  • I miss the motherland, and i look to the day when i can go and make it HOME again....PROUD TO BE ZIMBABWEAN...thumbs up if you are proud too no matter what happens or what has happened!!!

  • beautifull natural scenery

  • Born there but was brought to the states as a baby in the late sixties. I have always wanted to go home. No matter how screwed up it is now.. or that Rhodesia is now Zimbabwe.. its still where I was born and it will always be home.

  • Thanks Bud hope to see you in SA soon

  • @raoulmbabazi, No, you just took the country & turned it from a prosperous nation into one big ghetto so that everyone now lives like cr*p unless you are one of mugape's inner circle who lives well off the suffering of others.

Also, the land belonged to the SAN - you bantu moved down from the north & stole the land from them, so you cannot claim any moral high ground here.

  • if there is a paradise its karibe if theres a garden of eden it kariba nothing can beat it nothing has or ever will home sweet home forever and ever. zimbabwe will always be in my heart as my birth place and my home.

  • Great song. Thank you. I am missing Zimbabwe forever!!!!!!

  • Thanks alot dudes great video. Still dreaming about zimbabwe my home . it was great hope things improve

  • no more white people in zimbabwe. No more ghetto life while a white person has a big surbub. now we can get the education we want. Nore more Ian Smith's times. those times were hard for us black people. but we can make our land that we deserve. the land belonged to our forefathers and we fought hard for it from the oppressors. down with oppression.

  • @raoulmbabazi whites didnt make life bad for you we gave you shelter food jobs ETC so stop trying to make it seen like were a bunch of bitches

  • @snellyification sorry it wasn't me, i left my computer session opened, i'm not even zimbabwean

  • Nothing and nowhere to beat it - oh I miss it!!!

  • I miss home :-(

  • Im dreamin 2 ma broda

  • The time is getting closer for our people to return we shall bring back rich's with us from around the world !!!!!

  • Stunning footage, editing and vision mixing perfect - thanks so much! YES, THE VALLEY OF ZAMBEZI was my home - will again be my home - with the call of the Fish Eagle. Truly one unique Rhodesian Nation - a Nation that cannot be duplicated - a land belonging to God! Thanks again Guyandjeremy!

  • Thanks again for this! We are in the midst of a "Mashonaland " heat wave here in Vancouver, and I'm missing m' old favorite places in our dear old Rhodesia.

    Beautiful! Ta'

  • Super song; fantastic photos - We all dream about our home. Muzweta steric!

  • Tiger fishing and sundowners at Sunset in Zimbabwe. Doesn't get any better.

  • Wish youtube had spell check. Hats of too all Zimbabweans for putting their lives on the line. Good thing about Zimbabwe is that Mugabe can not destroy Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba, Zambezi Valley. With all the starvation going on i imagine the prolific wildlife has taken a beating with poaching. Hang in there, Mugabe can't live forever.

  • Great great song, spectacular photo's. In some trouble right now. How could the world let the communists take over. Anyone has to think just for a moment, has communism ever worked. I take my hat to all the Black and white Zimbaweans, formerly Rhodesians for putting theif lives on the line fighting off the Communist Invasion of Mugabe and Nkomo. The world let you down when they cut off your arms shipments. Was a jewel and can be one again. little bit of corruption free Democracy would help.

  • Brilliant ... Thank you ....Alf Hutchison

  • @Rhodesianity GOD WISHES !!

  • This is great. You have chosen the perfect song for it and brilliant pictures.

  • Makes me miss Zimbabwe even though I'm still here...

    Breathtaking.

  • Zimbabwe must rise up now!

    zimbabwe was a great Country!

    Its Mugabe he must go...

    You can do it Zimbabwe.

  • One day we will all return from all the corners of this earth and with abundant knowledge we shall rebuild our country back to its former glory and greater. That is the hope I hold in my heart for all our people. May the sun shine once more on our beautiful country. Thanks for the great memories that you brought back with this video clip.

  • Fantastic song, captures the true depth of Zimbabwe. I got back yesterday and still gotta love the place - you go Bud

  • Good song Dude. I am a Zimbabwean and I`m happy to say Zimbabwe is still beautiful and everyone is welcome.

  • It was the most beautiful country in the world!!! It is not my birth country. I lived there only 5 years but i will never forget it. I would say this is my home!

  • I want to go home!

  • Beautiful music and country. My daughter is going with a friend who was born there & has relatives still living there; will be a great adventure.

  • Zimbabwe is still beautiful........ but not as captivating as that.

Brought shivers down my spine. Stunning.

Miss home so much, think and pray for it every day. Can't wait to go back in Nov, if it's still there.

Absolutely amazing video, brought tears to my eyes.

  • its a beautiful song..........

not too sure bout that ex rhode comment though!

  • not to sure about my comment. can you explain in more detail

  • I forget sometimes how privileged we were to be among such beauty and the majestic animals. The feeling of being close to God like that last scene- those two people sitting on the lake side enjoying the sunset - man that is awesome. Yeah Zimbabwe may be in a mess but we will carry the pride of being a Zimbabwean forever. That poor country has been ruined - - think of the people left behind suffering under that idiot. Great video and a honour to our home.

  • Great Pictures and wonderful music.. I have only left Zim 6 months ago, but this song makes me home-sick!!!

    Best regards

    Ewan Tilley

  • This made me cry - been away for nearly 10 years now. Thanks so much.....

  • Awesome, Bud... thanks a lot, man!

  • I cried when I saw this. I could smell the dust and rain of the Zambezi valley where I worked at Chikwenya for Brian Worsley. I am sadly now in UK feeling very homesick longing for home. I was wondering if you had contact details for Brian?

  • Bud can you help me i am looking for the record we had as youngsters,,,,,,called 'agh please daddy'. would you hav ea copy to place on here for us to listen to, words and all.

  • i am an ex rhode and listening and seeing the photos makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

  • It makes me feel so sad for a beautiful country that's been trashed - and I'm an Aussie who spent only 1 year when it was Rhodesia. But what a year!!

  • thank you very much for the wonderful memories i felt for a while i was back in Zim .I would like to say although Zim is our land some of us wee not fortunate to visit most of the places shown on the slides we were not that well up so coming in the Disapora was a break thru coz we couldnot affordd boarding fees let alone go to vic falls.

  • Hi Bud,

Fantastic effort..Our country truely "Gods" country. We all long to go home soon and rebuild our country once again.

Thanks for this heart warming remind of our beautiful land and people.

    Regards

    Luppies and Family.

  • Bud, I loved your song, sung with great feeling and pride, I too miss my home, and listining to your music made me realise just how much. Thanks

  • Oh dear ... such feelings evoked beyond our normal ones - how we long for the ability to return ... one day we can go back and help resurrect the best land in the world .... thank you for putting this video online

  • Great video. Absolute 5 stars!!!

  • Thanx Bud, for making me home sick....I remember when you use to sing at the Hanger in the 80's... those were the days!!!

  • Excellent makes me proud to be able to call myself Zimbabwean

  • excellent, made my wife cry last night listening to this, we from Kariba been in UK 3 years and wish we could go home very day. Great Song and proud to be Zimbabwean. Economy is trashed but the country is still beautiful however the game is getting very sparce thanks to the government using the game to feed the diamind miners in Congo.

  • Bud thank you for a lovely song, a song of our past, a song of the land we all loved so much, no matter where we are now. even though we move on in our lives and adapt we all belong to a land of honour, love, friendship, brother/sisterhood. These come with us as we travel through life, even in our new dimensions. THANK YOU for a video of respect, beauty and memories. Well done!!!!! -- "taking only positive thoughts as I forge forward in life!"

  • Could not have put it better myself. We have to move on.

However the memories will always remain - we have been so lucky.

    Good luck wherever you are

    Ex Rhod Air Force

  • familydayout.

    Greetings,

My father was in the R.R.A.F,Salisbury then Gwelo. so you are family! I live in Tennessee USA, & U?

  • Yes we ARE family Chermarke !

I know both Gwelo and Salisbury very very well. I was at both !

I am now on the South Coast of England ( mind you, this countries in a right state ! ) Better of in Tennessee trust me ! ( At least you have a government that puts the intrests of the USA first. Over here the Labour Party lets terrorists run around the streets - I'd like to call the Govt something not very nice - God bless you and keep in touch on this site from time to time.

  • Absolutely beautiful song - I am not homesick one bit but this managed to pull some heart strings - nowhere else will you hear that fish eagle cry! Fantastic!

  • Very pretty, nicely done - but not remotely representative of my memories of the country I grew up in. We were not amongst the privileged Zimbabwean whites who got to see all those lovely touristy things - which could, quite honestly, be anywhere in Africa. Rhodesia to me means nothing more now than a memory of friends and a great childhood. I'm an Aussie. THIS is my home.

  • Absolutely gorgeous. Haven't been home since we left and to be honest this is the only thing that has made me feel homesick. Amazing person whoever made this. Highlighting all the good aspects for everyone to remember. Good on you

  • zim mite be a mess now but it was once a beautiful place and this video shows that!!im proud 2 be a zimbabwean and always will be,its my home!!!

  • So beautiful - thank you to who ever made it, my heart is breaking as I watch it, but watch it I will.

  • I come from Zim and it is a mess, worse place ever nowdays, no electricity, meat, milk, police, government. just a free for all

    Thanks buddy up yours

  • I know I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and now live in the USA. It breaks my heart to see the mess of that beautiful country.

  • "Part 2"

Do we love our "teapot-shaped" country (not going to get anyones 'sensibilities' in a tizz by using either the R or Z word) yes we do, finished. Now look at what's happening, & not just now, but since the green berets hit Matabeleland in the 80's, do we like that? No, so what are we going to do about it, apart from lament about the suffering that we are going through? Think people, think, & then stop thinking & do.

  • Please guys - get a grip, depending upon ones age & when one left our home, or whether we're still here. We call ourselves Zimbos, Rhodies, whatever, does it make a difference, we're all the same - regardless what the latest name on the map is. Is the name important? No - focus on something that's important - not nitty gritty nothingness.

  • Something to be proud of " our Home "

  • FANTASTIC.. Makes me proud of who we are - RHODESIAN'S.. This video is really something to be admired. Well done.

  • we're zimbabweans my friend, rhodesians are living in dreamland, get over it and be a part of zim today.

  • your are a moron , lokk at what a mess zim is in , you really want to be associated to that

  • Home is home it may be a mess but at least we can spell. idiot

  • Do yourself a favour, I might not be able to spell, but look under the adds here on Rhodesia and look at the one that shows it as it was just a mere 30 years ago, compared to now, look at all, ALL, the people on the streets and you can see what that Buffoon has done to this place, Zimbabwe Ruins has just got a whole lot bigger and read a Book written by a Black guy from Nigeria call the " Capitalist Nigger" and it will shock you

  • Fair Comment. No offence intended. Rhodesian/Zimbabwean, all the same. One people, however old they are....

  • Oh yes Bud, a beauty! Clinging on to hope that one day we can go home. Les (mud island)

  • I was blown away...Do you think you could send me a copy?

  • wow i was so touched, bring backs so many memories. brought a little tear to all our eyes. THANX.

  • Thank you very much Bud. Precious memories and yearnings, stored in my heart, of the half a century, I was priviledged to have lived in the country I call my home.

  • Beautiful - thanks Bud. One thing cannot be ever taken away and that is memories.

  • Bud - You beauty! Thanks for the memories

  • Thanks Bud,

Absolutely beautiful and moving - But I shall never go back - some things are best left as memories.

It is in our blood - that can NEVER be taken away.

  • Great job. Quite a contrast to what we've read about lately. I'm still amazed that "the monster" is still alive....hopefully he'll be booted soon in one form or another. The damage has been done though, and we all hope it can be rebuilt quickly - those poor, poor people. The video brings back memories fo'sho! Thank you!

  • Beautiful............thanks for reminding us of the colours of the sunsets and where we really come from. We are all so honoured to have lived and loved Zimbabwe.

  • Great song Bud, remember it well! Even better with video. Will make sure Roland and B get to see it too. Keep it up. Please do Zambezi Sun as well. We've been in Perth since 2002 - but still enjoy the memories of "home"!

  • Truly awesome video, such happy memories of one's carefree childhood. Thanks so much. Just wish that my grandkids could live the dream

  • Oh my God!!!!Thank you so much. That is the most beautiful thing i have seen since I left Zim in '88.I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face and the memories are flooding. Lets pray that one day, the monster will go and peace and prosperty will return to our beautiful home.

  • Tears ! - You're not alone there ! - So difficult to explain the feeling to people who have never been luck enough to have lived in Rhodesia

  • amen to that the tears flow freely when remembering our beloved home land. . . hoping to go home one day too !!

  • Hi Deepquake,

Just keep the memories. We have to move on. It's not easy though - you will make new and good friends - trust me.

Although that special bond that united us will not be there anymore, we will all come through it, or have come through it.

Good luck ! - Now go and pop a beer !!!

  • Thanks, getting settled but you are right the bonds from home are something special. the memories will never fade . . . it is home.

  • You beauty Bud, can't stop checking it out. MAN I miss that valley!

  • fantastic memories, thanks!

  • Hey Bud - Thankx for the memories. Great Video. One day soon we can all go home and rebuild our beloved Country to its former glory and more - It was truly Heaven on Earth and can be once again

  • Really brings a tear to the eye, thanks for the happy memories

  • I also dream about my "home" watching this makes me yearn to go back. I wonder...........?

  • Hey mate, Awesome video, thanks for bringing a smile to my face. Someday we wont have to dream about our home. Someday we can call it home again.
