Audi ist best, but as long as the electric energy comes from coal plants, e-cars produce a lot more CO2 than normal gas cars.
(since a 2012 VW gas engine has a way higher efficieny than a 70s gas turbine) e-cars are neither green nor cost efficient, but may help shanghai and LA by getting rid of smog <- the only adventage of an e-car, unless you live in germany where more and more of the electirc energy you need to "gas up" comes from the sun/wind/earth heat/plants/..

What's the point of driving an electric car, putting solar panels on your roof and doing everything you can to "save the planet" by reducing your own CO2 discharge, when a country like China (with no environmental laws what so ever) opens 2 coal-fired power plants every single week? Tell me, someone

I dont understand why electric cars have to be full of electricity consuming gizmos.....surely you would want to conserve electricity. I mean......LCD dash etc.
Nice designs but the number one complaint I hear with Audi's is they have electrical problems. Would you buy an electric car from a company with electrical problems?
@kingcamilo Nah... it'll just share the day's events with the toaster oven and blender. Recommend having garage close to kitchen where other electric utensils belong.
Wait let me get this straight. It costs almost twice as much as a Tesla roadster but has less range of only 150 miles per charge and is slower at 0-60 in 4.8 seconds? This only shows how behind Audi is in battery technology.
Well at least Quebec is dominated by hydroelectricity meaning that these cars represent a huge advantage for places where energy is made through eco-friendly means.
electric cars are actually less ECO-friendly. where do we get our electricity? by burning coal. what are car batteries made out of? Lead/Lithium and acid. lithium must be refined via blast furnace which eats up entire trees at a time. then a shit ton of Co2 comes out of the ore when burned/melted. and then car batteries bust be replaced/disposed of every few years. a British study was done and the freakin Land Rover was proven to be more ECO-friendly than a Prius. LOL
@sixDUMBbeaners yeah true but with electric cars we don't burn massive amounts of fuel on diesel guzzling tanker ships that are used to bring the fossil fuels over...
This is going to be the future of over 1/2 of the cars on the roads in north america. a car with no engine sound? whats the point??
btdada 7 months ago
@btdada With a car with no engine sound, you can CHOOSE your engine sound.
1) get a netbook
2) get a number of car engine samples from a racing video game and put them in different directories for different car brands
3) connect an analog control to your accelerator pedal and to your netbook
4) Make a program to select a car brand and play the correct samples according to the pressure to the accelerator.
You'll be able to make the car sound like a Ferrari, a Lamborghini or whatever you want!
