  • nunca habia visto esa tecnica en electrica, mis respetos para este señor, simplemente un tacto exquisito para tocar la guitarra

  • Some ppl don't listen or care past a point of the performers music but they are the first to ask if you can bring your guitar over to share what you do. Strange appreciation Oh well some are too busy massaging egos rather than get down with harmonizing to the music that is presented before thine face. Let see if we can be louder than the musician! What a great jazz guitarist though. The price is going up next time they ask to play! haha

  • genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCKKKKKKKKKK!!! FUCKING PEOPLE THAT DOESNT STOP TALKING!!!!!! WHY COULDNT THEY SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO A MESTER??? shit

  • My religious leaning aside. The transcendent swell of emotions that are felt listening to a musician perform in the most quotidian of spaces of all, a cafe, are unparalleled. And when the musician in the corner of the cafe looks up from his or her most intimate journeys in sound and meets our eyes, that is truly something special. No matter how famous or esteemed that musician is, when he or she notices that his or her music is being appreciated amidst the chatter... he or she is ALWAYS touched!

  • We often bicker about the crowd, but let's be selfish for a moment. How many of us have been lucky enough to be one of the few musicians or music aficionados in the audience in intimate settings of a cafe. While all the others in the room may chatter in the room and talk of private pitty-patter, we look on memorized by some shaman preaching beautiful contra-punctual sermons. I'm sure we've all experienced that. Thanks for givin that experience beagle, and may the sounds of Wyble live on forever

  • @tymjar And such is the state of the arts in the U.S., in these times. A master musician, reduced to the role of background__an irrelevance, accompanying what, when compared to his performance, can only be described as, mindless chatter.

  • @tymjar "And such is the state of the arts in the U.S., in these times..."

Not just the US, the whole world.

Not just these times, since the inception of time and art.

Intellectual and art music are always forced to play second fiddle to popular and folk music. If all those folks had an understanding of music - they'd be quite as mice, or as quiet as folks in a classical concert.

  • Thanks so much for these videos Kevin - what an amazing player. Found these while googling Charlie Parker guitar licks, found your 11 Charlie Parker heads piece and then started browsing you other vidos. Went right out and ordered his Etudes book and downloaded a Red Norvo live concert on emusic.com Jimmy played on. Almost like you had a private audience with him. Thanks again these videos are awesome!

  • Excelente interpretación.

  • No entiendo como tocando un maestro como es este hombre, la peña esta charlando como si nada... Menuda pandilla de burros mal amarraos...

Yo cojo la guitarra por el clavijero y reparto hostias...

  • Jimmy is a MASTER at note movement and fabulous chord voicings !! : ))) Amazing !!

  • Yeah, it just makes me so sick that people are so utterly stupid, rude, deaf and dumb. Unfortunately it isn't limited to just this country - although we have it pretty bad. It's just average, generic stupidity. Put these people in a bad shopping mall where they belong and lock the doors!

But the bright side is, judging from the comments, there are at least a few people who still know enough and feel enough to appreciate this stunning artistry.

  • No Respect man, What a Virtuoso?

At least some of us appreciated him.....

  • this country is full of idiots. Sad that a master is in this setting but I know he does it with joy and doesn't mind. Beautiful..

  • Thanks for the video.

  • beautiful playing - thanks for recording and uploading this video.

  • 86 years old and still smoking--love it. Jimmy is playing for himself for the love of the music--not the inattentive diners. Of course they don't know what they missed and never will. Sadly, there's not too many venues for this type of music and this great musician, except restaurants.

  • This video says it all. Pearls for swine. They'll never know what they missed.

I am 71 years old. I've been in and around the music business since the forties. Thank God for Jimmy Wyble. He enriched my life with his artistry and once in any lifetime class as

    a gentleman. THPkid

  • What a great honor to see my uncle still playing and enjoying himself. I love him so much. Keeping playing and enjoying yourself. Thanks for the video.

  • I had the honor and pleasure of taking lessons with your uncle Jimmy at USC in the early 80's (probably 1982) when I was studying guitar there. I was just amazed to be able to have that opportunity to study with him for a year back then. Great to see he is still out there playing! He's one of the nicest people on the planet and a great player. I'm a fan of his contributions to Western Swing guitar playing as well as his other work. He is a legend. You're lucky to have him as your uncle.

  • it may be possible to clean up the audio a little bit

i would be glad to try

    thanks

    incredible yet

    frustration

  • thanks so much for posting this. what a treasure!

  • Gosh - I hate the "audience" but Jimmy's mastery is sublime!

  • 'audience' is too kind of term. more like ants at a picnic, they should have been dining with their ears and enjoying a most unique pleasure. next time, i will go direct. thx for listening / commenting

  • No worries Kevin - Jimmy was still a treat. Thanks

  • Jeez. Gab, Gab, GAB! Even if there wasn't a master musician at work, I would find those women incredibly annoying. Anyway, thanks for posting all these marvelous videos of Wyble and friends. A lesson a minute, and a treat to the ears.

  • people are so dumbed down these days and it shows. When generalized mediocrity is called art or music, it's no surprise people show no respect or interest for real musicians.

  • @kevinthebeagle I agree Kevin, they blew the chance to hear a great player by talking about a dress sale at the mall.
