Audi ist best, but as long as the electric energy comes from coal plants, e-cars produce a lot more CO2 than normal gas cars.

(since a 2012 VW gas engine has a way higher efficieny than a 70s gas turbine) e-cars are neither green nor cost efficient, but may help shanghai and LA by getting rid of smog <- the only adventage of an e-car, unless you live in germany where more and more of the electirc energy you need to "gas up" comes from the sun/wind/earth heat/plants/..

electric cars are actually less ECO-friendly. where do we get our electricity? by burning coal. what are car batteries made out of? Lead/Lithium and acid. lithium must be refined via blast furnace which eats up entire trees at a time. then a shit ton of Co2 comes out of the ore when burned/melted. and then car batteries bust be replaced/disposed of every few years. a British study was done and the freakin Land Rover was proven to be more ECO-friendly than a Prius. LOL

1) get a netbook

2) get a number of car engine samples from a racing video game and put them in different directories for different car brands

3) connect an analog control to your accelerator pedal and to your netbook

4) Make a program to select a car brand and play the correct samples according to the pressure to the accelerator.

You'll be able to make the car sound like a Ferrari, a Lamborghini or whatever you want!

There is no point in making a 100% electric car "fuel free" if you're going to have to charge it from your house. The electricity in 90% of the worlds homes comes from burning fossil fuel. So that doesn't solve the problem.

People also have the choice to completely break free by installing solar panels, which with current gas cars you're stuck with feeding the oil companies your money no matter what. Also with big oil out of the way, new technology can arise i.e. more efficient and affordable solar panels or ocean wave generators.

100% electric cars are the way to go.

@liquidrum7 it doesn't solve the problem but it makes it a bit less. gas consumption for cars wastes alot of recourses because they need it individually, where as houses have fuel distributed for electricity so in a way it decreases the consumption. what we need is to purly for anything stop useing these recources or atleast a majority not relying on it cuz when it stops we are screwed. ( 75-80% clean unlimited energy- 20-25 gas until the recourses end)

@liquidrum7 the point of electric cars though is that they use the energy far more efficiently than a heat engine like we're used to. 90% of the energy you charge an electric car with is converted to kinetic energy, compared to an average of 20% for petrol engines and 30% average for diesel engines. So although you still use fossil fuels, you use them far more efficiently. The mix of power sources can also change to a lower emission mixture, which you cannot do with petroleum.
