  • It would do my heart good to hear that thing this week with no knock. I have been working inside the house (Wahhhhhh!!!!!) installing flooring, painting, drywall etc... I have been just too danged busy to do anything outside on the tractors!

I live my tractor repair life vicariously through you mrwiggles2 and you too 500passwords! At least until I get my girlfriends stuff out of my shed and have my electric installed. Then she can have inside and I will take the shed, lol!!!! (AC and heat too)

  • @Pocketraisins LOL! I tried to start it, wouldn't start. So I took it off the frame, tore it apart and found that I installed the flywheel plastic cap for the magneto- backwards. This would make the spark plugs fire at the wrong time... so today, I plan to button it back up and hopefully get it running. Won't be long, thanks for watching.

  • L@@ks nice! Good Work! Im looking forward to hearing her purrrrrr.

  • @CRAZY4WHEELHORSES Thanks- little minor set back, I test fired it and noticed my timing must be off, I'm backfiring through the carb. So... off comes some parts to re-align my timing marks. Good thing I can do this in my sleep!

  • @mrwiggles2 You will get her...... I got faith in ya!

  • I have two 520-Hs: a nearly new '96 "Commemroative" model with 339 hrs. and an '89, similar to yours, with 731 hrs. I also have a very nice '90 312-8 with 406 hrs. The '89 and the '90 could use a little paint touch-up here and there, and the '89 needs new decals (which I have), Your series of videos will be very helpful with these tasks. I really do hope your next start-up is without a hitch. We all felt for you with the first start-up and the valve problems. Good luck!

  • @GuzarutstA You've got quite a field of horses, sounds awesome. Thanks a lot for watching, I'm getting pretty excited now that I've torn this thing about inside and out and had it all machined. Hope be be turning the key this weekend.

  • Getting close Craig! Cannot wait for the next update - I just picked up another C-120 8 Speed last weekend for $180 that I am tearing down too...

  • @TractorTV Oh, I want to see that. Put some pix on FB or here if you get a chance. I need to go to a local hardware store this morning, need some pig tail connectors to hook up the charging system. Should be able to fire it up today, thanks Micah!

  • @Pocketraisins Ooh that's a good idea! I like that. Never have to worry about separation. Thanks for sticking around, I'm getting close to firing her up.

  • Nice job Buddy. Almost there!

  • @CCSinventions Thanks Cam! Carbs always give me fits, except on these motors. Onan P216 , 218, 220 have little adjustment so even I can do it! Thanks for watching!

  • @805ROADKING My 416 had 3 fasteners left when I restored it. Still don't know where they came from!

  • @TheFred1952 I take pics too but I always find I'm looking for those little parts. Putting in a zip lock helps to save parts. Pictures are best for remembering.

  • awesome work buddy .

that engine looked heavy but you did it right .

all lower back , no legs . lol

thats how we lift em at the south branch :)

  • @500passwords I don't know where my response is from last night- damn it was a good one too. Thanks brother! Should be firing this beast up this weekend. Stay tuned. Heading to the hardware store this morning to grab some pigtail connectors for the electrical system.

  • Im biting my nails waiting to hear that thing run again! This is better than a good TV series. Good job on the vid as usual guy!

I use a similar zip-lock parts tracking system. Its a little more expensive, but I use the clear rubber doctors gloves. I put the parts in them, lable them and then use the elasticity of the gloves to tie the bag onto the larger part. As long as you dont "lose" the larger part you dont lose the hardware that goes with it. It also helps my GF works for a med company :)

  • the zipp lock bags and sharpy are good I also like to take plunty of pictures

  • Bag it and tag it!! nothing worse than spare parts at the end of a project eh Buddy!!☺

  • i like when you talked about remembering how to put an engine back together cuz i just took apart a carb last week then ordered a overhaul kit and it didnt come with a diagram and i was struggling xD but i got it back together LMAO that engine looks mean ! GOOD WORK :D - Cameron Smith

  • Wow Craig, thats really coming together rather quickly... Looks great!!!!

Hopefully it will run like a dream....

I found an 8 speed for my horse but they want $150 for it, I think that's a bit steep or am I wrong???

    Merrie-Merrie

  • @MRSROCKINROBIN In good shape an 8-speed with 8 pinion gears is worth it. I was on ebay today, there are bell housings for $100 for a 300-400-500 series. I wouldn't think they'd be more than $20. Every year, the parts lot gets smaller and the price goes up.
