when i was watching this i was crying. i couldnt beleive he lost his sight. i cried the most when he feel were ed and everybody was and he was like why is it so dark in here and ed knew he lost his sight. :'( i was crying at this part when i read the manga and when i was watching the show.

He was forced to open the gateway by King Bradely and Pride and they took his eyesite away....and it was his eyes because he looked to the future or sumthin.....you should really watch the episode though, its awesome =)
