Just so people know its not the rope that bothers him, he does this in the field, stable, riding without his mask on. His full face fly mask eliminates 99% of the head shaking and i can now ride him providing he is wearing his mask.
My horse has headshaking sydrum PLEASE HELP!!!!!! SWAT in his nose helps just a little but he still hits me in the face sometimes....... plz if anyone has info please mesage me!!!!!!
Is it anything like tourettes syndrome in people where they can't control it??? My brother has tourettes and he can't control twitching his hands, arms, and shoulders(shrugging). (This just kinda reminded me of it...)
This is headshaking and probably not a good idea to have him on a shank. Try a partial nose muzzle and keep him out of bright sunshine and lighting. Call your vet if you have not; there is alot of research going on concerning this problem now as its becoming common and is very stressful for horse and owner. Good luck!
