When I first saw this movie, I was roughly 19 years old. It didn't really make any diff to me that I couldn't understand shit out of it (Italian release, 86). But the music, combined with the scenes, man, it all made such a great impact on me that watching this flick still makes my hair go up every time (in 2011) :).

I loved this best of the series but I felt with a bigger budget this movie could have been expanded to show the overthrow of humanity by the zombies. There could have been a bigger cast and more settings where they traveled from outpost to outpost with helicopters and planes, the original was great the remake was not as good
@Zooroonies that's because Dawn takes place a few days after the event begins. Day takes place months or a couple years later. Then Land of the Dead takes place about 5 years after the first three. So in Dawn they were too fresh to be rotted do unless they died violently they wouldn't have wounds.
i love this movie, the zombies actually look real, unlike in dawn of the dead where the zombies just looked like normal people but with their faces painted blue.
1:48 LMFAO that was the most ridiculous scene i have ever seen in a movie they broke through the wall like it was papper and didn't even have any cracks in the wall afterwards. but it was a great movie, If it wasn't for George A Romero what would zombie movies be like today.

This installment didn't get quite the reception the other films in the original trilogy did, but it's still my favorite. It's hard to explain, but the atmosphere of it had a more profound effect on me than that of the other films. The musical score, the character dynamics, all of it paints a very dark and bleak picture of a world torn to shreds by an unfathomable horror.
And for me, that makes it more than just a monster/gore flick.

Not too many movies have moved me quite like this one. I saw it on kookíca last night and I'm still under the impresion of it. Incredible story. Incredible performance. definitely the best movie this year for me

I wish Capcom would have let him do the Resident Evil Movies like first planned. They pulled the plug and gave it to Paul W.S. Anderson.......a noob IMO when it comes to Zombie movies. Such a shame, he would have rocked that script.

I personally prefer the original script to this one.
Plus it would have given closure since at the end, it seems that whatever caused the reanimation stops doing so.

This installment didn't get quite the reception the other films in the original trilogy did, but it's still my favorite. It's hard to explain, but the atmosphere of it had a more profound effect on me than that of the other films. The musical score, the character dynamics, all of it paints a very dark and bleak picture of a world torn to shreds by an unfathomable horror.
And for me, that makes it more than just a monster/gore flick.
