I found some old RTé guides from the 80s and got hit with a nostalgia bomb when I saw the starting and ending times for the channels. (Sometimes at 11PM)

If you back another mere 10 years, TV didn't start until 3-4pm, and closed down before midnight. Of course, the were a lot less repeats than today's 24 hour TV - except during the summer which was nothing but repeats :-)
