  • @acidheadzzzz in military term. in the event of the imminent capture of a city, the government/military structure of the nation that controls the city will sometimes declare it an open city, thus announcing that they have abandoned all defensive efforts.meaning the attacking forces will expected to just march in and not bomb it.

  • judging from other videos of Manila, the city that got blown to bits was much smaller than present day Manila. Apparently there was a relatively "clean" but well-peopled Manila of the 1960s, and then skyscrapers and Indian-style traffic were all over the place by 2011, but you don't see much in the way of tall buildings in those war scenes. Hmm.

  • @hunter56999 and @peertiean You're Welcome! Wow I haven't checked out WWII apocalypse yet. I'll look it up. Whoever Capt. Griffin he sure did a great job. There are actually more documentaries by different people (army, journalists) about events in Manila in the past, but I'm still looking where I could get or buy a copy.

    I grew up in Manila and graduated from high school with the children and grand children of those who survived Santo Thomas.This is a true and accurate representatin of events in Manila during the war and no BS revisions need be made.
