I think the idea of subservience as a form of glorification is what turned me off of the idea of a judeo christian religion to begin with. How can a deity claim that he is like our "father" and then be impressed with blind reverence? I know if I had children I would glory in there strength, not there submissiveness. on the other hand, the church is there as a means of mass control, so it seems logical that that is what it would preach. no shock or change there.
