that barking was actually my dad, peter, who was playing for parr band on Eb bass, its something that he does,, a lot

still plays with parr but now on cornet

It's a shame in recordings you can barely ever hear the basses...they have a lovely part in Ravenswood!

.....but weren't actually placed in the top 5 at Delph where this performance was filmed......

...and very rarely are for whatever reason. Which has sadly meant that in these days of a very crowded Whit Friday, where you are lucky to get through 7 or 8 Saddleworth contests, Delph has become a low priority.

This 1998 band you see are the fantastic set of players who won the Nationals 1997, and Europeans, Masters and Nationals in 1998. Something never achieved before or since. Great band.
