped off.. haha my envy 17 doesn't flex at all...

  • Hey, you want a keybord with no flex? You want to know what a horrendous noise a keyboard with no flex makes? Look up and Apple ][e...

    clunkclunkclunkclunk...clunkclunk..clunkclunk

  • Lol so many retards on youtube, this video is to show the flex.. the flex is not a fault, but a thing that all laptops that has a quality beyond "shit" has.. And I personally like a flexible keyboard, way smoother to use. and doesn't bang into the floor when you sit at your desktop writing.

  • DO NOT buy this computer I bought one waited 2 weeks for it. Got it and it had no operating system on it. Then they sent a new one with a defective screen and told me they could not send me another one cause they cant do a return twice. So I waited a month to have no computer and have to go shopping for another one.

  • @matts4 so what does that have to do with the laptop? ur story is just a company fail not laptop fail.

  • flexy keyboards are so annoying...and mikes7337 , dude wtf you talking about?

it's cheap materials that hp uses to produce those keyboards.

I am using really old notebook (hp nc8000), and it has no fex whatsoever. It's about 6 yars old, and keyboard looks like brand new and it's absolutely fantastic to write on it.

  • @qwer55555555 A keyboard with flex is good cause you won't get annoyed by the CLICK CLICK noise.

  • Dude, its plastic...

  • I'm having the hardest time understanding why people are asking if the 3D can be turned off. To begin with; this isn't the 3D model and furthermore; do you really think they expect you to wear the 3D glasses all the time?

  • lol im scared of trying it

  • is the laptop good for gaming ?

and can you turn the 3D off when you play a game without 3D ?

  • Well who pushes on the keys like that while typing anyways.

  • @Andre4w I do, with full moon I smash them !!

  • flex are reviewed differently some may find it bad and some may not,

for me its bet. good and bad; I hate flex bec. a $1000+ notebook feels cheap rather than solid that will result to a classy more elegant feeling, but in performance it doesnt really matter, if you bought it and realize that you dont like it i suggest put a double sided tape behind the keyboard just like g53jw on some stocks are accompanied with, just a suggestions who does not have a choice.

  • Thanks.. I was actually kinda shocked myself.. Good Job !

  • for a companies top of the range model that is rubbish... as much as I hate apple I will go as far as to say - it wouldn't happen on a mac....

  • @Corp0ralPunishment Windows wouldn't happen on a Mac either. Some people need Windows, as the default OS (not through some dual-boot software), and will flock to this Mac-esque notebook for it's tasteful (in ways) design. I love the way a Mac looks and feels, I even love the OS. But I need Windows, and I'd go for this laptop over any of the MacBooks. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

  • lab tops or as some call them laptops the thing is this each lab top 1 will cost you more on the long run and only made for traveling business people further more if you want to spend 2 grand on a good one go ahead then try to upgrade it as you can do with a desk top you will pay 55 % more than what its worth im a desk top user but had many choices of getting a laptop so im totaly againt's this video as well im applauled that someone keeps making videos out of the the slowest pc

  • @techno12345 out there a desktop wlll out perform it by 25 to 30 % and easer and cheaper to upgrade at any cost so if you are not traveling and still love tog ame on a cheaper budget and and still love the pc try this have your data transfer and portability for only labtops only you find that gameing will always will be on the biggest platform as in a desktop and the most used if you know anything about pc and prossing power of each system im a pc tech and this is my pc min thx all =)

  • @techno12345 That couldn't be further form the truth. laptops these days are very powerful, and will often out perform desktops. A well equipped laptop will hold it's own against most high end desktops. A core i7 720 mobile CPU will perform as well as a Core i7 720 desktop CPU.They are both identical in specs and architecture. They both support 1066/1333 mhz fsb, they both have 45nm architecture, and they both perform equally. Laptops also have discrete video cards with dedicated memory.

  • @techno12345 After reading your posts, it's clear you have no idea what you are talking about. I've been a computer tech since 1987, and have worked with hardware specifically. Do your homework, before you start ranting about computer hardware and technology. It will save you from looking really stupid. Good Luck.

  • I have the HP Envy 17 1181NR. It's pretty solid throughout, and I don't have any flex on the keyboard....UNLESS I am pushing down as hard as you are. Most people don't press heavily on the keys, so I'm not really sure what your point of this video is. Any keyboard, no matter how expensive the laptop is, will flex, if pushed firmly enough.

  • At last a laptop to compete with the mac pro, I really didnt wanted to switch to maC, now i dont have to. :) happy

  • it really isnt a issue cause I dont think your gonna type that hard....

  • It's mean it's bad?

  • There is no substitute.

    (Mac)

  • After having the completely separated chicklets on my Vaio, I'm kinda of nervous about taking delivery of my Envy 17 tomorrow... I'll comment on it after i get some time on the laptop.

  • who cares?

  • mac have it 2 i checked it and they have a smaller keyboard so i dont think its a problem with the design

  • Wow nice keyboard and back-lit too, sweet.

  • i dont see what the issue is? bit of a non issue...

  • not even my mother press keys that strong :P

  • I get this problem all the time on my unibody MBP. LOL, jk, Jonathan Ive selected aluminium, a material with a high modulus. Quality Vs. quantity.

  • My friend owns one and it reduces shock when typing

  • The way flat island keyboards work this amount of flex goes unnoticed. However the flex itself doesn't reduce noise or soften typing. It's just the plastic springs under the keys, which are pretty good.

  • I need this... it will avoid all the noise my sister makes when she types on my damn laptop...

  • IF YOU PUSH ANY KEYBOARD DOWN WITH THAT FORCE THEY'LL DO THE SAME THING. DO A TEST RIGHT NOW, WITH YOUR KEYBOARD ON WHAT EVER LAPTOP YOU MAY OWN! SEE IF I'M LYING..I'M STILL BUYING IT!

  • I have a question here. So I'm preparing to buy this laptop... and I hate getting junk in between the keys, as pretty as the backlit island style is... I like to cover the laptop's keyboard with something- a towel, saran wrap, etc. and use an external keyboard. Is this going to cause overheating? envy 17 owners please let me know...

  • yeah guys, just think of an airplane wing ,which has the same concept.......... it also has to flex rather than a rigid one to make it more durable, sturdy and absorb the shock to comfort the scared passengers!!!

  • take the keyboard out, put some paper or rubber under it to support the entire keyboard.

  • how do you make a custom laptop, i want the hp envy without the disign on the back, i want it to be a glossy black, can anybody help? thanks plz

  • when a keyboard has give to it that is good....to tense of a keyboard can break if poorly made..i mean how hardly do you plan on hitting the keys

  • the envy was originally developed as a high performance laptop by a company known as voodoo, although it looks like a mac, thats not what the envy is created as. the laptop cost about 1000 dollars less than my i7 macbook. the flexibility of the keyboard is meant for absorbing the shock of you fingers. selling my macbook and getting this sounds like a good idea

  • Hm.. cheap plastic design gets you this.. so there you go.. lets copy the MacBook Pro, make it the same price but out of plastic and call it envy.. right.. nice one HP :-)

  • it's because of the backlight

  • Yeah i forgot when im doing something with the computer i usually push those keys like i was on angry mode all the time. Idiot.

  • tell you what, i have HP laptops, that huge HDX dragon, it's a awesome computer, had it for 2 years, HP makes general good computers, but THEY DONT KNOW SHIT about making keyboard, my laptop keyboard just broken so easily due to the design flaw.

  • is this supposed to be a good thing or bad?

  • It doesn't look that bad. It does have heaps more flex than my dell studio but it also depends on how much pressure you're applying. Not a turn off for me. And stop saying macbook wannabe. The HP Envy is way better than a macbook.

  • its trying to be a mac. haha

  • @mexiscoot13 macbook pro keyboards don't flex

  • Ok i never understood what was wrong with this flex thing what is it is it bad or something

  • Does it really matter if it's flexes? Who the hell puts that much weight on the keys anyways?

  • it looks like a want to be macbook pro lol

  • @arepepe so your saying only macs can have a chiclet keyboard and back lit keyboard i didn't think it was a patent just saying

  • @multimoney777 yea exactly NO!!! u dumb fuck i didnt say that i look too much like the one from the macbook pro plus i know its not the only one with a back lit keyboard the alien ware computers have it too but they dont look exactly the same!

  • @arepepe nobody is talking about dell computers one. two you cant type correctly. three your either a mac fan boy or an uninformed PC fan boy

  • @arepepe Ever heard of a period? Or any punctuation? Don't try to make points when you type like that. You just end up looking like a little kid and no one will take you seriously. Granted, your point here is stupid in the first place...

  • @NDogg15 wow seriously? why the fuck do people care if i misspell some words and missed typed something this isn't school"!!!!!!!" so get off my dick about "you didnt spell this right" or use correct punctuation if i really cared i would typed correctly but i dont give a shit! so fuck you "MR. ENGLISH TEACHER"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @arepepe I'm just trying to help. However, it seems that you are, in fact, a child, so you're sending the correct impression after all. My bad.

  • @NDogg15 well if it makes u feel good about ur self trying to always correct people on youtube by all means do what u have to do and yes sure i am a kid hmmhu if u say so but if i wanted your help i would ask for it but i dont so fuck off! and go help someone who wants help!

  • @arepepe Two words: Anger Management

  • @NDogg15 You bitches on YouTube really piss me off. Let people spell how ever the fuck they want to.

    :)

  • @DilatedHeart First of all, welcome to the internet! Second, he was trying to argue a point, and proper grammar is necessary in order to successfully do that. Third, letting people "spell how ever the fuck they want to" eliminates the whole point of the English language, or any language for that matter.

  • @NDogg15 LOL.

  • @DilatedHeart Nice comeback.

  • I'm pretty sure it's supposed to do this. I belief it's called "INNOVATION".

  • i thoughtthe laptop was made of metal LOL unibody

  • how hot does it get??

  • Dude it's meant to be like that. It's because

    1. To soften the typing experience, so typing becomes more comfortable.

    2. To absorb shock and subdue the vibrations and reduce typingnoise.

    3. It actually makes the keyboard and hardware below more durable and

will have longer lifespan because of 1. and 2.

  • @mikes7337 sound like a bad excuse ppl make to comfort themselves after receiving a flex keyboard... whether it's true or not i would prefer a firm keyboard that i can type comfortably on it, btw i hated the island style keyboard, why is hp trying to copy that fagbook in every perspective???!

  • Comment removed

  • @mikes7337 yeah of course it will - because to extend a laptops life the mobo underneath needs to be flexed by a cheap keyboard & un-rigid design to give those delicate BGA chips underneath a workout.... do a google search for HP gpu failure and you'll see which manufacturer has the largest BGA GPU failure rates....

  • @Corp0ralPunishment Yeah, of course it does. Because the keyboard sink is definitely going low enough to even make contact with the motherboard. Maybe HP just has shitty GPU's to begin with.

  • To all the people saying that it's not that bad...you're right! I didn't post this video to say that it's a bad issue, I did it just to show how much it flexes as someone on a forum requested this. So as I said in a previous comment, it is not a problem at all, in fact it's a very nice keyboard for typing on.

  • @jaxxkaos the flexing dosent matter anyway man coz you would be touch typeing and hoveing over the keys ... i know this might sound dickish but like there copying macs here and thats y there is still flaws

  • what kind of envy is that? my keyboard is solid dont flexes even if u hit it with your fist... just happend a cople of times... bc2 u know....

  • its not actually as bad as it looks

he must be pushing really hard cause my friends has barely any

  • who ever press on a key that hard in real life?

  • when is this coming to uk

  • The specs maybe better on the Envy but the Macbook pro is still the best in craftsmanship and the components in the MBP are always top notch.

  • @wretchedstare rather have a fast computer than a slow POS

    apple faggot

  • @Ltkshaka Actually I tell it like it is.

    I own both a Gateway FX 6800-01e gaming desktop with a Core i7,12GB of DDR3 and dual Radeon 5850's and a 2009 HP DV7 with a Core i7 chip, 6GB DDR3 and a GeForce GT320M besides my 2010 13" Macbook pro.

So I am far from a fanboy but I do have 20yrs working within the PC repair and IT area thanks.

  • @wretchedstare How come apple still hasn't yet incorporated quad cores, blue ray, or 1080p into their MBP yet? I'm debating between an Envy and a 17" MBP but the Envy blows the MBP out of the water in terms of bang for the buck in the mobility realm.

  • Is flex in a keyboard a real big turn off?

  • @Mikelaren101 nope nope nope youll only ever notice if your slamming the keys

  • that sucks. big turnoff. im buying a macbook pro

  • when is it released in canada?

  • @ItsVagTastic Its in future shop now, but they probably dont have it on display becasue it just arrived.

  • sigh... well- back to looking for another notebook

  • @MattByProXy asus g73 :)

  • huge turn off

  • @yudiputay Thats not a turn off its just how the keybord was designed

  • @Thetrutv the keyboard's design (chiclet/island design) has nothing to do with the flexing problem.

  • i think its designed that way for shock resistance. but i dont like flex myself, i do wish it was as sturdy as the apple mbp

  • two questions: can you switch the keyboard backlight off. What battery life do you get while using wi-fi?

  • I'm looking to buy my first laptop, but it's frustrating. I don't want a pricy, underpowered MBP with a non-removable battery and poor battery life in anything but Mac OS (which I don't want). I had my eyes on the Envy 14, but it has this same cheap keyboard tray. Why can't ANYONE besides Apple build a laptop without cutting corners on materials?

"Oh, we're finally fixing the mistakes we made with the Envy 13 and 15...so we'd better downgrade the keyboard build on these new premium models!"

  • @UnrealMiniMe: i don't like what i'm going to say right now, but did you look at the sony z series (or just any sony laptop)?

  • @voordeeldrogist The Sony Vaio Z does have above average build quality for Windows (or Linux ;)) laptops, but it's still not as sturdy as it could be. For instance, after Googling "Vaio Z," the first review (second link) mentions that the back of the screen bends. Plus, both the battery life and discrete graphics are weaker than I'd like (Envy 14 claims hit the sweet spot, and it has the slice), and Sony laptops come at Apple-style price premiums: $1900 for Vaio Z vs. $999 for Envy 14. :-/

  • Damn. That's a huge turnoff. Is this only for a couple of keys?

  • @zeth006 It's mainly in the middle of the keyboard, so around the F/G/H keys and also the middle of the keypad. It's not really that bad IMO, not an issue during normal typing that's for sure. In fact the feel of the keys during typing is rather nice.

  • @jaxxkaos Still...you probably don't get this problem with the Macbook Pros! Was hoping the aluminum/magnesium chassis would be stronger. =(

  • @jaxxkaos hahaha i can imagine it as a keyboard suspension system! might look bad but probably feels good like you said
