I think its because its usually the first song they play and its a way of pumping the crowd up and that bit in the song is quite hard to sing live under one breath :P

and the bit at the end is different because...well idk but its awesome :D

@taylorcdabomb Well for starters, the scream that comes in at the end of that part would be hard to pull off after all that talking. Also, it gets the crowd a lot more pumped up to chant along with M Shadows. Another reason might be just for the simple fact that not everyone wants to go to a live show and hear a band play the song exactly like it is on the album. A little variety is always nice.
