I just came upon your video, am admiring the dry twist too, but are you transitioning or you just wanted to do your hair in this particular style? I'm transitioning (5 months), so that's why am curious, thankie :)
@Caribe22 I'm natural and just wanted to do something different. I've since perfected my dry twists. When I was transitioning I did a lot of roller sets and bantu knots. It worked for me until I was ready to BC. Thanks for commenting and hope you are a subscriber!
@Caribe22 Thanks for subbing! Bantu knots are where you twist (usually a two strand) your hair and twist it around itself...which in turn creates knots. You can secure them with bobby pins or something else. Later you take them out and it's supposedly creates a curly afro. Just search youtube or google 'Bantu Knots'. I've never done a video b/c I haven't done bantu knots recently. Hope that helps.
@TiffyStacey - I've seen someone (now as you have described it) done Bantu Knots on braids (makin a knot at the end with the hair itself), thanks beautiful. Stay sweet.
@LadyYasB Thank you girl!! Actually, I think it's a combination of the flax seed and shea butter. I think the shea butter helps weigh my hair down better and the flaxseed holds the shape. I love flaxseed b/c it doesn't make my hair stiff & lifeless...the nutrients in it replenishes my hair.
@lulu13hb Oh yeah definitely go for this look! But I would take the roller all the way up the hair instead of halfway...b/c the two textures will blend better. I also did Bantu Knots when I was transitioning, so you may want to try that. Thank you for the compliment!
@eyerize37 thank you...I almost want to cry b/c it's taken me so long to get it to a really healthy state. But I'm so glad you all have gotten a chance to see my progression. Just goes to show you, black girls can GROW HAIR! thanks so much for following me on this journey!
