  • Agh I can't get enough of this song it is soo relevant no matter what the decade

  • Blooming marvellous. I also find it intriguing that Ian Fleming said that he always thought that Bond had the looks of Hoagy Carmichael.

  • Rest in peace, Jane.

  • R.I.P. Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell (June 21, 1921 – February 28, 2011)

  • How far the American woman (alone) of today has fallen in comparison to what we see here. Today's American woman is beyond pathetic. I was born a good fifty plus years too late.

  • @equinoxranch Agreed....100% ohhhh Women today are sluts compared to these classic women....

  • @ukculture you may be forgetting that this is a film. a fictional representation of society at any time

  • @seanoreillyy - we dont forget that women today, dont have the same class as these women of yesterdyear, My mother was the same as thes efilms, classy, sophisticated and beautiful in mind, body and spirit, , not even modern celebrities painted up or not have this class....:-)

  • @ukculture You are so right! That were women at that times!! Real women, real woman!!

  • @equinoxranch I agree with you fully. However there seems to be an absence of gentlemen too. It is sad.

  • Jane Russell was lovely, a real woman. Sadly a large proportion of todays stars haven,t even got a small sprinkling of the the magic she had.

  • 1:00

  • I really want to see this movie.

    Someone PLEASE post it! :D

Jane Russell is gorgeous and a beautiful singer, -3

  • She was a superb girl.

  • He is called Victor Mature

  • i recognise the face of the guy who goes up to Linda but what his name? not in the film in real life!

  • had this song in my head for two days

  • Liked Jane Russell as a thirteen year old in 1960, less so Victor Mature or Manure as my sad old dad used to refer to him as. Yeah those were kinder gentler times me thinks folks.

  • Jane Russell looks beautiful and also sings beautifully. But I'll still prefer to listen to The Shadows guitar instrumental of this song.

  • The movie totally sucks until this song.. its fantastic! Great posting!

  • ♥....

  • victor mature.a real man

  • worth saving this gem

  • I always though Jane had one of the best smiles, right up there with Britney Spears and Lynda Carter

  • It's all about Hoagy's face and body language for me here

  • this song was number one in 1951-22 july :)

  • wat movie is this?

  • great duet-great song. rare!!

  • Jane Russell is trying so hard to be Mae West. Victor Mature is trying so hard to be Erroll Flynn.

Hoagy Carmichael seems happy to be Hoagy Carmichael.

  • Thank you for uploading this! Jane is so beautiful in this movie! ^^

  • mmmmmm, Victor Mature is a real man...and the perfect partner to Jane!

  • This is a great upload, the film is not on video and this treasure should be seen and heard!

  • Shit, that looks like Mr. Big!!

  • It's Victor Mature!

  • My wife Donna Lynn Carmichael Lessmiller is Hoagy's niece.

    I feel special... :-)

  • Hoagy's niece Donna should be proud. I think he was so unique. This video seems so modern.

I think that Stardust was one of the most wonderful songs ever written. My love to her and his family.

  • Wow, Jane sings and looks great, Hoagy sings, and Victor the Great looks great and gets Jane. And all in black and white. The AFI should give this clip an award for something in moviedom.

  • Holy crap, Mr Big went back in time!

  • haha lol

  • hahaha, i thought exactly the same xD

  • Jane Russell did her own singing and took it very seriously during her all-too-brief career. She teamed up with Rhonda Fleming, Connie Haines, and Beryl Davis touring nighclubs and supper clubs with a repertoire of spiritual songs in the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s. Jane's jazz cds still sell at stores everywhere. Quite a talent.

  • Nostalgia with a CAPITOL N.Great stuff.

Wish there was more of this around for old bodies like me.

  • burnt62, I believe that Jane is really singing. She sang in the musical "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" where she co-starred with Marilyn Monroe.

  • well actually to be all correct jane was the star of the actual movie but marilyn wanted first billing because she was the costar

  • SO good to hear this after such a long long time

  • A charming performance by both Jane Russell and the great Hoagy Carmichael.

  • Did she sing this or is she miming ??? "If" it is her voice it is a great shame she is only remembered as a big boobed bombshell.

  • Yes burnt62, that is indeed Jane Russell singing...she was quite a good singer. She sang in the majority of the films she made and made many records. A very underappreciated talent of her time!

  • I always found it interesting that Ian Fleming described James Bond as looking like that...

No, not the one in the evening gown.

  • She looks and sounds gorgeous.

    Love my Jane!!!

    xoxox

  • hm, you might be right, is it flowrider 'low'?

This tune is just great xcx

  • magical !!

  • this is one of my all time favourite you tube clips , hardly a day goes by with out watching it , it is supreme artistry on both hoagy and janes part that cannot be denied, a realy fantastic song, great performance by two all time greats of twentieth century culture .

  • these people were so talented and still managed to keep some perspective and have a good time

  • i THINK THERE IS A RAP SPNG THAT HAS SAMPLED THE low low low PART
