The Hsi Lai temple provides not only a place of worship but also a forum for lectures, discussions, classes, communal rituals, and other Buddhist services and activities. The massive physical structure f the temple includes the Bodhisattva Hall, the Buddha Hall, V.I.P. suites, reception rooms, classrooms, a gift shop, the auditoriums, a museum, a memorial pagoda, a library, administrative offices, and living quarters for the monks and nuns.
I've been there a few times, but I can't seem to figure out what the other buildings are for. I've only been in the Bodhisattva Hall, Main Shrine and the courtyard.
Great video. Please come to the temple to see us. English meditation classes are at 9:20- - 10:20 am, and Buddhism classes are at 10:30 am - 12 noon Sundays and are excellent.
