Not true. Engineers are required by law to blow the horn, weather people stop or not. Even if nobody is there, they are still required by law to blow the horn.

Well, then you should also know that you can loose your job for NOT blowing the horn. I know a guy that used to work for UP, he hit a car once and then lost his job, turns out he blew the horn for 12 seconds, instead of the required 15....
Why is the sound delayed several seconds behind the video? Must be a Youtube phenomena. Locomotive horns travel thousands of yards and bother others far from the crossing. I like their sound, but with signals, they are unneeded. Nice of him to do that for you.

Terminated brain, I just read that he blew extra for ic6071. That additional blowing is not a proper signal for a next crossing -which you should have seen there in none. Also not emergency blowing for a kid. Because of your stupid attitude, many communities are establishing No Whistle Zones.

Terminator what ever needs to cool it, but it shouldn't bother people too much since only 2-4 trains go through here a day. There are not any houses near here anyway.

Very impressive Nathan P5 horn! Quite a loud one too. I've also filmed a very loud K5-HL horn on a CSX train once.

very nice sounding third generation P5. one of my favorites. My all time favorite would be a Leslie
RS3-LR. That's just from working with Conrail. Nothing says "GET OUT OF MY WAY" like a Leslie.
