  • where can I view the first version?

  • I was introduced to A Sand County Almanac in 1975 when I first moved to Wisconsin and took Reading the Landscape, an avocational course taught by Virginia Kline. His haunts became mine. His words still bring me tears with their beauty and truth.

  • I was given A Sand County Almanac by my mother as a Christmas gift when I was 19 years old. That was 40 years ago. I can't say it changed my life, but it added much to it and still does. I've read it again and again. Conservation has been my career and life. It is the way.

  • "The trumpet in the orchestra of evolution." Incredible prose...

  • This video is very wonderful. Like I always say, there is nothing as beautiful as nature. The love of nature is the beginning of wisdom. I am very proud to be a forester. I love nature.Long live all foresters and nature managers.

  • We'd better get busy soon! Time runs out.

'A new relationship between people and land' ... awesome video, beautiful images ... the story brought me to tears many times. My father was the same age as Aldo and was so proud of the time he served in the Forest Service, for so many of the reasons shown.

As folks stop in here and see this extremely well done video, I encourage them to favorite, forward, tweet, and post.
