Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Two questions:

1. What do you think about limited edition sets of MAC brushes? There's an offer including #194SE, 204SE, 224SE, 266SE and 275SE for $50. Do they worth the money?

2. Could you suggest cheaper alternatives (like Loew Cornell) to MAC brushes #242, 252, 266, 219, 275 and 231?

I have the MAC 242 and never use it. I only really take it out when I apply something creamy because (I think?) the bristles are synthetic. I just designate synthetics = creams so I never thought to use it with my shadows, I always go to the 239. I will have to give it a shot for powder shadows.

You never use the 242? GASP!

The 242 is a great brush for initial product application when doing a smoked eye. Apply your eye base and pat the product on. Depending on the intensity you are going for you pat pat pat. Then you blend.

how do you wash your 224? when i wash mine it goes WOOSH all over the place -_- I dry it laying flat and i try to shape it. I use just regular baby shampoo + conditioner.

After cleaning your brush, wrap it in a tissue or paper towel, so that it'll dry to its original shape.

If you use paint, paint pots, or if you scrape ur UDPP out of the tube, the 249 works good for that... pretty useless other than that tho. lol.

Don't have it and never tried it. BUT, according to EnKoreMakeup's Paint Brushes vs. MAC Brushes video, the 3/8" Maxine's Mop by Loew Cornell is comparable to the 239. So if it is a substitute for the 239, that I'd have to say that I love the 239. lol :)

Thank you so much for the 242 recommendation i watched your videos and saw you using it then after i saw this i was like i have to get it and its freakin' amazing! to me it feels like inbetween a concealer brush and a eyeshadow brush nothing else is like it and it really does put the eyeshadow where you want it to go!
