She is kidding and having a laugh in some of the out takes on the dvd , but also on the dvd the director said that she was very in character and would do a scene and then go and stay by herself. But when you're doing this type of role I think it would be hard to get really close and funny with everyone, when you have to be a bitch to them afterwards. And I don't really care how she acted on set when she did such a fabulous job on screen. I love her and she is a blessing to the world <3

Some people believe that Meryl Streep's 'mannered' method acting in the big reason why she has not won more acting Oscars. To the best of my knowledge she has only won one Best Actor Oscar and won Best Supporting Actress Oscar. (Both early on in her career.)
