  • How much would it be for a new headphone jack because mine is broken or something, cant hear anything with the headphones and my screen has dust or sand in it.

  • Does replacing the LCD screen mess with the memory?

  • @alanihawaii123 i doubt it since its not really going to mess with the hard drive or what ever its called

  • If i sent you my ipod touch 3g 32gb to replace the headphone jack (which is missing one of the screws to hold it in place, so i would need another one of those) how long do you think it would take for you to have it fixed and shipped back?

  • @CoRkSkr3w Currently our repair times for an iPod Touch 2nd or 3rd generation model is between 3 and 7 days. The turn time depends on what part is damage and what precisely is needed to repair it. For a simple headphone jack installation you should obviously be on the 3 day end of that, however we do have orders placed en mass which is way we say up to 7 days.

  • Could you guys fix the home button for a 2nd generation ipod?

  • is the static discharge going to be a problem if so what can i do or buy to solve this problem

  • Comment removed

  • My 3rd generation iPod Touch works just fine, except the screen is always dim. There might be water damage, but when I look into the headphone jack, I don't see red. Is it possible to fix the lighting problem by replacing the LCD screen, and if so, how much would it cost?

  • my ipod touch fell in my cereal and now the screen is white,..... Can that be fixed..... XP

  • @SmileyyFaceeCutiee We would need to Diagnose the device before comming to a proper conclusion. Though in general if the iPod can still be recognized by iTunes, then we may be able to help. If the iPod is not connecting to iTunes, then you may have damage to the logic board. We are not able to repair the logic boards on the iPod Touch models, as the cost for the logic board itself would outweigh the cost of a new iPod Touch.

  • @digiexpress

I dropped my IPod touch 3rd gen and now it has the white screen, how much can you estimate it will cost to fix it?

  • @cxpylz The LCD screen itself would probably need to be replaced and is currently $29.99 for the part and our repair service is $25.00 (+s&h). More information is available on our website.

  • @DigiExpress How do you remove the old home button assembly from the old ipod touch 2nd GEN screen? The inner LCD is not cracked, only the outer screen. I have a new frame+screen but no home button. HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE HOME BUTTON ASSEMBLY FROM THE OLD IPOD TOUCH 2nd GEN? I have my ipod taken apart right now. Please help me.

    Thank you.

  • @btayebnejad look at the metal rectangle sitting right below the home button. This metal rectangle is on the mid-frame and attached to the metal rectangle is the home button flex cable (the actual circuitry for the home button). Simple remove the old flex cable and install into the new mid-frame. You may need a bit of heat (from a heat gun not a hair dryer) to loosen the adhesive, but otherwise you should be fine. Sorry for the delayed response.

  • @btayebnejad Sorry for the delay in responding to your question, which amounts to free tech support I might add. Heat up the original front panel assembly with a heat gun for a few seconds, remove the glass, remove the home button flex cable from the metal rectangle on the mid-frame. You can now reuse the home button flex cable, as well as the original home button. Be careful not to break your mid-frame if you need to reuse it for anything.

  • what do you charge for ipod touch headphone jack repair?

  • @IhBraveslax22 Repairs for any issue start at $25.00 and if parts are additional there would be an additional cost. The replacement headphone jack part itself is $19.99 for most iPod Touch models. More information is available on our website.

  • my ipod wont sence touch.... the glass is not broken is it the digitizer?

  • @gameking150 If there is no water damage, then it would seem as though you need a new glass digitizer. DO NOT purchase a digitizer seperated from a glass piece, this will not work ever. Only purchase a glass and digitizer combination, then you should be on your way to a working iPod Touch.

  • @DigiExpress what if there is water damage? my ipod went for a little swim and the touch screen won't seem to work now... It can connect to itunes but the screen is very dim and again the touch screen doesn't work. Someone told me they think it might be the flex cable board? what should i do?

  • @TheSamonator96 You would need to replace the glass digitizer and LCD screen at minimum. Though the whole issue of a backlight can be either LCD screen or a logic board issue. Water damage is a tricky issue, though we do have a Diagnosis service that can through everything but the kitchen sink at it. Obviously in an attempt to repair the device and not actually throw a kitchen sink at it. More information is available on our website.

  • im gunna try this aww my itouch broke

  • It help me a lot

  • What if I don't own an iPod Touch? Do I have to buy one first?

  • If I send you a mail including my broken ipod and a new headphone jack, will you charge less?

  • @aquafire07 We can only install the parts that are purchased from our website. If you have purchased the replacement headphone jack from another website, we cannot install it for you.

  • how do you solder? what is soldering

  • @aquafire07 Take a moment and do a Google search for "How do your solder?", there will be plenty of results for helping a beginner learn how to solder.

  • thumbs up if u broke it

  • הוא שבור אז למה לפרק בכלל, להרוג אותו?

  • What if you don't have those iPod touch opening tools? ): I need my iPod touch fixed.

  • Great info, thanks. Lose the music.

  • This vaguely helped, my iPod touch's screen didn't work properly, so I thought fuck it and took a penknife to it, I managed to break off some of the glass, and now my iPod touch works perfectly? touchscreen is functioning perfect and everything

    cheers, in a way :D

  • is there a way to replace the audio jack?!

  • @25MineCrafterX5 The headphone jack is soldered in place as well as a screw in the housing. It is replacable, you can buy the part and do it yourself if you feel up to the task; though we do offer a Diagnosis / Repair service where we would do the work for you. Please visit our website for more information or to place a repair order.

  • @DigiExpress how much would it be to repair my ipod touch2g it has no screen our outside and i think the home button is broke?

  • @DigiExpress how much would that come out to be

  • is there a way to replace the charger part?!?

  • @25MineCrafterX5 The 30-pin dock connector is not replaceable on this model.

  • help my ipod touch is frozen on my home screen with yt and app store and such and it WONT TURN OFF HELP!!!!

  • Hehe, my iPod, got very hot, then turned off, and never came back on, now, a year later, I got a new iPod, and I tore the glass of my old one to see what it is like xD

  • i need some! i bought a new digitizer and replaced it and checked all the connections but i still have no response. i can not slide to unlock. and its not the digitizer caus ei bought two and i got the same results. any ideas?

  • @iPhoneNemesis if you have tried two separate parts to find the same issue, then you can assume the receiving end of the connection (the logic board) is damaged. Unless you have two replacement parts that are themselves defective.

  • @DigiExpress thanks! but i found the problem. at the end of the flex cable that connects to the logic board there was a little water spot from something i guess was spilled on it. since i got it from a friend i didnt know but i just wiped it up and let it dry for about 30 mins and now it works perfect. thanks for the help!!

  • So I just replaced a screen using your video and am now having trouble. The trouble I'm having is only the top of the screen will respond, not the bottom. Any idea on how to fix this?

  • My audio Jack is messed up and won't feed me left speaker information unless i wiggle the audio plug around a little and sometimes not at all. Is that repairable?

  • @MasterAnge

Yes. That is a common problem. We can replace the headphone jack for you. Please visit our website for details.

  • @MasterAnge wooow i just bought a used itouch off craigslist and now it has that exact problem

  • @MasterAnge you have to remove one of the screws on the headphone port piece (form the inside), move around it till it works properly, then screw it down tightly. However, from my experience, it is only a temporary fix.

If you look at it and see some wear on the ribbon around that area, that may be the problem. Which means it needs replacement.

  • is it possible to just replace the glass part you took off at 2:00.

Because my ipod works fine its just the screen is cracked a little. ( I bought it used)

I don't like the way it looks

  • @Sissy2468 yes, as the glass screen on the very top is the digitizer, but it isnt as easy as it looks and very easy to break other shit (like the frame either when you take the frame off the digitizer or just taking the digitizer off at all) I would reccomend dealing with it.

  • hi i took my glass screen off my ipod 2nd gen and the home button seems to look different than in your video and i cant unscrew the screws to open the LCD

  • why would u break a ipod touch

  • hi just want to know if any1 can help me here after i took my ipod touch apart due to water damage as it would not start i removed the battery connected the usb cable and i just get an apple logo that flashes on and off every 3-5 seconds is this normal

and will a new battery fix this

    cheers jon

  • is there any way to replace a iPod 2G Memory chip with a iPhone 3G Memory Chip. I still have my broken iPhone and i wanna replace the memory chips. Please Reply.

  • mine wont charge at all, well it'll go to like 2% then thats it...

  • @digixpress thamx mam

  • My itouch will turn on but in will not slide to unlock anyone knows y

  • @Iv4n07 It is probably the Glass Digitizer, the piece that is touch sensitive. I would assume that by replacing the Glass Digitizer, your touch functions will return.

  • my ipod will not sense touch.... if i flick near the top it will work for like 3 min if i"m gentle with it.... if i replace the digitizer and screen will that fix it? the screen is not cracked but i dropped it a few times with a case on it.... but it worked fine after that... and now its broken

  • @gameking150 You may just need to re-seat the ribbon cable going from the glass digitizer to the logic board. This is what I would assume is the problem, given the description.

  • hey have a questions...um what color does the thing that detects water damage turn to when its wet.....what are the symptoms for water damage....is it like screen not working..ipod diying all the time.....touch screen not working....is that water damage?????

  • @nonlose Water damage sensors are white, if they are in contact with liquid they turn pink or red.

  • where can we get this tool for pop out the winddow cause im from montreal please if u know send me a message. ( ou peut-on acheter l outil pour enlever la vitre du ipod si vous le saver s.v.p envoyer moi un message)

  • i tried but the screen did a white flash because i jumped in a pool with my ipod and i dont wana risk breaking my ipod even more! also the screen works now but when i tryed charging it it just stays on the charge screen an d doesnt charge at all what should i do? btw its a 3rd gen

  • thumbs up if your doing this to jailbreak

  • i opened up my ipod touch 2g because i was going to loosen two screws for the headphone jack. i didnt want to take the risk of anything going wrong so i just snapped the screen back on. then i tried to unlock but it didnt let me slide. the on/off switch works and the homebutton and the volume but the screen wont let me touch. PLEASE HELP ME :(

  • @sonboi100 When you put the screen back on the device, the ribbon cable for the digitizer had probably come loose. You'll need to open it again and check the ribbon cable for the digitizer. The cable sits in one position for so long that when you do open the iPod the cable has a "memory" of the way it was bending to sit on the connection. Try this, but be very careful.

  • I replaced my glass digitizer screen, but there is still no response. Is there something else that may be the problem? LCD display works fine, but there is no response when I try to slide it on. If I hold the power button until the "slide to power off" screen appears, I can touch the cancel button and get a veeeerrrrrrrry slow response to that. Are there different models of digitizers among 2nd gen touches? Or are they all the same model? Or does it matter if they are different models?

  • @vparlier there are different grades of parts (A through D), just like a report card. A is a quality part (ours are OEM quality A rated), then you have the "10$ screen on eBay" which is gonna be used or a D quality part. Since the digitizer does respond, only very slowly, you may have a bad part or the receiving end of the connection is damaged. The receiving end is actually the Logic Board which is not cost effective to replace. I would contact the seller of the digitizer about a warranty.

  • @michiganmanm Mine broke too when I tried to pry the glass off. what exactly happened to yours? I couldn't get the screen all the way off so I just gave up, but now the touch screen doesn't work.

  • @ihatemyjobman Yep, same here...

  • I've got the 2nd Gen iPod Touch (8 GB) and for some reason it only turns on with the power and home button instead of just the power button. It pretty much turns on in the style of a reboot instead of a normal power on. It freezes constantly, sometimes every 3-10 seconds and sometimes it will freeze up several hours later. sometimes i also get a white screen on it for no reason. i've restored it and it didnt fix the problems i have with it. please help :(

  • hey will the ipod touch turn on if the lcd screen is broken?

  • i tried to take of the screen and it started to crack. what should i do

  • @Dmac344 You would need to take a breather, and try it again. It does take a moment to "feel" where the clips that are holding the backplate and mid-frame together.

  • Awesome vid. just followed this so I can put the prongs for the charger back into place and actually charge it! Now....my home button doesn't work.....any ideas?

  • @Blade2xtremeFTW Check the Gold colored "spring" that sits below the home button, as well as the alignment of the flex cable (the flex cable gives the home button the pop or click feel). These pieces are probably not aligned with each other.

  • I just destroyed my old Ipod Touch trying this, fuck me..

  • (first of all sorry for my english :p but i'll do my best to explain) my ipod doesn't charge i don't know why or how... it just stopped from charging and every time i've tried to it doesn't even last a min and then the symbol of battery fully charged appear and then it turns off...could u tell me if it's really the battery or something else? and what type or battery it use so i can try to search for it where i live plz! :D

  • @xKarla22x It could be the battery or the logic board (Main Electronics Board). The logic board controls the charging of the battery. If you would replace the battery and find it would be doing the same thing, then the issue is with the logic board. There is no easy way to tell. We do sell the batteries (with a lifetime warranty) for $9.99 on the iPod Touch.

  • my i dropped my ipod and cracked the screen and now music only plays thru the right speaker. i have to put pressure on the headphone jack so that it is pushing up on the screen for music to play on the left. is there a way to fix this?

  • @chunkysalza The headphone jack solder join probably was broken in the drop. You would need to resolder the lead to the pad on the logic board, or just replace the headphone jack with a new one. A replacement headphone jack, OEM quality, is $19.99 on our site.

  • my ipod touch 2nd gen's usb port broke right down the middle so now if i plug the usb cable into it it doesnt connect.is it hard to fix that on my own and or where can i find the replacement parts?

  • @voxac30blues that is the 30-pin connector that is broken on your iPod. While there are some who may sell you the part, you need special equipment to properly solder it into place. It is not something a novice should attempt, as you can damage the charging circuitry around the area. We do not repair logic boards on iPod Touch models.

  • My iPod touch 2g got wet and the touch doesn't work all the time sometimes it work and sometimes it just doesn't respond until i lock it and open it what is the problem?

  • @ohade123 the water damage got to the digitizer and you would need to start by replacing the glass digitizer and if that does not work then the water damaged the logic board. the logic boards are not available at a cost effective level for these iPods. So if the replacement digitizer did not work you would have to buy a new iPod.

  • So i have a 2nd gen ipod touch were only the right headphone works. Also the sound seems to fade at some angles any ideas?

  • @HellsKnite I would say that replacing or re-soldering the headphone jack should fix the problem. Though when you say the sound fades at "angles' i assume you mean when you tilt the ipod left or right. This makes sense if you are tilting the ipod the weight of the headphones can pull the headphone jack further from the logic board. Though you may have an issue with the accelerometer, in the worst case. I would replace the headphone jack first and go from there.

  • @DigiExpress so am i better off buying a new ipod?

  • I dropped some water on iPod Touch 2G. The iPod turns on, but the WiFi does not work. When I go under "Settings" it says "No Wi-Fi." Those words are greyed out, and it does not let me click on it. Any help is greatly appreciated? Thanks.

  • @UnleashedDog More than likely the water, somehow, shorted the chip that handles the wi-fi. The replaceable parts for this are only the Antenna, not the chip. In the case when Wi-Fi options are greyed-out then the system is not receiving information from the Broadcom chip on the top part of the logic board. Generally this is not cost-effective to repair in a 2nd or 3rd generation unit.

  • @UnleashedDog most likey the water damaged the wifi chip and you will no longer be able to get wifi

  • I have an ipd 2g and i can turn it on but when i turn in it on the touch doesnt respond tried resetting tried everything and nothing works AND IDEAS HELP

  • @WingmanStarcraft It sounds like you need a new glass digitizer, but first check for any water damage. There is a water sensor in the Headphone Jack, take a light and look in the headphone jack, if you see red or pink then you have water damage. If there is no water damage, then you can safely assume that by replacing the glass digitizer you would get the touch function back. We can sell you the part if you would like or we also do installations, more info is available on our website.

  • I dropped my iPod touch 2g in a hot tub and it was completely submerged for about a minute, it has been about a year and when i try to turn it on, i get a white screen. It is recognized by iTunes. When I plug it in i get the charging sound. I have tried to reset it but it didn't work. If I click the home and sleep button at once i hear the sound that verifies that it took a screen shot and i can then plug it into my computer and look at the pics on it and i see the "slide to unlock" screen HELP

  • @jimmyyy360 for any case of water damage we offer a Diagnosis service, this is what we recommend for any device that has been water damage but still functions. More information is available on our website.

  • My headphone jack, regardless of whatever of headphones i put in, only plays through one speaker, the right speaker. If I apply pressure to it, it'll play through both but when I release the pressure, it stops. what do?

  • @ganon391 When you apply pressure you are re-connecting the internals and this is why the sound comes back, generally you would replace the headphone jack and this should fix the issue. Just be careful of the tracers on the board, you don't want to pull any of them from the board.

  • Thanks so much DigiExpress. Since I last wrote, there has been a pattern where I will hit the home button and the backlight will come on several seconds. I then allow time to pass, and it might stay on a few minutes, and then the next time, it will work for several hours and then at some point, cut out when I'm using it. Just posting that in case it gives you any other clues. Thanks again!

  • The backlight on my ipod touch 2g started going out 5 days ago. It would come on briefly when I pressed the home button but then it would go off. Gradually, the backlight would stay on longer and yesterday I was able to use my ipod all day. Then I turned it on last night and the backlight went out and it hasn't come back on at all since then. Otherwise, the ipod is functioning normally. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks

  • @lrhoke The backlight issue, which is common, can be one of two things. The first is that the CCFL in the LCD screen has gone out. You can fix that by replacing the LCD screen. If you replace the LCD screen and the light still does not function; then it is a problem with a coil and fuse set on the logic board. The logic board coil and fuse set is generally not repairable. Unfortunately the only way to tell which it is, would be to replace the LCD screen and see if that works.

  • for easyer glass take off just use a suckshin cup but i warn u use pull for the home button i broke my ipod cause i dident

  • Comment removed

  • i left my ipod touch in my car in the morning and it was in there for a couple of hours. The battery had already died when i left it in there. then when i came home to charge it all it did was flash the apple logo, go blank, then flash it again. Plus it keeps asking me to charge it but i never does when i plug it in. even after leaving it in there for 3 hours. the last time i synced my ipod touch was 3 yrs ago and i never learned how to use itunes. I only used it for notes and web browsing?

  • @jrk987 so i never had a back up, what could be wrong with the hardware that heat could have affected it?

  • @jrk987 so do you think it is possible to recover that information, i mean where in the ipod touch is information stored? the most important parts were my screen caps, notes, and contacts, i never downloaded any apps or music...

  • @jrk987 the heat could have shut the device down but it should have come back to "life" when it cooled down. Now if it is extreme heat, 100+ degrees for hours, then it is possible to damage circuitry from overheating. those types of repairs would require examining a logic board for signs of failure and are not recommended to do on your own, though if you were so inclined then you could disassemble the iPod to see if there are any obvious signs of damage.

  • @DigiExpress do you think the memory is corrupt? it's hard to believe that 5 days, my ipod touch was functioning just fine...

So who could I trust to examine the logic board and repair it?

I mean seriously, computer forensics can recover stuff that's been deleted on a cp, can the same be said about the ipod touch?

  • @DigiExpress like when i plug it into my cp, the computer does not recognize it. but when I hold both the home and sleep/wake button together until the logo appears and then release the sleep/wake button, the screen transitions to the disc/recovery mode in which the computer DOES recognize it but I MUST delete everything on it for it to function again...

  • @DigiExpress So do you think i can recover the information? notes?

  • @jrk987 I have been looking around for any type of answer to your question, the best I can come up with is to get iPhone Explorer, PhoneView or SharePod to access any part of the data in the iPod. Granted it is an iPod Touch and not an iPhone but still these type of Applications will access data. The issue is that the iPod uses iTunes as a throughput for data transfer, it can be recognizable in the Recovery mode and still not be able to transfer data. The Flash Memory makes foresnics tricky.

  • @jrk987 The iPod may very well work perfectly once you restore it through iTunes, but I know you are concerned about the data. This is a grey area, as Apple provides no tools to access data other than iTunes. Some hackers can use certain USB tools to inject data or "sniff" data; but this would be custom written software for the purpose of retrieving Data. I'm sorry but I am coming to a stalemate on this issue.

  • is it possible to put lets say a 3rd gen. ipod touchs proccessor on a 2nd gen ipod touch?????

  • i just got an ipod touch from a pawnshop and idk what gen it is ? how do i find out

  • @deerslayer048 Look at the Model No. on the back. A first gen's Model No. is A1213, 2nd gen is A1288, 3rd is A1318, and 4th is A1367.

  • I dont even kno how i got to watch this vid i was watching lava lamps and this video appears...!!!

  • @DigiExpress, my ipod has a problem in the IPOD headphone jack, only the right earphone is working while the left is not or sometimes intermittent. The headphone is working both left & right when plug into another device.

  • whenever i press the sleep button the volume goes up and whenever i press the volume up botton the ipod goes to sleep what should i do?? plus the earphone jack doesnt work T-T;

  • my iopod turns on an stuff but just the touch doesnt wrk idk what to do!!):

  • @KEVINandADAM321 if your iPod has no touch response then the culprit is probably the Digitizer. The replacement Glass Digitizer we sell would be the first step in repair. If there had been any water damage to the iPod then you may have a deeper issue. We can do a Diagnosis on the device if you would like, but generally this iPod would need a replacement Glass Digitizer.

  • @KEVINandADAM321 same here . like when u try to unlock it and slide it it wont do anything ?

  • @evolutiononhalo3

It sounds like you need a new digitizer, we sell them on our website. You may want to send it in and have a technician take a look at, they can install the digitizer if necessary.

  • can u put a ipod touch lcd in a iphone 3g

  • @rambojohnson53 You cannot put an LCD from an iPod Touch into an iPhone, the connections to the logic board are different.

  • @DigiExpress my ipod screen came and there was a connector thing on the home button please tell me where to cnnect it

  • I have tools that look exactly like yours, but when i try to popup the digitizer, the metal from the ipod start chipping off the plastic of the tool.

    What am i doing wrong?

  • Thank you so much! I was able to fix my Ipod touch home button :D

  • i did this and now I get a white screen. did I break the LCD? how?

  • ARRG i broke my ipods screen!!!!

  • @coldnhot369

    you werent the only one

  • well i only did this so i could find out why wasnt my ipod turning on and why it was burning hot when i charged it can any geek tell me whats happening?

  • My ipod won't turn on, i was playing a game and when the ipod wouldnt respond, i turned it off by pressing both home and lock buttons, now it won't turn on again, i tried itunes, normal turn on, dfu mode won't work either, any idea what i can try?

  • @valimen did u jailbreak it?? cuz if u did, u need to get a new software

  • so how would you replace the back housing or whatever its caled

  • i bought and ipod touch water damaged from a friend and it wont turn on what should i do?

  • @gameplayer222

put it in rice for like 2 days then charge it and turn it on thats what happened to my friends

  • Is the bezel the same as the midframe

  • @nghs118 In some cases you may find the Mid-Frame called the Bezel. Though more commonly the chrome peice around an iPhone 3G/3GS is called the bezel. The mid-frame is what holds the glass digitizer in the iPod Touch and also holds the home button in place.

  • @DigiExpress Ok thanks, Oh and i almost got done with the repari but a small piece of the original midframe was stuck in there and some how the ribbon cable broke, is there any way to get an replacement ribbon cable instead of buying the whole screen?

  • Would there be a way to fix the ipod jack temporary?

if i opened the ipod and would i break it?

  • @highangani The iPod Jack could be the 30 pin connector at the bottom of the device or the Headphone jack into which plugs a set of headphones. The 30 pin connector is something that is not replaceable as it is basically part of the logic board itself. The headphone jack can be replaced but there is no temporary fix for either. If you have any other questions, or maybe I did not answer yours entirely, please reply to this video and I will answer them the best I can.

  • @highangani dude i tried it and my itouch fuckin broke!!! uuughhhh

i have a fuckin crack and the screen isnt working anymore fml...

  • @1edloso Yea that happened to me to... and i did that AFTER i read your comment so dont feel bad and im broke haha

  • @highangani hahaha that fuckin suuucks!!! lmaoo u had that feeling huh?

  • hah. i like when he shows it one time, then the next the ipod is messed up every time he has a new slide

  • My orange/black stickers for ribbons #1 and #3 fell off. Does anyone know whether I can order new ones somewhere? I need to send the phone back in to apple and I'm helpless!

    Thanks!

  • @SimSimHH That is a unique issue, but I would try to find an ebay or craigslist seller who is willing to sell you just the stickers or a replacement part that still has the stickers on it. This is one of the least common questions we have been asked, but the only answer I can provide is to find the stickers from another unit and swap them. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance on this one.

  • @DigiExpress Thanks. I know it's unique, I don't know how they fell off while I was taking it apart and messing around. But that's a good idea, I couldn't think of anything myself. I'm going to check ebay/craigslist iphone sellers..

    Thanks!

  • hope you have a little time for some advice.. i found an ipod on the street, i was able to get the smashed glass off myself using your guide (great guide btw.. thanks greatly!). before attempting this though i tried charging it, seeing if it would turn on, etc.. nothing. didn't show up in itunes, doesn't respond to anything. do you think my issue might be the battery or something else? any advice would be VERY appreciated! thank you

  • @yuhatn I would first attempt to replace the battery in the device, though you may just have an issue with the logic board itself. The device would normally show you an icon of a battery charging unless the battery is completely flat or shorted out. Check your water sensors which are located down inside the heaphone jack as well as some on the internals (not exactly sure where the internal ones for this device are). If you see red or pink then there has been water damage, which is very tricky
